Awful produce. The woman that manages the CSA is rude and unprofessional. Buy your produce elsewhere!

Shenot Farm was founded by the Shenot family in the 1800s. Generations of family members raised…read moreanimals and grew produce. Today, family members grow vegetables such as corn and fruits such as apples. According to the family's website, they use both conventional and organic farming practices. On the farm's website, I also read that throughout the year, Shenot Farm offers events such as hayrides; pick-your-own flowers, apples, and pumpkins; and pumpkin-smashes. In the autumn they sell flowers, pumpkins, cornstalks, Thanksgiving turkeys, and fruit baskets, and in the winter they sell Christmas trees and wreaths. On a Saturday, my husband and I visited this farm's market to browse their foods. We parked our vehicle in their free parking lot. Inside the market, we saw foods such as lettuce, cabbage, green beans, brussels sprouts, beets, plums, sausages, chicken meats, eggs, milk, cheeses, apple ciders, cookies, pies, fudges, popcorns, jams, bread loaves, bagels, seasonings, sauces and dressings, salsas, applesauces, syrups, dessert mixes, granolas, teas, honeys, ice creams, etcetera! We also saw some non-food items such as candles and t-shirts. I selected an orange-colored "cheddar" cauliflower head, apple crisp mix, caramel-apple-pie fudge, and jars of banana butter, strawberry jelly, and apple butter. My husband and I had not previously eaten a few of the unique products, so we felt excited to try them. At the checkout counter, an employee promptly greeted us, accurately rang up our purchase, carefully bagged our foods, and thanked us. Each food cost roughly several dollars.

This was our second year in a row at Shenot Farm for pumpkin picking. There was a larger selection…read moreof pumpkins last year but we did go a weekend earlier. They were bringing pumpkin over in a box from another section of the farm, then placing them on the ground. So there was still a lot of pre-cut pumpkins to choose from. The cost to walk up to the patch is $2 and the hay ride is $5 I believe. The store has a great selection of fresh produce, desserts, and some meat options. We love Shenot Farms!

On a Saturday, my husband and I visited the retail store. When we entered the store, the employee near the door did not greet us. As we walked around the two floors, we saw foods such as pumpkins, apples, corn, tomatoes, apple ciders, pies, cookies, chips, jellies, honeys, chocolate bars, and even Penn State ice cream. We also saw non-food products such as tote bags, holiday decorations, serving trays, and greeting cards. I picked out a bag of honey-crisp apples, a box of peach-cobbler mix, a loaf of zucchini bread, a peanut-butter chocolate bar, and a jar of fig preserves. Another employee rang up our purchase, processed our credit card, carefully bagged our foods, and thanked us.

The decor is beautiful and you are greeted by a rustic and inviting setting when you drive up and again when you walk in. The customer service was very friendly and had that touch you see less of nowadays. It's the kind of place that makes you feel good inside and out. I bought an apple crumble and will likely pick up a pumpkin pie next time.

This ALDI does not have a large selection of products, but it does have low prices. The departments contain fruits, vegetables, dairy and eggs, meats, seafoods, breads, frozen foods, pantry items, beverages, personal-care items, pet products, etcetera. The available brands are generic and name-brand. Two years ago, I purchased groceries from this ALDI for delivery through DoorDash. Recently, we shopped here in person. My husband said that the quality of their meats was low, and he even threw away entire steaks, so we no longer purchase meats here. We, however, do feel very impressed with the quality of their crab cakes as well as their sugar-free energy drink mixes. Please note that you must insert a quarter to get a shopping cart, which will be returned when you return the cart later. Furthermore, the cashier will charge you 12 cents for a paper bag.

This week I was so happy to find that my items were exceptional and I'm talking about my bananas. Weird but that was one thing that made me hesitant about adding them to my cart. This store is my favorite Aldi and honestly the store I shop most often. The staff is friendly and willing to help even after their shift. It's a clean store. Items are stocked well placed. The GM is Emery and he is friendly and professional. Thank you Aldi.
