Had an amazing experience here! Fish & Chips were so tasty. Had a cup of chowder instead of the chips. The chowder is so yummy!!!! I will definitely be ordering it again. My server (Haleigh) also recommended the house lager which was so smooth and crisp. She brought me three different tasters but I had to agree with her on the house lager. Really nice. It's pretty open inside with plenty of seating with a pub feel. They feature daily specials which is nice. Music wasn't too loud and pleasant. The food was not great but the service was worse. I made a reservation for a birthday dinner, and when we arrived, I provided my name and the hostess showed up to our table. Except, she walked us to a booth-type seating and walked away without saying. We had a table for 8 and the booth couldn't seat that many. I looked around for another staff to ask where our table was and was shown to a row of tables that had backless seating. We waited for our server to arrive and were provided with menus. She finally arrived and took our order. I ordered the lobster rolls after trying them at Taste of Edmonton. The rolls were good, but the fries were cold and hard. The garlic fingers were just ok, and not something I would order again. They had some specials that day, including garlic fingers, but the bill didn't reflect the discounted price. Went for an early dinner before the movie. We didn't have a reservation but there were some tables that were reserved for 7 and they said as long as we got out before then we could sit there. We had no problem with that as our movie was at 6:30. So we were seated fairly quickly. The place wasn't super full but it was busy. This was a lot better of an atmosphere for my personal liking when compared to their Whyte Ave location. It's obviously more spacious and as such it didn't feel like we were jammed up against another table (not that we were at the other location). The server was very friendly and came and visited us enough that it didn't feel like we were ignored but also not too much that we were bothered by her stopping by. She refreshed our drinks a few times, offered some suggestions as some members of our party didn't really know what they wanted. Overall she delivered great service. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. The rest of the servers in the area and the host's booth at the front also had very friendly vibes about them. We ordered some fish tacos as it was still happy hour and they were larger than I had expected (they weren't stuffed too full but enough that it felt like a good appetizer/snack - pictures not included for this, too hungry forgot to take pictures). I ended up getting the Atlantic seafood chowder bowl with the ultimate upgrade. It was a good chowder but not necessarily worth the upgrade in my opinion. It seemed like the upgrade didn't add much aside from a "garlic bread" and some bacon bits and a mussel or two. I don't knock the dish it just didn't feel much like an ultimate upgrade worth $8. The bread was very soft and good for dipping if that's your jam. My wife got the fish and chips with an upgrade from chips (fries) to poutine. The curds were good, the gravy was hot but on the salty side, so much so that we didn't end up finishing it. The fish really hit the spot for what my wife was craving. All in all I would still give this a 5 star review because the small things here and there didn't really detract from the food and atmosphere that we experienced. Mind you this was early on a Saturday night so it wasn't too crazy. By the time we left just after 6:15 it was starting to fill. Just keep that in mind as your results may vary. read more

I love that we have such an awesome restaurant close by in Windermere! Blowers and Grafton is my favorite in the Windermere complex, both for dining in and take out. The menu is "Halifax street food" with fish as the specialty. Every time I've eaten here the food has been great. Some of my favorites are the chicken club wrap, the fish and chips, fish tacos and the donair. If you're looking for a pizza, the pizza here is good too, with a soft, chewy crust. Staff service has always been good, and there's a fun casual atmosphere in the restaurant. I love their patio, even though it's on a parking lot they've designed it with greenery and wooden screens so you don't feel like you're in a suburban area. read more

Came here for a girls evening out with friends. It was very busy when we came but thankfully we got a table very quickly. The server was good at first but then disappeared for a long long time when we wanted our bill to go home. The food here is really delicious. I had the mussels and they were so so good!! I also had a beer to go with the mussels and it paired perfectly. I would definitely come back to this spot again as their menu is really fantastic and lots of fun things to explore on the menu. Oh and don't forget to try their donair Cesar's!! They have a full stick of donair meat on a skewer in the cesar and it's so delicious. Met up with a couple work buddies today at Blowers and Grafton in Windermere around 1:45pm and arrived before others. Wasn't very busy. There were many open tables although we had to wait for a table for 15min which I thought was very unusual. Ordered a beer on tap but of course, not available. Why? Servers didn't bring a drink menu, another odd thing so had to guess what they had. Finally got a table and sat down. Ordered food and another round of drinks. Food came by another server and no cutlery with it. Seriously?? Not impressed at all. Waited around for a few minutes before our server got us cutlery. Food was okay, nothing to jump up and down over. Had the Halifax donair which tasted like any donair shop in Edmonton minus the lettuce. Want some really great food? Go to Blowers & Grafton! I had the fish & chips meal and hubby who doesn't like fish, had pizza. I have attached photos, the fish is beer battered and it's light batter, so crispy but not heavy or greasy. Also, the size of fish you get is truly FISH with a bit of batter, not the usual heavy hard batter that you have to scrape off. Great portions! Hubby loved his pizza, could not finish it all in one sitting. The fries were a bit on the salty side, but they were so good I couldn't help eating them, so addictive. The tartar sauce is homemade, and whatever is in it, omg - so good. Atmosphere wise, it's got the music and noise, and I would have given this place 5 stars but the service, while efficient - was pretty cold and distant until 'tip time' which I always hate when servers do. I'm not really blown away by the food here. The fried pepperoni and donair poutine were good, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for them. The fish and chips was just okay. Service was strange. Our server was friendly enough but couldn't answer any questions about the beer at all. She just said "I don't drink beer, so I really don't know". Didn't offer to find the answers or ask one of her coworkers, just said she didn't know and left it at that. For a place offering so many beers, I would expect the staff to have even a base knowledge... like light vs dark. Anyway - The ambiance is great, it's a very comfortable place to hang out. And I love the concept. And if we hadn't asked a question about beer, I probably would have thought the service was great. We arrived at Blowers & Grafton's new southwest location at 11:30 am. That meant that we had coffee rather than drinks and this is clearly a place for a beer. Our first surprise was that we were asked if we had reservations. I haven't heard that question from a café since Covid-19 arrived. Despite not having reservations we were immediately seated. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Waterfront Grilled Wrap for $17.00. My guest had the Atlantic Seafood Chowder for $16.50 + $2.50 for the bun. Two coffees were $7.00. The prices were a bit high but just a little. Fortunately after we each had our first bites we quickly forgot about the prices. My wrap was tasty and the chicken was tender. It wasn't the least bit messy. Basically I couldn't have asked for anything better. My guest enjoyed her chowder immensely. The coffee was good - not coffee shop good - but this isn't a coffee shop. They had the noise well under control so we could talk but it wasn't silent either. All in all it was a very satisfying dining experience. Service was good and they followed all the Covid-19 protocols. The people ahead of us seemed to be surprised about the need for the covid passport so they stood to the side punching away on their phones to get their QR code. I'll certainly return here but next time I'll try to come later so that I can sample whatever they have on tap. This restaurant started in Halifax and slowly spread west. You can dine like a Haligonian without even leaving Edmonton. read more

Went there on Sunday....place was not busy, barely 1/4 of tables occupied, plenty of staff (but they seemed more interested in each other).....but still took 25 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered the on tap beer....came more like cool than cold, like when you when you drink a can of beer when its been in the fridge for only 15 minutes....even the glass was room temp. Then there are the prices. A tallboy of a craft beer for $12!!!!!!! The food selection and pricing was even worse. We decided that there was no way we were going to pay fine dining prices for pub food and not really that interesting pub food as well. read more

I gave them 5 stars and yet I've never been there. However, I gave a gift certificate at Christmas after reading many positive reviews online. When the folks I gifted it to opened it at Christmas they said they really liked this place as did a couple other people that were there. After they used it they both raves about the food and they enjoyed their restaurant experience. And the topper! The kicker! My birthday celebration at B&G with my wife and 2 sisters at 6pm Sunday. Seated immediately as there were only about 5 other tables occupied. Our server was at our table in a few minutes and took drink orders. I had the hot shrimp Caesar which turned out to be quite good. My wife had the scallops with chowder. One sister ordered lobster rolls the other sister ordered fish and chips and I had the "loaded bowl" mac and cheese. It took about 35 minutes for our orders to arrive quite long for a room that was not busy. The chowder was basically tasteless. The six small size scallops at market price lacked flavour likely due to being in the freezer a long time. The lobster rolls were mainly shredded lettuce with a few small chunks of lobster. Fish and chips were ok but how can you go wrong with F&C? My lobster mac and cheese was absolutely disgusting. There was no sauce. The cheese was bland and crusty in some parts. The lobster? What lobster!!?? They should have said BYOL bring your own lobster because there were only a few small pieces that I could see. $29.00 for this which was 95% small elbow macaroni and 3% cheese. I wouldn't pay 99c for this. I spoke with the manager about this and he apologised a few times and walked away. He didn't even attempt to comp my birthday meal. If this is the kind of food they serve in Halifax I wouldn't bother going there. Huge huge disappointment and they are now on our black list of restaurants never to visit! My wife and I and I went out for our first anniversary, back in Edmonton from Phoenix since we got married. It's our one year anniversary. We were met with a quiet restaurant and lounge at 4:30, but the traffic constantly increased. Our hostess was Gina, on our server was Taylor. We shared some classic poutine, drank some wine and beer, ordered seafood chowder, and shrimp and scallops and a shrimp po'boy. Was at the Sherwood Park location for lunch with a girlfriend and ordered a "Daves hot chicken pizza" to share - the pizza was undercooked and lacked spice - couldn't even taste the hot sauce. More than that, it was visually undercooked and should have been obvious to the waitress who said nothing. We also shared a salad (Heritage blueberry salad). We picked out a decent size stack of hard stems from the salad (were not edible) and had them on our napkins- was sure the waitress would comment but didn't. This was probably one of the worst restaurant salads I have ever had. Our 2nd visit was for fish and chips - long wait, fish was cold, fries were soggy. Super disappointed in the experience.
