Also you need to remove your shoes and socks. They examine your stomach and breathing etc. If you need a doctor's note signed, it will have to be approved by their doctor. Before your allowed to donate then they make you take a second physical. For no reason at all. I just had a physical within one to two months ago. It took a month to see my doctor. Who approved me to donate as did the Freedom plasma doctor also approve me to donate. I won't be coming back to this place. I never donated. Just not worth the aggravation. Management doesn't give you a number to call or the name of a person that can help you. Being forced to take a second physical within one to two months is harassment in my book. The other donor centers pay better anyway. This place pays $100, $100, $45.00, $100 then $45. The other plasma centers pay you $100, $125 and $90 five times. Total of 7 payments.

All of the employees are friendly and sweet even when my heart rate was a little high and I had to come back the next day, I felt comfortable doing so. The professionalism is 5 stars and the $ promo is wonderful as well. I'm going through some financial hardships but there are no judgements here. If you're going to donate, Freedom is your place! Though there were 3 employees working 4 beds for whole blood donations of one pint, they took REALLY long. My partner came in looking to see if I was alright because it was taking much longer than usual. My technician rubbed my vein site SO hard & SO many times prior to actually poking Me, that it made Me feel nauseated, then It hurt when the needle entered; that's not even necessary. I witnessed one bed across Me where the little squeeze ball shaped like a drop of blood, fell to the floor & bounced around. I pointed it out out loud to the 2 techs working in this Section who seemed oblivious. Then the one Dude, picked it up & placed it. Right back on the side table of the donor who was in that chair. I was grossed out. He didn't even bother to wipe it down; it was gonna be in the next donors hands to squeeze & it had bounced all over the dirty floor. This donation took much longer that the others I've done. The Bus looks grungy & dirty floors & could use a good thorough cleaning. The phlebotomists I've watched & had help Me weren't especially friendly & look tired & over it. I ALWAYS have trouble on their stupid website trying to make appointments. No Staff available to assist on Chat & today I waited on hold for 6 minutes to speak to a live representative, then hung up. My Observations are; their donation bus needs a good cleaning; An employee (Phlebotomist) who picks up off the dirty floor, a fallen squishy ball for donors to use, & casually places it back on the side table tray for that donor chair, WITHOUT WIPING IT DOWN, is a PILAU MOVE. Pilau meaning DIRTY. I had to ask my Plebotomist, to go wipe it clean. I WILL NOT DONATE WITH ONE BLOOD ANYMORE. Customer Service Sucks Employees (phlebotomists) I've dealt with lack friendliness, courtesy, seem tired & unmotivated & this last incident sealed the deal for Me. Can't reach them by phone or chat & the website BITES. Back to Red Cross or, the Hawaii Blood Bank when I'm home. Too Bad for One Blood. Where's the Customer Service here? How can You reach the Administration?!?! They Suck.

The rules are completely ignored and no one says anything. This is a medical facility not a welfare outpost. My donation process should be pleasant, without being subjected to outlandish behavior by other donors. I think the staff needs a security person to protect not only the integrity of the facility but the " welfare" of fellow donors who truly believe in what they are contributing. I don't believe the facility overseers care about the safety of anyone coming there. Its truly a shame because the people that work there believe in what they are doing, it's their careers and they need to be shielded from adverse circumstances to do their job with integrity as well as fellow donors.

BLOOD... We have it, we need it, we can share it…read more Remember those carefree days, as a kid, when blood took on a whole new meaning? Your first bloody nose. A bruised & bloody knee, looking to mom for sympathy. Pricking your finger to become blood brothers/blood sisters. As an adult, we can still become blood brothers/sisters. With a whole lot more people! Sure, we won't get to practice secret handshakes. Or meet in treehouses. But the meaning is more powerful than ever! My girl, I call her my Fav Fab One, we love to give blood. It's the right thing to do. Paying it forward. Plus, you just never know there might come a day when you are on the receiving end of that bag of blood. This month was my birthday. That time of getting high fives, gifts and celebrations. We were visiting the grand opening of a new restaurant in town when we spotted The Big Red Bus sitting in their parking lot. We ran into Michelle inside, who invited us to donate. Without hesitation, we figured we'd eat, then we'd grab a seat, in the bus. If just felt right to give a gift. A gift of blood. We had NO IDEA that giving blood would be SO MUCH FUN! For when we stepped outta the Florida heat and took our seats, we were greeted by the Tag Team of Julio & Nick! These guys should go on tour. Comedy! Action! Even though we were laughing and having a bloody good time, we knew for sure we were in good hands, too. Funny, how you can be totally professional while being absolutely endearing. That's the atmosphere we were in. Oh, us and one other donor, I'll call her Paige. Thankfully, we all were on the same 'page' so NO ONE was offended or upended. Giving blood. Feeling good. Having fun. And even some parting gifts as their way of saying Thanks! It truly was a 'gifted' experience.

I was given a questionnaire to fill out, and then we exchanged the form with a tablet to answer more health questions. My blood pressure was taken, and my iron count was taken. We walked into the donation area, where I sat in a donation chair, and the donation routine began to take my blood. After about 8-10 minutes, I was finished and got up and left the facility. The technician was friendly and was very good at inserting the donation needle into my arm. There was some informal conversation, and it was a very nice experience. I have been here many times before, and I will return when I can donate again. I've been donating blood since 1969 and feel I am giving life to people who need this to survive. Feel Good about yourself and give blood. One Blood has great employees working there.

Got to spin for prizes on your second donation of the week and the amount reimbursed went up over time. Several months ago they were taken over by grifoils and it's gone down hill ever since this happened and they have reduced the reimbursement from $150 weekly with 2 donations in one week. It went down to $135 weekly and now again to $90 weekly. There must be some type of mismanagement going on They are almost ALWAYS short staffed I have been here when there only one phlebotomist for an entire room full of patients. The people who do the intake and phlebotomists are but I really great but i get the impression they are not treated well. The management seems seem to interested in laughing and joking amongst themselves rather then see what they can do to help their overworked staff. I used to tell everyone what a great place it was and recommended it to MULTIPLE people. One coworker actually did start right when grifoils took over. I feel really bad that I did now especially how I raved about how great it was. I won't recommend it to anyone else because it's hardly worth it anymore. So dissatisfied and disappointed with this new company. If you are thinking about donating I wouldn't bother. They don't appreciate their staff and and CERTAINLY not their donors. I can't post unless I give at least 1 star but I don't even give them that
