We got 3 different bowls to go. They have free fruit/mint flavored water. Bags are available at the utensil counter for you to bag yout containers. I got my 3 bowls it was alreadypacked in a bag, the employee asked it I was going a long ways and offered me a larger bag (it was pouring outside) . I declined the bigger bag as I had a tote that could carry everything. I want to mention the service my son and I received here. The guys were genuinely friendly, warm and welcoming. On a day when I was already half soaked and cold little niceties are appreciated. From the moment we walked in the greeting was so warm, like come let's take care of you and feed you. A simple gesture more establishments need to extend, this is the first impression of service. The restaurant was clean, food was great and service top tier. When I got home and unpacked the bowls I saw that they had put rubber bands around each bowl to secure them and our sauces had been plastic wrapped so they wouldn't pop apart. You can order via a menu that you mark up with either customizing a bowl or pre-made bowls. I chose to customize my bowl. Liked how they let you chose 2 proteins. I chose the bulgogi and garlic shrimp with radish, kimchi and scallion. There are various sauces & you can choose 2 as well. I chose the Korean BBQ & sweet & spicy. The service is very quick. Really solid lunch bowl. I ordered the Medium size with 2 proteins, I got the bulgogi and the chicken herbs with basically all of the toppings (why not! It's unlimited!). And got rice and noodles as base. The order definitely felt like a large. It was so overfilling that there was a rubber band keeping it closed. I definitely felt like I got a good value. Only thing is I would not recommend the chicken herbs. It was dry and terrible. But the bulgogi was excellent ! I am stuffed. I did end up eating the entire medium bowl. Food, service, and the ambience was all of that and a bag of chips!!! On my way to an appointment, I came out of the train station right in front of Ongi. It immediately caught my eye because of the inviting marketing that was undertaken, aside from being in a prime spot and super organized and clean. I did not have time to go in and explore, but made a mental note to check Yelp and possibly visit after my appointment. I almost forgot, but I was waiting for some time and remember to check Yelp and the restaurant menu which is my custom. So, lucky me.., the restaurant was empty (the bitter cold may have contributed to that), so I had the full attention of Chris and some of the other staff. Chris was helpful in helping me decide on a flavor of the chicken appetizer. They have three flavors which include soy garlic, salt and pepper, and sweet and spicy. He gave me a sample of the soy garlic and the sweet and spicy. We laughed over how hard of a decision it is to make, but I chose the soy garlic. I also selected bao... soy garlic (only because I've never had soy garlic chicken in a bao before), shrimp, and Bulgogi. While Chris was preparing my food to go, one of the chefs was roasting the corn that they use for the bowls. OMG!!! It smelled and looked soooo goooooooddd! Unfortunately, cannot consume corn anymore, so I felt tortured lol. Thinking back, I should've asked for one kernel LOL. Once I was home, the first thing I snacked on or the soy garlic chicken nuggets. They were tasty, not heavily breaded, and a great snack. In addition, the portion is enough for 2-3 people, so I have a snack for tomorrow as well. I'm going to make a salad with the leftovers. The bao were on the smallish side, but definitely something I would return for... whatever sauce Chris spread on the bao for the soy garlic, I want that on the shrimp when I revisit. That's not to say the shrimp wasn't delicious, but I think that it would be extra scrumptious. The Bulgogi was standard and quite tasty.
