(Main bathroom demo, remodel, and closet addition) After losing a deposit with a contractor who gave me a quote ranging from 80k-150k for a whole house remodel, it took 3 years before I felt comfortable enough to find a new contractor who would remodel one bathroom in desperate need. I'd contacted various firms: some felt my budget was too small and others didn't even call back. I was very cautious about the whole situation. I met with Sandra and Esvin to discuss what I wanted. I stopped by their showroom which was nicely done and that sold me on the quality of their work. Sandra was very knowledgeable and was able to help me narrow down the design based on what would pass inspection. She also laid out the law for me about when contractors could accept payments and how they're usually spaced out. I told her my budget and she was able to work with it. They even pulled the permits which the previous contractor wanted me to do! I worked a lot with Wendy who was super helpful with my endless questions-including input on design options. Since I wasn't working with an architect, designer, or even a floor plan, her accessibility was very helpful and reassuring. The proposal was laid out a la carte so there was a lot of flexibility in choosing my materials and removing elements I no longer wanted. The Vasquez crew is skilled and hardworking and the whole project was completed in about 2 months. The entire project stayed on budget with the only changes they proposed were fixing a section of the bathroom (which was an addition) that had been poorly attached to the main house (you could see through a gap to the outside) and budget increases were because of my own design choices (which I don't regret!). The experience wasn't perfect so it wouldn't be right to review it as such--but the issues I ran into were so miniscule that I don't feel it's even worth knocking down a star because they could have been easily resolved with more communication and questions from my end. There were a few small hiccups: -a doorway into the bathroom from the main bedroom that was initially proposed didn't fit so had to be removed from the design altogether. -The city didn't approve a light i had wanted to be installed over the tub and somewhere in excitement of a new bathroom I didn't get the message - the window I wanted had been discussed with Esvin, and was telephoned to Wendy so the one that arrived weeks after the initial conversation wasn't what I initially wanted but waiting on it would have been a 6-week delay and I chose to settle for the window that was available to keep the project moving. -the cleanup wasn't included. A plastic sheeting had been draped over my furniture but it was very light and while it kept a lot of dust away, there was still a lot of dust I had to clean up, as well as debris (tile bits, dust, buckets, etc.) in the side yard. As a first-time homeowner, this was my first true experience with a remodel and I am happy with the process and the outcome. I'm already planning out my other projects and look forward to working with them. read more

We got out master bathroom remodeled, which required a demo of an old wall and rebuilding a new wall / moving the door to make it larger, and updating all the plumbing, electrical and fixtures. Overall, Vasquez construction was an absolute pleasure to work with. We have remodeled our entire home and worked with many contractors and the Vasquez team was among the top contractors we worked with. We would definitely hire them again (and have). Below has more detail about each part of the experience and what made them great. Scope / contracting: Wendy and Sandra provided a very detailed proposal with individual line items for everything that needed to be done including separation of materials and labor. This made it so easy when we wanted to purchase our own materials and remove their's from scope. They were so transparent and never nickel and dimed us for anything and because of this, we stayed within budget. Project management/timing: Wendy and Sandra were very transparent about timing and were able to stick to the schedule they laid out. Their team works shockingly fast. The only reason our project went longer than expected is because we hired a separate contractor for one part of the job and that contractor caused delays. Despite that, the Vasquez team was very accommodating and patient, always willing to be a team player. Team: The Vasquez team is very respectful and talented. Each member of their team always communicated what they were doing, cleaned up after everyday and were very open to feedback when we saw something we wanted different. Craftsmanship: Their work is great quality. The new walls look like they're part of the existing home (vs add ons). Vasquez just completed a bathroom renovation for me this week. This was a tub/shower enclosure to a shower only, I'm very happy with the results. When I asked them for a quote, I was provided a detailed list of everything that would be done, along with the quantity of tile needed for the project. (I was supplying the tile). Each day, the work was carefully planned, i.e. demo, plumbing, hot mop, tile, faucet install, and glass installation. We had a few hiccups, but this is to be expected with any renovation. Both Sandra and Wendy were very communicative every step of the way, the guys showed up on time and cleaned up each night. We hired Vasquez Construction to remove a pony wall that separates my kitchen and living room. The team was extremely easy to work with. They gave me a quote over email with pictures and estimates. They demolished, removed debris, moved an outlet, leveled and fixed the floor, patched and painted the wall. All were done really well and you can not tell that a wall was ever there. They showed up on time and cleaned up between crews. I really appreciate that because I have two small children so coordinating everything can be tricky if they do not show up when they say they will. If we could give Sandra Estrada and her team 10 stars we would. We did a huge remodel on a 1900 sf rental home in between renters. Quick turnaround was key so that we could limit the time it was vacant. Sandra came in ON BUDGET and ON TIME! Amazing work! We remodeled 3 bathrooms, where one required removal of a wall and a set of cupboards, of course install of new vanities, toilets, shower doors, tubs, mirrors, fans, canned lighting, accessories, removal of hardboard entire 2nd floor and stairway, repaired and textured all drywall upstairs, all new baseboards and door trims, entire inside painted, new windows, new stucco entire outside of home, exterior facia boards, painting patio cover, new door hardware throughout, new lighting in and out and SO many extras we can't even remember them all. The team was courteous, cleaned up after themselves, and came on time every day. They were experienced at their craft, whether it was drywall or tile or paint, they did an amazing job. Sandra has an excellent design sense and made so many suggestions that we took her advice on and loved the results. She even took an entire day to go shopping with us to help us make all the selections. We would have been overwhelmed without her. Wow! These guys are amazing! Esvin and his crew did an awesome job installing laminate floors in my second bedroom. They were on time, professional, clean, and did really great work. They also fixed the shitty flooring job in my master bedroom (I think the previous owners tried to do DIY install and failed miserably).
