My family took me early for lunch at the South Edmonton Common location on Father's Day and ordered our usual Meat Lover's Plate and donairs for my son. A young man with the warmth of a rock in the rainy day outside, poured us less than a half little paper cup of tea that in our experience has been consistently filled to the brim. My Meat Lover's plate ($25.95) had buckets of rice on it, some salad, four tiny pieces of potato, a teaspoon of humus and way less meat than my son's donair ($13.95). It was disappointing and I regretted ordering my favorite at the South Edmonton Common location. I wish that I had a donair or shawarma instead and was thinking the whole time about how much I wished that I was at Jerusalem Shawarma's Oliver/Downtown location. Comparatively, the ambience is so much better there, too, as the South Edmonton Common location has booths with ripped seats, and expansion to the bay next door which feels like an active construction zone and not a restaurant.
