I MISS THIS PLACE!! As a student at BYUH in Laie I used to love making the quick five minute drive to Kahuku to visit Ono Yo. Their frozen yoghurt is the best on the island but the only downside is how far they are from town. Now that I live in Honolulu I never get time to visit this place but it's a definite stop you have to make if you are out on the North Shore. There are these awesome "creations" you can try that consist of yoghurt and a variety of different toppings. He has a list of ones you can choose or you can create your own. I usually create my own with mango, strawberries, dark chocolate flakes, and condensed milk. All of the toppings are very good quality and the fruits are always fresh and delicious. You can get a loyalty card so that if you buy ten times you will get a free medium one. I used to fill up those fast. The prices might seem expensive compared to other yogurt places but trust me for the quality you get it's SO worth it. I wish they would have another truck come to Honolulu, I would be there all the time! Just found out this place is accepting credit cards now, which is great! read more

After Fumi's (AMAZING) spicy garlic shrimp, I was craving something sweet and COLD and thanked my lucky stars when I saw this charming yogurt truck. I ordered their "Tropical" concoction (forgot the full name of it), and while it was *pretty* good, it definitely wasn't better than our LA frozen yogurts. It lacked "sparkle," if that makes sense. I also live just a few minutes away from this truck, and I seriously CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!! I've always been a fan of fro-yo, but this stuff is WAAAAY BETTER than the fro-yo shops available around the island...Orange Tree, Menchies, etc. You can really taste the quality in the product and if you were to compare it to those other places, you'll definitely notice the difference. It was our first time trying Froyo & boy was it delicious! We tried something called "All Nuts" (granola, honey, & all kinds of nuts). The workers were friendly and overall we had a great experience. I would definitely recommend others to give this place a try. read more

Simply a yummy place to get frozen yogurt! Discovered this gem (which is a bit hidden) next to the Giovanni's in Kahuku. Delicious! Plus they had lilikoi butter as a topping (TO DIE FOR), which I haven't seen at any other yogurt joint. Can't wait to come here again. read more

The yogurt is awesome here. All the toppings taste so fresh, and it's a perfect way to cool down after the beach. The only problem I had was the fact that the boy working had friends over talking to him. We waited behind them for a conversation, then waited to be served because he was making his friends a bowl of free yogurt before taking our order. I liked how they took care in preparing each item and did not just slop the toppings on the frozen yogurt. I love that I can walk down the road to Ono Yo. Plain yogurt by its self or with creations is really good. They do offer an alternative flavor everyday aside from plain yogurt. I do wish the customer service was better. I understand the pressure gets put on them when it's packed, but when the owner of the truck is working; he makes sure that he shows great customer service. A lot of the young working wouldn't even say hi back or smile. It would really change the experience if they showed aloha:) read more

I absolutely love this place! I remember when they first opened and only had a couple flavors. Now they have every type of combo you can think of. I love the PB&J as it is not to sweet but perfect blend of yogurt, strawberry and peanut shavings. My whole family loves the wild berry and fruit bowl. I Love Ono Yo! I spent 8 days in the North Shore with my family and had Ono Yo 4 of those days. My nephew mentioned that it was made from Non Fat Greek Yogurt. Besides the nutritional plus, it tastes WONDERFUL! They had plain & a different flavor everyday. I tried each one, but decided to stick to the plain. There are different bowl creations you can choose from. The price is a little bit more than other yogurt shops, but expected in Hawaii. What a treat! I was in a group of 4 adults, & we all got different flavors. I got a coupon for a free topping with purchase upon my check-in to Ono Yo. Flavor of the day was either Plain or Guava. I got the "Slice of Heaven" cup with the guava yogurt, which was great, & I would get it again. Ono is also keeping up with the times, since they accept cards, in a "trailer park food court" where all the other restaurants with wheels are cash only. Ok here's the deal. I live on the mainland, and come back to Oahu about three times a year. Every time I return I have to, have to, have to have my ONO YO! It's by far the best frozen yogurt I've ever had! Also turns out the owners do their very best to make it as healthy and fresh as possible by using actual real and fresh fruit and not using additives like Red #5. Absolutely to each his own, but Ono Yo beats Pink Berry, Yogurt Land, and any other large frozen yogurt chain, in quality, taste, and service. I've been coming here since they first opened and in all these years I'm so happy that I can confidently recommend Ono Yo to anyone and know the menu and staff will consistently offer the same exceptional service and items that I love. My favorite on the menu is the Wild Berry Bowl. They use fresh ingredients and their yogurt has soooo much flavor, it's seriously better than any other frozen yogurt I've ever had.
