Beautiful gym. The facility is clean and the staff and clients are friendly and welcoming. I joined to take advantage of the Recovery facilities and have been very pleased with them. This is not just a place for young, fit people; all ages come here, especially those of us who are of retirement age. Ryan and Rich helped me out today when I was charged for an expensive training package that I did not agree to by a trainer; I did not even have an appointment with him until next week. The trainer should be fired for having me unknowingly sign a blank contract and then adding a weekly training package and my credit card information to it. I told him repeatedly that I was not ready to agree to a training package before I had had my complimentary training sessions. I also told him that my wife would never agree to an expensive training package under any circumstances. This was our first week, and we were trying out the facilities with great enjoyment. I know that both Ryan and Rich will handle the trainer appropriately. He's lucky that I'm not his boss because he would be fired immediately. I've been a Onelife fitness member for a few years now and I'm quite pleased with the size of this location. It's a fairly affordable membership and the amount of space and equipment is great for the cost. I would the only reason for docking a star is during busy hours (5 AM or 5 PM) it gets really packed. Packed to the point there may not be a treadmill available for use. It's best to go off hours when people are typically working (9 AM on a weekday). Otherwise, the facility is clean and well maintained. The pool option is a nice touch as well as the optional classes you can sign up for. read more

I've been coming to the one life fitness location for the past couple months and I always get a great workout! They have several amenities such as hydromassage, red light therapy, hot tub/pool, and a co-Ed sauna. Although this location can be busy often especially around 5-8pm on weekdays, there are lots of equipment such as treadmills and cable machines. Sometimes during peak hours, it can be difficult to find parking! The gym also offers several classes that include bootcamp, Pilates mat, cycling, barre etc. read more

Sauna is not finished - so you'll burn yourself on tile (leaning back or hanging legs down) if you're not careful. And is generally packed with 10+ ppl despite 8 member capacity. From when I first started my fitness journey in January 2021 till this morning at 5am when I was starting my workout. when I joined OneLife In January 2021 I've loved it, I met a lot of great people seeing as I was there almost everyday. Now in the middle of 2022 I moved out of state and whenever I'm in town I make sure I stop in and get a workout in and say hi to Alex(general manager) and the rest of the staff. Freshly opened gym Exterior- was an old Giant foods store. Currently still has some construction equipment outside parking lot relatively small. Liquor store across of this location, food truck chills outside sometimes Interior- photos. Currently super clean. Building is really wide. Equipment is fairly spaced out. Layout mostly makes sense No basketball court compared to Rockville. Pool was not open yet upon last visit. No shortage on foam rollers Covid safety- 6 feet not usually maintain, masks are all mostly up and noses covered. Not too much hand sanitizer placed around. Cleaning staff is always cleaning Staff- front desk dude so far is nice, but when busy came off alittle rude, but it happens. I had one interaction with a small Asian male trainer, asking where the back Extention was. He was able to take me to it. Fitness director, Ryan, super nice guy. Too bad you cannot give 0 stars, that's what they truly deserve. Also pay attention to the positive reviews - they clearly came from employees. First complaint - the gym and equipment are lacking and not properly cleaned. Take a couple minutes observing and you will see what I mean. Second complaint, the amenities and equipment are a joke. For a new gym you would expect a lot more. Third complaint, they are crooks who will violate their own contract to get every penny they can. We were some of the "founding members", and opening of the gym was pushed back several times due to Covid, ok, fine. However, this does not change the terms of the contract. When we went to cancel (which was a three week process due to their intentional avoidance and delayed response times), OneLife decided to charge us two additional months, citing a delayed opening, despite us moving way out of the area and should have only had to pay one month - according to the terms of THEIR contract. They wouldn't let us cancel at the gym, there are no clear directions online - as we were told when we tried to cancel in the gym. I spent an hour "on hold" without ever being able to speak to someone. Emails with corporate each took 48 hours to hear a response. In the end this pushed us into the next month before we were able to cancel and they tried to make us pay for that month and two more. Currently they are refusing to remove our information from their system which is a privacy violation in the state of Maryland. All of this for a sub par gym with a fake claim to cleanliness... employees wearing "chin diapers" instead of actually wearing masks. Employees changing out clean towels coughing all over them. The pools are never open. The classes are a joke and you can never get a spot anyways. The child care is perhaps worst of all - almost never open and once again lazy employees just let your kid watch TV instead of acknowledging you or the child. Go to a REAL gym like Lifetime down the road. When we had to cancel with them due to our move, it happened in five minutes over the phone and was effective the end of the month that was already paid. If you don't want to go that far, Golds gym has all the same equipment and staff that seems to care. read more

I never leave Yelp reviews; in fact this is my first time. I have been a member for three years and never have I experienced such rudeness from a staff member like I did today... at 5AM ! 5AM ! My friend was charged a fee to be a guest at the gym -- we were not aware of the gyms policy, nor were we explained that if you were a memeber before and wanted to visit the gym you pay a $22 fee. My friend then decided to question Paul and he obnoxiously mocked her and yelled at her stating we should be appreciative he is giving us a discount. We have been members for two years and just had an experience that went above and beyond. I called and spoke with Roger with a unique request. I have a friend that was supposed to do a mini-triathalon in NC and could not get there because her husband recently had a stroke. Coordinating with the event and many of her friends for support, she was planning to do the event simutaneously in Olney. The only thing missing was a place do to the swim part of the race. I reached out to OneLife and asked if she could use the pool even in she was not a member AND would she be able to use the pool in my abscence as were were going to be out of town that weekend. Not only did Roger say yes, he made the lane reservation for her almost a week in advance to guarantee that she would be able to have a lane available to swim! She successfully completed the mini-triathalon and her husband was released from the hospital that day to great her on the last leg of the run. read more

This morning my friend and I walked in with 2 guest and the member representative in the front desk made a big deal about an ex member that was visiting the gym after a long time however policy was not explained from the beginning so I was a bit confused to be charged a fee. The gym equipment is great and varied, and I love working out there. But the locker rooms and showers are typically pretty filthy. With a club of this size, OneLife needs to invest in full time cleaning staff to go through the locker rooms and clean them throughout the day. The locker room floors are usually very dirty, trash and towels are typically strewn all over the place, and there is almost always hairballs in the shower (gross). read more

I really love this gym and this chain. I started going to the one in Rockville when it opened and was just blown away at the size, cleanliness, and what was available for a low cost. When the Olney one opened within five minutes of walking from my house I was ecstatic! The staff here are very nice and the club is very clean. They have a huge selection of cardio machines, pretty much anything you could ever want. They have an indoor saltwater pool which is perfect for laps, it has three lanes, which before Covid could easily allow 6 people to swim. They have a sauna which they require no shoes inside and a large jacuzzi, both in the pool area. They have a large selection of lifting racks, I want to say like 6-8 racks plus another dedicated space for deadlifts/Olympic lifting. They have a large area that is turf for any exercises you wan to do including box jumps, etc. they have multiple TRX stations and an easy fully body circuit training machines in the back corner next to the very large yoga studio. They have also have a large area for group classes as well. The upstairs is another area for a wide array of exercises and includes additional machines for cardio and weightlifting. To date there has not been one thing I wanted and could t find here and the cost is amazing! Great gym, highly recommend. read more

I only use the pool, which is great, hence the two stars. However, the photo taking in the men's locker room is out of control. Every day, guys are taking half naked selfies, usually while other people are changing in the background. Management has put a sign on the door prohibiting photo taking, but it's generally ignored. Last week, I asked a guy near me to stop taking photos because I was directly behind him, and he responded with belligerence and profanities. I mentioned the big sign saying photos aren't allowed and said I'd report him to the desk, and he threatened me with sexual violence in disturbingly graphic terms. I found a manager at the front desk and was explaining what happened when the guy followed me out of the locker room. He started laughing when he saw which manager I was talking to and said that he knew him, suggesting that nothing would be done about it. He then repeated his sexual threat to me in front of the manager. I left the manager to deal with him, but he told me later he couldn't do anything because he didn't witness what happened. I asked him if he heard what the guy said to me, which could probably be defined as assault in Montgomery County, right in front of him, and he said he had. I suggested he ask the two or three other guys in the locker room who witnessed it what happened, but he wasn't interested in doing that. A few minutes later, he changed his tune and told me he couldn't remember who said what. It's been nearly a week since I sent an email about the incident to the corporate office, and no one has contacted me. I guess I'm on my own, and you will be too if you raise any concern to management. read more

This is a terrific facility with friendly and helpful staff. When my wife and I were switching from another local gym to Onelife, Lee made the extra effort to get us squared away with a family plan which suited us perfectly. Onelife was able to fashion a plan which would allow for our college kid to join for the summer months when shes home, at a terrific rate. We were hesitant to switch from our other local club, but after a quick tour of the facility and all its amenities, Lee and the crew at Onelife made it a "no-brainer". read more

I think there's a lot to like at this gym. It's really big, clean, and brand new. I've taken one Barre class which was good, and I've done a few sessions with a personal trainer and those have gone really well. The kids club is an add on to your membership, but gives you unlimited visits and the kids club space is huge, clean, and the women who run it are very sweet. My kids love it. It's about a thousand times easier to get to the gym when your kids are begging you to go to the kids room there . Its much nicer than the small dingy room at the Bender JCC where I used to go. Lee helped me with the membership. Was perfectly nice and not pushy. Even after a scheduling mishap with my first trainer, he and the fitness director checked in the next time I was there to make sure I was happy with everything with the new trainer. Just like every other business, the mask-wearing/vaccination status is on the honor system, except all kids over 2 must wear a mask. So, it doesn't seem any more or less risky than any other indoor business. read more

Good gym but music is WAY too loud. They play doo-doo playlists a lot of the time, but the volume of the music is regularly around 80-85db (potentially hazardous) and regularly peaks at over 90db (harmful level). Even with noise cancelling headphones the gym music absolutely blasts through. Turn the f-ing volume down Onelife, especially since everyone brings their own headphones. Wtf? read more

It's been 14 visits to this gym intotal and here is my honest opinion. The gym is decent size not too big not too small. Most of the time it's not overcrowded but ofc it will be any gym does at certain timings. They only have one or two or some machines I feel like they should add more of. Me including others I've seen there have to wait on the person on the machine to finish up. If they add more of those machines it would make it easier for everyone. The sauna is sometimes too hot or too cold. So I'm having to either spend more time or less time hope that stops happening. It's also a huge hassle to change ur membership or cancel it. U have to mail them back and forth. Some of the staff can be a bit rude or atleast have an attitude but the others are nice. I don't think the women's showers are cleaned daily. I've seen the same stains consistently so that worries me. If u have the membership with towel service you get charged $6 each towel if it's not returned. I have returned all the towels but I don't know I was charged $12 for no reason. Ur only allowed one guest for free only one time and after that u have to pay $20 each time u want to bring a guest. I think that's pretty crazy. The red light therapy room and massage tables are really nice tho. I do wish the hot tub was a bit more private but it was nice. Overall like 2.5/3 out of 5. If u don't care about any of these things, you would def like the gym. It's an eh for me personally. read more

I joined in April and have been swimming there 3-4 times per week. I really like the pool and the online reservation system they use. It's great to know that when I get to the pool I will have a lane to do my swim. I just have to remember to log on and sign up for my sessions a day in advance. Recently they expanded the reservation system so that more swimmers can workout each session by having one lane available to be shared. The pool staff, manager and lifeguards are very friendly and accommodating. I enjoy chatting with them before and after my workouts. This is my first experience swimming in a saltwater pool and I like it a lot. My skin doesn't get too dry and I don't smell like chlorine when I'm done swimming. I also like the large heated whirlpool which gives me something to look forward to when I finish my swim. The locker room is spacious and kept very clean. I like the individual shower stalls and the size of the individual lockers. read more

I've been a member at this location since Summer 2021 and have been a member of Sport&Health in the DMV since 2015. This is by far, the worst gym I've ever gone to for several reasons. I've largely left these comments in surveys they send out, but since it's just gotten worse, I figured I'd write a review. 1.) They overenrolled their membership. I used to go to the S&H Pike and Rose and the flagship location in Mclean during "rush hour" after work regularly, and while those would get crowded and you'd have to wait here and there for equipment to free up, it didn't get in the way of having a good workout. At the Olney location, some days you can't even find a parking spot and once you go into the gym, it's heinously crowded. Today, I found the last available parking spot and got into the gym thinking I was going to do a back workout....there was not ONE SINGLE station available in the main weight room, nor on the top floor and each bench/machine/cable etc had a group of 3-5 people hanging around it, which means you'll be waiting forever for it. This simply should not happen in a gym that has appropriate enrollment. There's also an overwhelming number of children in the weight room. 2.) The staff are dismissive and disrespectful and allow dangerous behavior. When you bring up the unsafe actions of other patrons, they act as if they're scared of the other patrons and like it's your responsibility to confront people. *I saw some guy repeatedly dropping 80lb dumbells in the main weight area and one bounced and landed within 2 inches of someone else's foot. I left the area and finished my workout, then went to the front desk to let someone know. At the Mclean S&H, they were very good about calling out unsafe behaviors that put other people at risk. The person I spoke to first told me "next time, you should put your foot in his way" to which I responded "so they can drop a weight on my foot and break it?" and then he suggested I confront the person verbally and when I told him that's also not an appropriate action, he said to just tell them next time (that shouldn't be the 3rd option). Despite patrons signing waivers to be in the gym, your staff should ALWAYS be monitoring and calling out unsafe behaviors that go against gym rules. I mentioned this incident in a survey, and did not get a satisfying response and felt incredibly dismissed; it's clear they don't care about your safety here. *Another time, someone was filming in the gym (fine to check your form) but this person had set up a tripod in the middle of the weight area. This is most definitely a tripping hazard as it's hard to see and is taking up space in an already-crowded gym. I went and spoke the the manager and he said "next time just let me know" and I told him the person is there right now and he seemed hesitant to go speak with the person, but I do appreciate that he ultimately went and spoke with him. I understand the gym is technically a public space, but when you see multiple tripods set up in the gym, it makes for a really uncomfortable, and frankly unsafe, space to workout. 3.) That brings me to my pettiest complaints: 1.) You have to pay an extra monthly fee to get towels at this location. Even the LA fitness on Rockville Pike had free towels and loss prevention RFIDs if that's what you're really worried about. 2.) One of the only 2 water fountains has been broken for months now. read more

I had a terrible time with the membership here. I knew I could be moving soon for work and asked specifically when signing up about how difficult it would be to cancel. I was told I just needed to let someone know before that next month. When I had to move, as anticipated, I did that but then it turns out you actually need to let someone know by phone at the corporate office and they aren't there on weekends. Also, I guess you need to give them five days notice which I'm sure was in the fine print but when I asked about it up front I wasn't told. The person at the gym said I had already been charged but he would take care of it if I just got in touch with the corporate office. I did, but they won't honor his promise. The people at the gym have been pleasant overall but they aren't given any power to resolve problems. I have already moved but am still paying for this gym. read more

First and probably the last time at one life fitness . Yesterday my friend and I got invited by two of our friends to try out the gym they go to. We arrived approximately around 5am , excited to see what it felt to try out a new gym. Paul the front desk receptionist gave us the most nastiest attitude EVER! He asked if my friend and I were new , we said yes but that my friend was a member about 3 years ago ( Paul did not say anything about that and proceed to tell us about a raffle that was going on ) we finished signing in when Paul goes " so who's paying for her " my friend thought he was joking so she said " she will pay ". He charged my friend $11 fee , my other friend did not understand why she was being charged if she was a member years ago and just wanted to try it out again . He mocked my friend and told her if she did not stop asking question he would consider the discount he was giving us .I have never felt so unwelcome somewhere until I went to this gym and got treated the way my friends and I did. Don't trust what they tell you because they just lie to your face! We signed a contract 1st quarter of 2020, way before they opened. They kept pushing the opening date out and then COVID started. A year has passed and they opened. When we signed the contract, general manager told us that we will have 7 days to try out the club and if we dont like it we can cancel for free and get out money back no questions asked. We received an email that they opened on the 2/16/21. I wrote an email on 2/22/21 to cancel the membership. General manager called me back asking why i wanted to cancel. A week has not passed, and they want to charge a cancellation fee. All they care about is ripping people off. read more
