Yummy Market does not stand behind the products that it sells. If it turns out to be bad at the point of sale, then they do not offer a refund. Instead they point at their 7 day returns policy and say no return. I purchased four blocks of Hewitt's Goat Butter from Yummy Market on the last day of February 2025. It clearly says on the wrapper to "keep frozen until use". Despite this instruction, Yummy Market keeps the product in an open refrigerator. It turns out that one of the four blocks I purchased was bad. But I did not realize this until I was ready to use the goat butter about 2.5 months later. I rode my bicycle to Yummy Market yesterday to return the bad block of butter, with the receipt. Unfortunately though, it was after 7 days so Yummys Market did not accept the return. This policy tells me that Yummy Market, a grocery store, does not stand behind its product. If the product is bad when they sell it to the end-consumer, then it is the end-consumer that foots the expense, when it should be the grocery store. Very poor service and policy. I do not recommend Yummys Market. After purchasing the product, I place the goat butter in my pannier, then cycle for about 20 minute to get home (it is cold the end of February, so very low risk the goat butter goes bad) and then I put the product directly in the freezer. The butter remains in the freezer until a few days before I am ready to use it, at which point I transfer it from freezer to fridge. I mention this because I am very confident in saying that this block of butter was already bad when I purchased it. I'll say again, I do not recommend Yummy Market. They do not stand behind the products that they sell.

Disgusting! Lots Worms! It said the packing date is Sep 21 3018 and best before March 2019. I purchased on Oct 3rd 2018. We ate so many pieces. And then found there are so many worms inside! So disgusting!! We have eaten some worms! Very disappointed with Yummy market! Will never go there any more. I bet they put fake label, especially packing date on their products, foods!! Don't trust this market!!! Please check your products before take it, please!!

Visiting Yummy Market is really a cultural experience!! I still cannot get over the buckets of marinated fishes!! I can understand about pickled veggies but a whole fish?? Now I am going to ask my Russian coworkers how they eat those?! They just looks super fishy! There are so many different products which I never see before.. all in Russian which I have no idea what they are...and all those loose candies... As a non Europeans/Russians/Ukrainians, I looked lost and stood out like a sore thumb.. But it proves how authentic Yummy Market is!!

Yummy market a very interesting European food experience. There is an aisle with loose candies from Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Germany... They even have the Mozart candies (Mozartkugel). Check it out if you like pistachio and marzipan. There is a yummy cafe located near the exit with lots of yummy gelato.

I come here mainly for Russian/Eastern European specialty items that I cannot get anywhere else, and in that respect Yummy Market is excellent. Very good deli meats and smoked fish, great selection of pickled foods and breads. The candy and sweets aisles practically send me back in time -- and set me back a hefty sum of money. The customer service is fine -- for Russian, anyway. But unfortunately I have to agree with some of the other reviews: I cannot vouch for the quality and freshness of the produce and prepared foods, and even some of the sweets can be a bit disappointing (sweets/baked goods that are packed in-house are sometimes quite dry). You're better off with things that are sealed/industrially packed. And always check the expiration date.

This place is a gem if you are looking for food items from Eastern Europe. My previous forays here were limited to picking up smoked Salmon, Caviar and some cheese from that region. However I would recommend them for their baked goods and some dessert offerings (more on that later) The place is better accessed via car but one can venture out and take TTC here as well. Located in a strange location of the main drag this is one of those you blink you miss kind of place unless you know where you are going. To give you an idea this is a tad smaller version of Starsky's grocery stores. The variety is at par with Starsky's IMO so if you don't want to venture outside Toronto this is a safe bet. Plenty of hard to find items and oh so impossible to find ingredients. I am kind of partial to less sweet and richer desserts so try and find places that sell them. However this place disappoints in this case as they carry stuff from Dufflet (meh) and Rahier (Thumbs up) which is just fine in my book. They do make some items in house which were decent (opera cake) though nothing special and worth the trek. 4 Stars.

Not just a deli but more like a mini-supermarket of sorts. I came in just before Christmas one day…read moreas I was in the area and really did not like the thought of having to deal with the local grocery store, so I decided to come in and pray that they carried the few items I really needed before the holidays. It's quite a large store and carries a huge selection of goods from all over Europe, so it's cool to be able to find things you won't find elsewhere. On this particular trip, however, I was praying to find very humble items like ... a loaf of bread and a cucumber! I asked the staff at the front whether they carried produce and she said yes, a small selection of items at the back of the store. There is a stand with baskets of different fruits and vegetables, complete with quaint, handwritten signs for prices. I hoped and prayed I'd find what I needed .. it took me 2 rounds to find them but I did. Thank GOD. The quality of the produce seemed to vary quite a bit depending on the item, from nice, large, ripe and colourful citrus fruits, to anemic looking vegetables like the cucumber I needed. I didn't care, they were a decent size and firmness and it'd do. When I moved around the corner to the fish, meats, etc. counters, I found various types of breads lined up and managed to find their version of a "french loaf." Again, not what I'd expect and want to find on an average shopping run, but it'd do. Given that I wasn't really in to experience what the store is meant to offer, it might rate better for what they intend to be the primary experience. On the other hand, bread and produce is pretty basic and while I was satisfied, it was barely so. Would definitely come back in next time I'm around to get the extended experience and sample the goodies at large.
