Vaca in Austin and checked in for a late night taco on our first day. Service was great and fell in love with the gringo tacos (el pastor with cheese). Tried several different places and had to come back for one last visit for the gringo's at OneTaco before heading home. So good I highly recommend. I don't know how this place only has three stars. Torchys, taco deli, taco shack, sure they're good, but nothing compares to One Taco in my opinion. I think I've had every taco on the menu now (except maybe the vegetarian one). Each one is delicious in it's own way. The Gowalla is steak, avocado, cheese and bacon. BACON on a taco? Yes please. The Pastor has pastor (pork), cilantro, onion and pineapple. Amazing. What I think one taco has going for it is that the meats are pretty fresh. Unlike other places where the meat has been sitting all day, I've found that the meat is very fresh. They're also quicker than most other taco places. Plus it's located in Woodrow's making it a perfect place to hang out and grab a beer (it's a Seahawks bar so I steer clear on Sundays). Give it a shot and I personally guarantee that you will enjoy your tacos! read more

My girlfriends and I were in Austin last week and upon arriving to our hotel we googled food places nearby. We were blessed to have One taco two streets away from our hotel. I have had many tacos in my life, but these are definitely ONE of a kind! They are the BEST tacos in Austin, hands down. My friends and I went almost every night and requested the usual. The cooks were so friendly and even remembered our names since we went so much. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone. I never new breakfast tacos were a thing until traveling to Austin, and One Taco was one of my favorite places to get them. The menu is small and simple (6 items), but I've been able to order custom tacos virtually every time I was there. I have not had lunch there, but if you want some great breakfast tacos at a great price ($2.75 each), give One Taco a shot. read more

Here is a little story about a couple was enjoying the SXSW festivities, doing a little bar hopping, taking in as much free music as they could on Friday. Inevitably this couple got the munchies and they knew that chips and queso would be the perfect fit. They looked up and down 6th street and noticed One Taco near Little Woodrows. They looked at each other and their eyes lit up as they said together..."Queso!!". The wife was tasked with getting the queso and the husband headed to get the beer, which is a great combination on any day. As she walked up to the trailer she was getting very excited about the hot ooey goey mess she was planning on eating without any worry of all of those damn calories. She made some pleasantries with the staff at One Taco, ordered a couple of steak tacos, and then asked for the glorious queso. At that point the wife's heart broke into a million little non-queso having pieces... she was told they were all out. All out on a Friday afternoon she wondered, yes the employee confirmed, all out of chips and queso. Seriously, all out on a Friday afternoon???? Okay the wife though, at least I'll get chips and salsa. But those dreams were squashed as well... they were out of those too. The wife and husband tried to drown their sorrows in the steak taco's but their disappointment of the lack of queso overpowered their entire experience. One Taco, maybe they''ll be back one day but you have scorned this couple. read more

This place is right around the corner from my office. Tacos here are slighly upscale for a taco truck .Service is hipster &super friendly. T I like that they offer an individual size guacamole appetizer . Taco's are about $.50 more then my neignborhood places but I'm prettyy sure that has to do with the location. Never again. I've given One Taco multiple chances to redeem themselves. Firstly, the tacos are overpriced. They are tiny and not worth $3. Secondly, there really isn't anything incredible about the taste. They satisfy that quick taco fix but there is nothing fabulous about it. Thirdly, the service is absolutely terrible. I've tried to order by phone. They don't do phone orders. You can only order online. I placed my first online order for 9 or 10 tacos and about 25 minutes later received a call from the girl telling me they needed a payment. So I paid with my credit card over the phone. They charged my card twice the same amount around $30 (seriously, $30). Then they credited back one of the transactions. Later I see an additional charge for a completely different amount. After searching for a phone number (eventually found it on Yelp!) I called to inquire and the girl had no idea how to explain it. She said that was just the way their credit card system worked and that it should "drop off" eventually. In the end I got the additional amount credited back but only after the owner got involved. The tacos were delivered almost an hour after I placed the online order. I've also tried on multiple occasion to stop by on the way into work to avoid the delivery hassle and even though they say they open at 7:30a they really don't. Sometimes I've gone by as late as 8am and they still weren't open. I'm not really sorry to say that I won't ever be ordering One Taco again. read more

I was on my way home from a night out and I thought it would be a great spot for a late night taco...WRONG. One taco had terrible service- 1. They put all of their food away 30 before closing an only offered chicken tacos. No salsa queso or chips. When I food was delivered 2 chicken tacos they were dropped on the table by a snotty cashier who replied "it's not my business" when I remarked that she wasn't going to keep customers with that kind of an attitude. Hour later still fighting with Uber Eats to send a driver to pick up the order. Never again. Bad service. No one wants to make this crappy experience right. Dear One Taco.... You suck. I would rather have a million other tacos than your one taco. Besides your one taco is only filled with cheese. My fiance and I were out to enjoy our night, and I have to say it was a real downer. The first time we went to one taco it was great. After raving about it to our friends, we went back (with our friends) and it was blah at best. And then came the other night, I thought "ok, I'll give one more chance, they're one for one right now in my book." Totally a mistake.....what's the saying fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Well, definitely not going to happen again. We ordered a steak taco, Queso Flameado, and Queso. BTW I messed up---thought it was Quesdilla Flameado....my bad...Well our order came out and I would of gladly tried to eat what we had, but absolutely could not even get the cheese out of the bowl thingy. My FORK BROKE for god sakes because the Queso Fameado or whatever was just a big glob of guuuuu or glu. Well, so I went back to the window and said to the girl working "hey, I messed up, thought I was ordering a quesadilla and all, but this is just not edible what you gave us. " Well she said ok i'll fix you a quesadilla. She brings it out, basically throws in on the table and doesn't say a word. Hell, I work as a waitress and would not ever treat someone like that. What was brought to us was measly cheese quesadilla that quite frankly sucked, which is why I started this ramble with such. Not only that but a cheese quesadilla there cost $2.49 and Queso Flameado is $4.50. So I totally felt cheated out of my whole 2 dollars on top of everything........If I could I would give TacoOne zero stars. Save your money, and go somewhere else. read more

This place is about a block from my office, so it's become my default lunch stop. I've had good and so-so here, but the experience has largely been positive. My general rule of thumb: get something with steak, as it's generally the more flavorful choice. Proving my point is the Gowalla taco, crammed with marinated beef, huge avocado slices and bacon bits. Oh, unless you're a vegetarian, avoid the veggie. It was dominated by a thick slice of unmelted cheese that had the consistency of tofu. Blech. read more

Visiting Austin for the first time and staying near this little gem of a taco truck. The wife and I tried the original chicken, the original steak and the gringa. Delicious one and all! The menu is small but growing, and they wisely are staying open late night (fresh tacos make much better drunk food than bland pizza!)
