They also had a few tattoo vendors that will give you one on the spot. They also have a few stores around the area. Didn't buy anything from the vendors at the flea market but did buy a matcha bowl and whiskey holder for a really good price along with a sun hat at one of the stores inside the galleria. Will certainly be back, they validate parking too. That's always cool. Lost a star because they didn't really have much restaurants or places to eat or grab a snack. They also have an Asian market/grocery store, so if you want to grab groceries after checking the flea market, that's convenient.

It is incredibly crowded for such a small market. There are vendors selling clothing, cameras, random knickknacks, handmade art, and tattoo stations. Yes, you can sit in a chair and get a tattoo at this flea market. People are getting tattoos here. I bought an adorable handmade little cat made out of pipe cleaners for $12.99 from someone who will make customized pieces. From another vendor on the other side, I bought a handmade clay ring of a black cat face for $25.00. She makes the cutest little clay art. So small. Pieces smaller than half an inch tall. Too CUTE! Needless to say, she had the largest crowd congregating around her table and buying up her display. The customer ahead of me in line got the free tote bag with purchase because she spent so much. I got a free magnet with my purchase. Parking: Metered and free two hour street parking.

East Los Angeles may not be the most visibly active center of Latino LGBTQ social activity although…read morethere are Chico, Redz Angelz, Mi Centro. However, Queer Mercado only established in the summer of 2021 is becoming a focal point of the Queer Latino community.  Diana Díaz, one of the three founders of the Queer Mercado: "Diaz wanted a space that would help LGBTQ Latinas and Latinos find footing in their communities -- someplace that would make them more visible and, perhaps, offset the ongoing gentrification in East L.A. Although there are LGBTQ bars, restaurants and clubs scattered across Los Angeles, they are few and far between east of downtown. "That's power," Diaz said. "By being more visible, we increase tolerance and eventually gain more acceptance.""  Queer Mercado is an oasis especially for LGBTQ members of East Los and beyond to mingle, network, find acceptance, be in a safe place. Beyond that, QM also serves as an important entrepreneurial training ground and confidence builder for those going into business for themselves.  So come to the Queer Mercado to support a community deserving of respect and recognition. The number of vendors has grown from 42 to 130. So there is plenty to look and buy some original products.  Open every 3rd Saturday from 10am to 4pm in the parking lot of Hilda L. Solis Learning Academy. Because of its outdoor site, inclement weather will force cancellation of the Mercado.  5 stars for creating healthy, safe, accepting venue for the community.  Queer Mercado in East Los Angeles caters to LGBTQ+ Latinos - Los Angeles Times https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-08-16/queer-mercado-east-los-angeles-latino-lgbtq-community

[Hours]: Every Saturday from 5 PM to 11 PM. Fridays will be closed in summer 2023 as the organizer wants to focus all energy and resources on a single day. [Parking]: $10 per vehicle. Confusing parking entrance with another misleading "parking" entrance, but the entrance is not right if (1) no one is collecting $10 and (2) visitors should not be driving on a dirt road. [Activities]: Currently the night market offers the following activities - free bull rides from 5 PM to 6 PM, free slime shop for the first 20 kids at 7 PM, free face painting from 7 PM to 8:30 PM, music performance from 8 PM to 10 PM, and clown show from 6:30 PM to 7 PM. [Vendors]: Admission is free, but please note that this night market has a security guard and the guard will check bags for all visitors. As the name implied, this is a "family" night market so do expect to see naughty d-cake. Our party came at 6 PM and most vendors didn't have crazy long waiting lines. There are slightly less food vendors here comparing with vendors at Ave 26 On Imperial. About 20% of vendors were selling accessories at the entrance. Some examples include: # Birria World # Two Six Kitchen (quesadillas) # Local Fish Tacos (tacos de pescado y camarón) # Carnitas Estilo Michoacan Ave 26 (carnitas tacos) # Tacos de Canasta "El Rey" (tacos de canasta aka basket tacos) # Tacos Dorados La Gringa # DragonFire BBQ (Asian skewers) - no waiting line # Tacos El Champ (TJ style) # Chiky Pancakes # Unknown boba stand # Valerie's Apples (candy apples) # Unknown pupusas stand # Unknown soul food stand # Unknown pizza stand *** Carnitas taco from Carnitas Estilo Michoacan Ave 26 ($5): Surprisingly delicious with flavorful pork. Asada and al pastor tacos from Tacos El Champ ($3 each): Probably the least expensive tacos visitors will find here - both tacos were pretty solid. Pupusa (pork and cheese with tomato sauce + salad - $4): Honestly it was the worst dish I had for the day. Pupusa and salad didn't taste good salad and tomato sauce was ... sub-par at best. *** While the night market is certainly family friendly, Ave 26 On Imperial or Night Market El Gato are much better options for anyone who's looking for more foodie options.
