They let us sit and get comfortable as well as check out their sweet grounds which included 5 vintage camper AirBNB units which we were able to check out while tasting....pretty cool. The wines we had were solid. 2 x white and 2 x red. We also opened up a bottle of Pinot Noir which was really good also! We got a bottle of Cab reserve to go which I'm sure by tasting the others will be awesome! Anyways a great experience from two awesome people! Check out Delilah Ridge (and stay there!) if you're checking out the parks. 5-stars!

Once we arrived we were instructed that we would not be staying in the house, but in a cottage on the grounds. The Inn keeper/owner did not have a key for us...we waited for quite some time..hours. Thought we would swim in the pool while waiting. It was horribly dirty...bugs and leaves coating the top, the cement around was dirty and the lounge chairs were filthy with layers of dirty and mold. Were told it was impossible to keep clean. Once in our room, we noticed the linens smelled bad...like someone else had stayed there. We couldn't find Lucy to get them changed. We were given two towells..and the bathroom was not very clean. Couldn't lock our bedroom door, and kitchen in the cottage had no way to make coffee or drink anything. There was a fridge for us to put our own drinks in. Very hot, over 100 degrees and air was not working. A very uncomfortable night. Lucy (owner) was never around, the main house was always locked or completely dark. No access to beverages etc. Couldn't get in for breakfast because doors were locked...guests that stay in the house were fine, not the cottage guests. ...what is a B&B without morning coffee? We left that day. Lucy wouldn't refund for the day, stated we still owed her 20% gratuity and 10% sales tax. She has run these deals on living social, dealbase, groupon, virtual tourist etc. She is making a ton of money but not putting it in to the house. The pain is chipping, rotting steps, dirty bathrooms and even our bed linens were not fresh. I can't speak for the rooms in the main house but we did not have a good experience. Saved our money for this vacation and was extremely disappointed. Living social will not answer calls...calls drop to busy signal. Had to file a claim wth CC company.

The rooms are redecorated, the food Jackie serves is AMAZING and they are both so extremely hospitable! I stayed two nights, first breakfast was french toast and WOW.(best in my life no joke), second breakfast was a spinach frittata also Very good (I am going to try making it!). Most of the breakfasts come with a special jam or sirup that is home made. The home has a very hommy feel to it. The rooms are very nice and feel like a nice hotel room, but no TV (not that you need) Fresh baked brownies sat in the kitchen! Don't bring pets if going to the national parks they cant really do much! Hairdryer in the hall to share if you need! They have a deck on the second floor with a fridge and table/chairs for sharing with other guest (note a room does sit behind with a window) Did I mention FRESH baked brownies sat in the kitchen?

The grounds are beautiful and maintained well,there truly is every thing that you need there. Lots of places to sit by the river and just relax and read, or just enjoy nature. The kitchen is awesome, took us a bit to get it open...but Kenneth does an awesome job of having videos and bar codes to scan. Maybe a helpful hint would be to read his emails. The instructions are there, it just took us a few minutes to figure it and watch the videos. Also if you are towards the back of the campground you will be happier if you pack light! We over packed..haha. He has food containers for each tent inside and out. The shower bathrooms are heated, clean and have a beautiful view. There were lots of yard games(pin pong, corn hole) hiking, a white wood movie screen, saunas, hammocks, an outdoor area to do yoga. AND best of all......it was dog friendly! The only CON. ...there is no ice at the campground or near by. The coolers are yeti which does help keep things cold, and the weather was still quite cold at night, so it wasn't truly an issue except to put into drinks I cannot wait to go back to Kenneth's property and spend more time. Kenneth was around and very knowledgeable. helpful. He was willing to help out and helped with anything we needed. This place was awesome and can't wait to return!

We tend to gravitate…read moretowards boutique hotels beyond "big box" properties and The Darling definitely fits the bill in that regard. The rooms are always clean, the Elderwood is an ice touch, and the vibe is always fun. During this trip, all was fine when what sounded like the HVAC system above our room started to knock. It's an old historic building so, things happen. The knocking though quickly turned into a roar. We contacted the front desk and this is where the true professionalism of the hotel crew, and particularly Maria, shined through. Maria quickly came upstairs, assessed the situation, triaged with other teams inside the hotel, and identified a solution within 20 minutes. Given the scope of the repair was unclear at the time, she moved us to another room and even upgraded us (even though she didn't have to!) for the inconvenience. Things happen, that's not an issue for us, it's how the team addresses them when they come up. The Darling team rose to the occasion with flying colors so seamlessly in this situation, especially Maria. So for us, just underscores a series of positive experiences at the hotel. This isn't an ultra luxury 5-star hotel, so don't come here expecting that. But it's a great place to stay in Visalia with a premium, boutique vibe, great restaurant, and clean well apportioned rooms. We will be back.

Room service was good quality, appropriately priced and arrived quickly. The only reason I couldn't give this 5 stars was there was no internal secondary lock on the door which made it feel a little unsafe as a solo traveler and also there were not clear instructions about how to enter the gated parking lot upon checking in. Otherwise I had a good stay and would consider visiting again just to eat at the restaurant.
