Johnny Cowan (tech from Local Garage Doors) came by on a Sunday (with no extra charge) and fixed the springs and the end bearing plates as those were worn out on our 14+ year garage door. He also lubed and checked all others parts thoroughly and helped answer our questions on the rubber insulation and other concerns. Within minutes of hanging up we received text updates on when we could expect our service tech and they even included a photo of whom we should expect to see when we answer the door. Our tech, Jorge, arrived on the front side of the time window given, which was nice. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to give us an estimate right on the spot. I was concerned that the job might require him to return with more parts or additional manpower, but Jorge let me know he was able to get the job done immediately! Within a couple hours Jorge was able To complete the full repair and even let us know there is a year warranty on the repairs so should anything come up, we were covered. I feel like the springs had already lasted longer than they should have lasted, but of course these things always happen at bad times. I probably should have been more proactive. Since I had such a positive experience with ADM (Andre) 12 years ago, I called him first without going through the vetting process I did in 2014. I have recommended ADM to others several times over the years, but this was the first time I spoke with Andre myself since his last visit. It was as if no time had passed. Andre was still as responsive and personable as he was the last time I spoke with him. He came over and replaced the springs, bearings, and rollers. The person doing the install was clearly inexperienced and spent most of the time hitting the tracks to force them into place rather than recommending proper repairs or replacement. Fast forward three years, and now the tracks are failing--no surprise given the original workmanship. The company's solution? A new quote for $1,800 to replace the tracks they should have installed correctly in the first place. This feels like a scam company with untrained employees, charging premium prices for subpar work and then coming back years later to charge even more to fix their own mistakes. I would absolutely not recommend them to anyone looking for quality or long‑term reliability.
