Their main attraction is their high quality deli food, magnificent imported cheeses, charcuterie deli meats, freshly baked buns, baguettes, rye bread, European specialty food items (jars of pickles, preserves, spreads, soup mixes, dumplings, imported chocolates and candies, and magazines to name a few). Hungry patrons frequent their phenomenal hot food counter, specializing in home style authentic German, Polish, and Austrian foods. Hot takeaway lunch menu at "Little Imbiss" includes Schnitzel (fried breaded pork cutlet), home fries, knackwurst (sausages), sauerkraut, Hungarian goulash, daily soups (creamy mushroom is a personal fave). Walking inside you're instantly transported to an idyllic place, a home away from home. No wonder their hot food lunch counter is nicknamed "Little Imbiss" - Imbiss is a German word for a snack place often a small family-run food stand or street food shop. They have a deli meats counter where you can buy cold cuts, salads, meats, sausages, charcuterie, cured meats, European and Canadian cheeses. A bakery section where you'll find freshly baked baguettes, buns, and rye bread, pumpernickel bread. As well as imported European chocolates, marmalades, pickles, crackers, potato dumplings mixes. But really, this place wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for their loyal customers, excellent owners-managers and their friendly staff. Family-owned for almost 30 years; the co-owner's father was an excellent trained chef who worked at an exclusive Toronto country club known as the Granite Club and wanted to give people a taste of Europe. For the past 30 years his family has honoured his lifetime dream of bringing people a taste of Europe in Canada by providing top tier service and quality food to the community. I once witnessed the staff really take the time to go out of their way to assist an elderly man who needed help with finding his groceries. She patiently walked around the store speaking to him in German and helped the gentleman with a smile on her face. The kindness that I've witnessed here is also what makes it so memorable. If you saw my review of Wisła, you know that this trip was on Holy Thursday, and just as before this place was PACKED. The lines to order meat (fresh or deli) were long as was the check out line. But we'll get to that. As I walked in, I was immediately struck with the larger assortment of products. I found my beloved Almette spread, and was willing to pay a high price no matter what because it is so difficult to obtain when I'm back at home. As I was scanning the dairy case, I came across Mlekovita's packaged Gołka cheese. For those who want to be accurate, this isn't oscypek, but it was close enough for me. The salty, smoked, "squeaky" cheese is a treat I haven't had in years. I took four packages.. I threw a couple of other items into my basket, and then hopped in line to check out. I didn't get any of the pastry items, but they looked so good, and I'm sure if I was local, I'd be ordering far too often. When I got to the counter, I asked the young girl to get me some krem oliwkowy from the cosmetics shelf behind the register. I was very excited to see the ziaja product in the small green pot. This cream has a scent that evokes a sense of nostalgia for me, but it is so rich and nourishing and it was a favorite of mine that I haven't had in years. I ordered once on amazon for a ridiculous price that I couldn't justify. So to see it here made my day. I checked out speedily - there is something to say for Polish efficiency, and even got a free Wawel chocolate bar. I would definitely say that the staff here are must more friendly than in the other store I visited. It made for a much more pleasant experience. Currently (April 2025), there is a lot of construction going on on Dundas Street, so I highly recommend using the side street at the light to access the back parking area. It is much easier especially if you need make a left turn out onto Dundas.

We would have gotten some bags of frozen blueberry or cherry or meat pierogis too, but we had too far to drive to keep them frozen. Everyone we spoke with here was so friendly. They had tons of delicious looking cheeses, meats, jarred spreads & pickles, and other condiments, as well as Polish candies. Try stuffing a cocktail tomato with it! Try it with some Ćevapi. We also really like the burek - a huge filo pastry disk filled with cheese or spinach and cheese. A 1/4 of a burek makes a great lunch split between 2 (have it with a salad). They renovated the bakery section in the last couple of years and in-house made the sandwich look really good.
