There aren't enough stars on Yelp to review Oh La La Spa services and Tara's technique. Let me start off by saying that I've been seeing Tara for facials, microdermabrasion, waxing, brow shaping and makeup application for many years now. I've followed her from her other places of employment, and am thrilled that she has finally opened up her own spa room at Bay Styles in Niantic! I live in NYC, and have yet to find an aesthetician with the magic touch that Tara has. Coming out to Connecticut for some R & R a handful of times a year is well worth it. She is South Eastern CT's best kept secret! Tara has an aura about her that can best be described as pure magic... Her touch has the ability to instantly relax even the most anxious or tense person. She truly tailors each treatment for the individual client rather than just running through the motions of a treatment. She is an expert at quickly identifying skin problems/issues and quickly helping to resolve them. What's the difference between a good aesthetician and and GREAT aesthetician? Great aestheticians love doing extractions, and they do them well. Tara can painlessly cleanse pores and completely refresh your skin. She also stays in the room for your entire treatment. I've had many facials where they leave you for 10-15 minutes while your mask is on etc...not Tara. She stays with you the whole time, and uses that time to give the most incredible massage (foot reflexology and shoulders). She also takes the time to recommend an at home skin care routine based on your skin's seasonal needs without pushing products. She doesn't sell products, but she is extremely well versed on what is available on the market, what is right for you, and how to get the most bang for your buck. Nothing undoes all that relaxation faster than someone trying to sell you a pricey new skincare line. She has an amazing eye and talent for shaping brows based on your face shape, and her makeup artistry is second to none. Tara is the best at what she does because she LOVES what she does! It is very difficult to do a job well if you are passionate about it. She has all the passion in the world for what she does and it completely shows. I've had massages, facials and a variety of other spa treatments over the past 15 years and Tara is by far the best! She has a space in the back of Bay Styles hair salon, but don't let that fool you; the aura of the space she has created rivals any fancy spa (and I've been on cruise ships, resorts, and many spas in Fairfield County and New London County). Her technique is calming and peaceful as well as effective. My skin is glowing and the eyebrow/lip wax is impeccable. Tara is great to chat with, too! She offered me tea afterward and never tried to up-sell me on products, which I really appreciated. I will never go anywhere else for skin care! Thank you, Tara! read more

My 11-year old daughter went in for a Teen facial. Tara took such good care of my girl. She had a terrible headache that day and left squeaky clean, glowing, and headache-free due to Tara's amazing and therapeutic, facial massage techniques. Her skin is clear, moisturized, and my daughter left relaxed and happy. She has a nut allergy and Tara took her time to read all labels of products carefully and then on top of that, called each company and checked to make sure. Tara is the most AMAZING makeup artist and PERFECTION with brows. Once you have one of her services you will be addicted!!!! I took my 14 year old daughter to see Tara to have her eyebrows , lip, and side of her face waxed for the very first time !
