The location had a mobile bar with an incredible bartender and a separate bride and groom facility that was fantastic. I rented this space for a non-profit organization's family event. I appreciated the flexibility of the facility so tables, chairs, podium & stage area could all be set up and arranged to fit our needs & decorations. The room is bright and airy, and the location is convenient & easy to get to from anywhere in Hilo. The parking lot is small, so for big parties there's overflow parking across the street at Carvhalo Park. I also like that the Hilo Woman's Club is a non-profit organization has 100+ years of community service - with various activities, donations to local charities, and a scholarship fund.

The food and venue were both incredible. Their team kept us on track throughout the night and acted as pseudo- day of planners. The team was incredibly responsive and patient with us as we made decisions about food, timing, and other vendors. They provided advice and answered all questions we had to help us create the perfect experience for us for our intimate wedding. We appreciated that everything could be handled in house by the Heartbeet/Pu'uwai team. They handled the bartending, cake cutting, servers, cleanup, and joined in some of the dancing! Plus, the food was INCREDIBLE. We had two kids, under 10, who can be picky, but they ate everything on offer! A true testament to delicious options that were curated for our event. We opted for family style, for our small group, and an extra protein because we couldn't decide on just one! The family style serving option helped us all feel at home, we loved it. Pu'uwai Gardens held a beautiful backdrop for the evening, including the covered area for eating and dancing, that included cute lighting, and the build in covered bar- stunning. The land and tress were also beautiful, as was the view of the water. The Heartbeet/Pu'uwai team overdelivered for our day and we are so grateful to have chosen them to host our reception.

They have everything that a party space needs: a kitchen, bathrooms, and bar areas. One thing about this place is that all the labor and setting up & clean up is the responsibility of the renter. However, if you're with family and friends living in Hawaii, those parts will be a breeze with everyone helping out. Their air conditioning is really good in this place, because even though it can be packed, it'll still be cold inside. I don't know how it is in the women's bathroom, but for the single stall in the men's bathroom, there's no lock, so I wouldn't recommend doing your business in there. As far as types of tables and chairs, they have plastic & wooden tables, along with metal chairs and wooden benches. In my opinion, the wooden benches are much more comfortable than the metal chairs are. I've been to many parties at Aunty Sally's, and the venue is always a good choice.
