After a few moments our instructor led us to the classroom . On the way there he kindly showed us where the restroom, water fountain, coffee machine were at . The building itself seems a bit outdated, but nothing that effected the quality of our course. The instructor was easy to follow and gave clear instructions . I felt like I was heard and gained what I needed to in this course. Overall, I would highly recommend this American Red Cross location .

It takes less than thirty minutes between blood pressure and heart rate check, answer health questionnaire, and blood donation. Donating plasma takes longer so it's one and done for me. I'll stick with whole blood donation going forward :) Last time I donated, I received a $10 gift card from Red Lobster, $10 e-gift card, and a tie die shirt. I've received gift cards from Walmart, Publix, and Red Robin depending on where the One Blood Mobile Bus is setup. Sometimes, they provide water and snacks too. Can't beat that! I went to Adult CPR and First Aid class about three weeks ago, in preparation for being a summer…read moreprogram counselor. In our class, most every person had been CPR qualified at some point or another, including myself, so it was more of a refresher course than it was learning new material. We had three instructors, one full time employee of the Red Cross and two volunteers, for our class size of about 15. The class was approximately three hours long and not, to my surprise, an all day affair like I had experienced in the past. This was the perfect amount of time, especially for an afternoon course on a summer day. While the Red Cross does offer online courses for CPR now, I would highly recommend to just sign up and go in person for the training. You have the instructors right there in front of you to answer any questions that you may have, and you also can learn from your other classmates as well. The Northeast Florida Chapter for the American Red Cross is nestled just between the Cummer and Riverside Arts Market. I'm sure that they have been at this location for a long while, but it's a perfectly central spot in the city.
