For the last several years Onsight Chiropractic has been my go to place whenever I was experiencing neck/back pain. Recently I was having sever neck pain. I came to Onsight after reading a review about another patient who dealt with vestibular migraines and how it was helpful to include chiropractic care in her arsenal for combatting them. Regular migraines started with me with peri-menopause and after I experienced one vestibular migraine I was on the hunt to figure out how to stave those off. Enter Onsight Chiropractic! I was pleased to find that Onsight also accepted my insurance. Dr. Jas has been a huge asset in realignment, targeted muscle work, and even a round of cupping which I found hugely beneficial. She is kind, hugely knowledgeable, listens deeply to all your issues, and is fully invested in your care and recovery. In addition to working to stave off migraines, the overall benefit is helping counteract the hours of sitting at a computer all day, working. I have not experienced another vestibular migraine since starting care with Dr. Jas. There are lots of factors at play with migraine, and I've also adjusted my nutrition and exercise routine to help mitigate them. Also, sleep! Sleep is key. Chiropractic care is now part of my routine to stave off migraines. I appreciate that all the practitioners here come from a sports background and all the methods feel grounded in sports medicine and therapy. I am extremely happy with the therapy I received from Dr. Villalobos. I had been in pain and out of adjustment for several weeks. She was able to adjust and work my skeletal fascia to relieve my pain. The body work technique (like pressure points) was amazing. I will definitely return. I have a strange case of symptoms, and Onsight has been an instrumental part of managing them. I'm also new to chiropractic care, so this review is for anyone considering chiropractic care in general, and anyone who might have similar symptoms that I have had. First, my symptoms: For the past three years, I have developed intense seasonal vestibular migraines, starting in early February and lasting through March. This was the diagnosis after two years of tests and unabated symptoms. The symptoms began with *intense* vertigo, and debilitating ringing in one ear. I also started to lose hearing in the affected ear. I was screened for Meniere's disease and a brain tumor, among other health issues. Before I went to Onsight, I had hearing tests, a couple of rounds of steroid medication, an MRI, restrictions on food and drinks, and a very unsavory set of procedures that involved needles and my impacted ear. All of this was horrible. The steroids were intense, and caused sleeplessness; as I tapered off of them, the vertigo would come back and I would go back on the steroids. If you've never been on steroids for 6 weeks, let me tell you: They got me through my symptoms by overpowering them (and me). It. Was. Intense. The MRI involved me going head first into the MRI machine and nearly losing my mind from claustrophobia (if you are not claustrophobic, you've never gone head first into the MRI machine). The procedures on my ears, I was told, had a 98% success rate, but I turned out to be part of the 2%. There were other parts of my care, and I have nothing but good things to say about my care team--I just turned out to be a rare case. This past year, I made a few different changes: I got a hearing aid, I carefully avoided migraine triggers, and I got chiropractic care from Dr. Cheng. This constellation of caretaking has worked like a charm! As for the chiropractic care itself: I went weekly during the seasonal time period that I had been getting these migraines, and then Dr. Cheng carefully tapered me off that frequency. The chiropractic care was incredibly helpful in alleviating built-up stresses in my neck and upper back, and the results were immediate. He didn't just crack my neck and back; he massaged my affected areas, and used electric stimulation to loosen and warm up my affected areas. Important to my care was Dr. Cheng's work to help me care for myself at home. He showed me a number of exercises I could easily do at home. I appreciate how dedicated Dr. Cheng is to his vocation--he really loves what he does, and has told me about his ongoing studies in his field. As a teacher, I particularly appreciate that he continues to study not just because it's required but because he's genuinely invested in what he does. I learned that chiropractic care is way more than cracking joints. It's also like physical therapy, sports medicine, and exercise coaching rolled into one. Matt was great. He'd check in throughout the massage to be sure he was getting the exact spot of pain. I had a hard time identifying it on my own but he got down into the layers of tissue and bingo. Haven't had a massage since COVID hit so having worked out and moved a ton, this is exactly what I needed. I booked my appointment with Matt and I was really impressed. He was super attentive and proactive in the way he asked questions. He made aure my needs were met and asked if it was too much or too little pressure. He dug out a ton of knots that were bothering me and I just walked out of there much more relaxed. Pricing seems pretty average with $100 for 60 minutes and $140 for 90 minutes. Parking is adequate since it's all street parking along 5th and Cedar St. I will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend Matt to anyone and everyone. read more

WARNING BE VERY CAREFUL! This office overcharged me $120 over the Copay I was due to pay. During my intake somehow I signed a document that allowed them to charge me for services above my Copay. In no way was this explained to me clearly and as far as I'm concerned I was cheated. Dr. Cheng is an incredible chiropractor. I have been suffering from lower back pain for the past 7 months and through a coordinated plan combining his regular treatments and physical therapy, I am finally get back to my regular fitness and movement level. Onsight's philosophy revolves around a sports therapy process which digs deeper to resolve issues. The soft tissue work and muscular wisdom about the body transcends typical chiropractor "bone cracking", which has never made any significant lasting changes to my body. Dr. Cheng is addressing multiple contributing factors to my issues and helping me to solve problems vs. temporarily cracking them away. I highly recommend Onsight and Dr. Cheng in particular. I've been lucky enough to work with Dr. Nick for three session so far, and the results have been pretty amazing. I had an ankle injury six years ago and I tried everything -- massage, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, even surgery, and I have still struggled to get range of motion, stability, and proper function back into my ankle and to be able to run more than about 25 minutes. And running is my passion! After doing a complete assessment, Nick used several different modalities for my ankle including soft tissue work from the foot up the lower leg; some osseous adjustments; and a bunch of physical therapy/movement work with e-stim. I could tell after the first treatment that the combination was working -- things were shifting around and my ankle felt more stable than it had in a while. And this is six years after the injury, so it's been hard to get a good response to treatment. After three sessions with Dr. Nick, I was able to run for nearly 45 minutes longer than I had been able to for the past six years. A proud new member of Dr Nick's fan club - I initially went to see him due an injury I acquired after a very active weekend with a very active 2 year old - one treatment is all it took for me to be able to return to my regular workout routine. As someone who's been on and off adjustment tables for most of my life, I know just how hard it is to find a good chiropractor. When I first came to Onsight earlier this year, I was in so much pain. The clinicians are receptive to your input and are clearly invested in your health and well being. No one errs willingly..... I wouldn't say I was better after the visit but, chronic lower back issues that come and go rarely are. I'm financially broke as all hell, so that $175 first visit hurts quite a bit. This is my first ever yelp review, and it couldn't be going to a better Dr. I first came to Onsight with foot pain that had been bothering me for many years. Dr. Nick listened to me carefully, asked a number of appropriate and deep questions about the pain, and then set to work. Through even this first examination Dr. Nick seemed to immediately understand the source of my foot pain, and very quickly found other areas in my leg that I had never before noticed were hurting. While explaining to me what was going on, he exposed a wider and more interconnected network of pain than I was expecting and calmly talked me through a plan that would not just address the symptom of foot pain, but that would help strengthen my hips and legs to alleviate the underlying problems. Since then, I have been working on this plan and it has done wonders. I sort of hate homework, but the exercises he has given me have all been reasonable, and he pushes just hard enough. While pain still is present, it is diminishing, I can name it, and I am understanding that there is a path forward. I had a flare-up recently and Dr. Nick was able to find time in his schedule to have extra visits to address this issue until it went away. My wife is also seeing Dr. Nick now, and the other day, when she was not doing well, he saw her that same day, helped her out, and called to check up on her the next day. Which brings me to my final point, he is a really nice guy! He is very willing to talk about his work, how he is making the decisions about the care he is providing, the general philosophy behind chiropractic practice, etc. He also listens well and puts up with me going on about my pain, needs, and concerns. I came in with excruciating pain to both hip flexors from running. Nick is my chiropractor, along with the needed adjustments. He gave me strength exercises and stretches to carry out on my own. I can now run with no hip flexor pain. I came back about a month ago when I started to have low back pain during running. A quick adjustment and new stretching for my quads and I no longer have back pain either. I'm an active 46 year old and come to see Eddie Espinosa on an as-needed basis - He's fantastic! He has a comprehensive understanding of the body and uses many methods to work it out. He is also a fount of knowledge and is happy to share when I ask him questions - Which I do, a LOT. I moved from SF and was very nervous about finding a new chiropractic team in the East Bay. When I first met Dr. Lelke, I was pleasantly surprised at her initial evaluation and understanding of my illness EDS and myofascial treatment. Dr. Espinoza is fantastic! Not only does he work on the muscle or tissue that is acting up, but he also explains to you what exactly is the issue and what he is doing to help relieve the pain. He also takes time to explain little exercises we can do at home to help the recovery! I like to call them "low hanging fruit"! That just by itself makes the visit worth it l, so that I can be more conscious about not repeating anything I may have done to aggravate. I feel amazing after the few visits I went to see him. I recommend him to everyone to come at the very least for an adjustment But, I definitely recommend him to anyone who engages in moderate physical activity on a regular basis, so that he can provide his recommendations on ways to improve your form and posture. Dr Nick really knows what he is doing. I have 2 herniated discs in my neck as a result of a car accident. I tried many chiropractors and PTs, but only a very expensive "Craniopath" in Los Gatos could help me stay free of neck pain. When I moved to Berkeley and stopped seeing him regularly, my neck issues flared up. Fortunately, I discovered Dr Nick, who is even better! He has taught me exercises I can do at home, and now I am well again, without needing constant care. I highly recommend him. And he has a great sense of humor, too :) read more

Dr. Johanna Lelke was very thorough in her assessment and over the course of 6 weeks I went from a laundry list of injuries, including a torn/swollen hamstring to running the Ragnar relay this past weekend and feeling strong! The combination of Graston, chiropractic adjustments and Active release therapy (ART) was absolutely perfect. It was also really helpful and important that Johanna herself is an accomplished athlete and fully understood my eagerness to get back to running and even had suggestions of how to start back up safely. I am a bit shocked at the reviews here. I went to Dr. Lelke for several appointments, and have to say that I really didn't gain much out of it. Not only did I feel she couldn't give me the full adjustment that I needed, but her treatment really did nothing to help expedite the healing of my injury. On top of that, the pricing is not very transparent and I was a bit shocked by the invoice that I finally received, with her charging over 500 dollars / appointment to my insurance with very little correlation. In all, Berkeley has a great set of chiros that are really magnificent but I can't say that I had that type of experience here. read more

I was experiencing a lot of back pain recently, most likely from working out and going heavy on the weights. I was desperate to find a chiropractor on a Sunday because I was so uncomfortable and could not even do basic things such as getting dressed without a lot of pain. I'm so glad I found Onsight Chiropractic through Yelp. I was able to book an appointment same day through their website, then Dr. Nick calls me shortly to confirm appointment and answer any questions I had prior (loved that he checks in personally before appt). The practice is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Berkeley with plenty of free street parking. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly and the place is super clean!! Dr. Nick was super thorough with my exam. He provided me with a special massage (I forgot what it was called, specifically for my fascia) and some spinal adjustments. I felt sooooo much better afterwards and the pain dramatically decreased. He even showed me ways to improve my squats and deadlifts. I'm so happy I made the drive to Berkeley from Vallejo to see him. Came in to treat my hamstring that has been hurt for a couple of months. I saw Dr. Nick for 6 sessions and my pain has been gone since session 4! They showed me good strengthening exercises that I could do on my own time. I also got adjustments here that I felt were really helpful. I highly recommend Onsight Chiropractic. I have been in for two different problems over the past few years and have always been immensely pleased with the care I have received and results I have experienced. Dr. Elke and her team are extremely knowledgeable and professional. After a through but timely diagnostic examination I was able to receive treatment that was very effective and recommendations for exercises and stretches that have enabled me to continue the improvements at home. Eddie Espinosa is knowledgeable and awesome at what he does. I have never had such an effective yet gentle neck adjustment from a chiropractor and he has really helped my hip pain from driving, sitting and bicycling. Dr. Nick is a life changer! I have had back problems since I was 11 (30 years). I have seen a countless chiropractors over the years, and have never found anyone who was as comprehensive as Dr. Nick. I have great insurance, with unlimited chiropractic, so most doctors just do band aid work on me, which helps for a few days but doesn't solve the problem long term. To add to the issue, I work at a computer, and this is not something I can change. I went to Dr. Nick because I was experiencing a severe pinched nerve. I had been seeing a chiropractor who practices Spinal Network chiropractic for a hip problem, but I didn't think that would help with a pinched nerve. I had also plateaued with my previous doctor and had not made any progress in 6 months, so I gave Dr. Nick a try, and I sure am glad I did! Dr. Nick has helped so much! He uses various techniques, and does different things each visit. I feel like I'm getting three practitioners in one with him: Chiropractic; Massage Therapy; and Physical Therapy. He gives me rehab exercises to do at home to strengthen and improve long term. I hadn't run without pain in almost a year, and I successfully ran without pain after just 5 visits to Dr. Nick. He even said: if you aren't making significant progress in about 5 visits, I am not doing something right. Well, clearly, he's doing everything right! Also he has never told me to stop working at a computer, so I appreciate that he is meeting me where I am. For the first time in 30 years, I truly have hope for the long-term health of my spine and alignment thanks to Dr. Nick! I had a trampoline accident where I injured my neck. Now I don't recommend trampolines but I do recommend Dr. Nick! The injury was causing knots in my upper back, numbness in my fingers, and muscle atrophy in my left triceps muscle. During the initial evaluation, he was able to identify the problem which was a pinch in my lower cervical spine. He provided nerve flossing techniques, exercises to strengthen certain muscles to prevent any further damage, and body work to help me feel amazing after the appointment. I will definitely be back here and recommend him if you have some sort of injury. There's a small gym there that has tools so he can demonstrate the techniques for at home exercises. The place is a bit inconspicuous but once you get in it's spacious, clean, and welcoming. read more

She has been able to help problems in my back that I've been trying to get help with for YEARS -- many other practitioners have tried, and have not gotten the results that Dr. Lelke has achieved in a few months. She is incredibly thorough, working on muscles etc that actually support the spine, so it doesn't get pulled right back after leaving her office (which was the case with all other chiropractors I've been to).
