On July 31, I was told that there would be one hard inquiry from Experian from my recent credit application for $18,000.00. I just learned that One Main did (2) hard inquiries including on my Transunion that I am disputing to be removed. My credit report has been adversely impacted as a result of this issue, I had asked the referring agent multiple times on July 31st and was told only Experian would be hit, so I am not sure how they ran both, which is not fair to me. I have called One-Main's offices multiple times (888-743-7698- credit bureau division) and at 888-864-0322 (customer complaint) and ask them to pull the audio of the call since it is recorded for quality purposes and would obviously support my disposition. The lady I spoke with (Kristin or Kaitlin) says to me she'll review the call but "it wont change the outcome." I could not believe my ears, so even if your audio supports what I am saying, you are not going to rectify the inaccuracies of your personnel providing the information that I asked about multiple times? She said no because their policy doesn't allow it. So I said, "I understand that but how do you not look at a case by case scenario in that example given your staff was obviously not clear and you will hear me ask 3 times about the credit inquires." I told her, had I known the fact (policy), I certainly would not have move forward with a loan that Im paying back later this month. I was shock but should've known given some of the reviews I read but wanted to objectively post this comment that integrity and transparency even if on audio or video that can support the consumer no longer applies, so proceed with caution. Applied through a loan through Credit Karma and got assigned to Antonio. I was told to set a time the next day for a phone call. I called and he was "away from his desk". Called a couple more times that day and several times the next day and he's always away from his desk. It's now Friday and I uploaded all my documents and still no Antonio. Applied for a loan through Upstart an hour ago and got approved in seconds for twice as much. Do not waste your time. They started asking about a car as collateral and read reviews that they essentially keep the paperwork for your car even if you pay it off. Beware beware. I'll be reporting them to Credit Karma bc I've had excellent experiences with Credit Karma other than being recommend a loan by these scam-clowns. Run far far away! I applied for a loan with One Main and a month later unexpectedly lost my job. I thought it was good that I also bought unemployment insurance, however, after a month of back and forth, my claim was denied because of some clause stating I had to be employed for the previous twelve months with no gap in employment. I was not advised of this initially and now I am struggling with anxiety and desperately hoping the appeal I submit will be approved. Beware of these predatory practices. the West Orange customer serves is the worst. Scheduled a loan appointment time and no one call. I called and was asked my car milage for a small loan. why? Then was told that since I was on short term disability that I wasn't eligible for a loan, since I had a triple heart bypass surgery last month and these funds was need to pay medical bills. I got my car loan through them because the car lot used them and I'm paying double what the original loan was I asked about the payoff amount and it's literally $100 less than what it says on my thing I paid half of my loan off and I still owe a few hundred less then the original loan!! After going against my better judgment, I applied for a loan with One Main. There was a major lack of communication from the company. When someone reached out and asked for more documents I sent them over and when I tried to reach out I left a message and I tried again the next day and left another message. No one got back to me so when I saw my application was rejected I was confused. I reached to ask why I was rejected and was told that several attempts were made in reaching out to me and I didn't answer. I literally left multiple messages and did not get one message back. I'm almost glad I was rejected because if they can straight up lie like this who knows what else they will do. And the agent I was working was not sympathetic at all. She sounded annoyed when I called. Just based off her tone alone tells me all I need to know about this company. Never again. read more

Not a fan what so ever, I should've listened when I read the other reviews but a hard head makes a soft behind. I saw on Credit Karma I had great approval rates for OneMain along with a few other lending companies. This company is in the stone age when it comes to lending. I've taken out three different loans with Lending Club (all paid back within the year, all done virtually) and never experienced anything close with Lending Club as I have with OneMain. First, everything you've entered online has to be repeated to a to a customer service rep, and again with a local branch rep within your area. Second, if by chance you don't have the approximate information needed a game of phone/email tag ensues over the course of a few days.....Lending Club pays out my loan within hours O_O Three, your credit score, paystubs, and negative marks on your report should be more than enough to decide the option for a loan or not. Not with OneMain.... I made the mistake of adding my son's child support as additional income when I really didn't have too, thinking it'd help me secure a larger loan amount for a vehicle. Now the local branch rep is asking for court orders, a birth certificate and any records of a subpoena against my son's father....uhhhhh no, that is way too much. I asked for the additional income to be dropped and was told I NEED it, do you honestly believe I'm dumb and don't know my own finances to know what you're trying to do?? The larger the loan option the better it reflects on the rep, Lending Club was the similar amount for medical expenses WITHOUT the additional income, solely based off my salary which was a tad lower last year. Uh uh, you're not fooling me, if I take this loan I'm going to be kicking myself later for it. This company is a total scam. They are really nice to you BEFORE you get a loan then after they trap you in they start lying to you about everything. They certainly do not disclose anything up front with you until it's too late when they start taking payments automatically out of your account, even with a zero balance due. I recently received a pre-approval letter from One Main Financial, and since I assumed [you know what that does] that a pre-approval means you are in a position to get the loan I went through with the application only to be told that I did not qualify! I URGENTLY advise anyone getting this notices to disregard them, they are just FALSE ADVERTISING and a con. After all this, now my credit will show this inquiry for a 2 year period. A VERY DISSAPOINTING EXPERIENCE. It is disgusting how companies like these do not care and in shows in there reckless advertising. Disgusted!!!! read more

I received my loan with OneMain Financial while I lived in Pa. My experience in PA was wonderful! I moved to NJ and referred my friend to OneMain. They promised me 100 dollars for my referral. This was 6 months ago and still never received my money. I have tried calling them 100 + times during OPEN OFFICE HOURS and they NEVER ANSWER. I have even filled out the contact form on their website and never received a call back. I even called the 800 customer service number to complain and they said they could do nothing for me and that she would connect me to the branch, which unsurprisingly enough, she couldn't get a hold of either ... this place is ridiculous. I would give it 0 stars if I could and once I pay off my loan I am done with them. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This poor woman was still learning and the supervisor (some woman in a pink top) was very degrading to her and let the other staff treat her like dirt. God bless the poor woman (the staff in training) for sticking it out. The fact that me as a customer in the waiting area needed to hear how terrible the staff are treated by this tyrant of a supervisor was just unprofessional and disrespectful. Don't trust these people. They will send you notices in the mail saying you are preselected for a loan. But actually you still have to apply and meet there guidelines. Even if you clearly show you can pay the money back they can still disapprove you. Do not waste your time with these people. read more
