They carry a huge selection of men's and women's clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. Most of them are from the 1920's to the 90's. Also they carry vintage guitars. All these nice items are neatly organized in their 2000sq ft store; stuff can be found by era and size in a brightly lit spacious environment. I found a nice brown bomber jacket (see photo) that I dig a lot albeit out of my price range. Price ranges from $5 to over $200 bucks. Atmosphere was relaxing. Staff was affable. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and I recommend this vintage store.

Hi all! I rarely write reviews but after my last visit, I have some thoughts. I visited once a few…read moreyears ago, but I'm saddened to say that the quality has gone down and I don't know if I'll be returning any time soon. The shop has a great selection of jewelry and knickknacks, but the clothing is extremely limited - especially for the price point. I'm not even large in size, but all of the clothing ranged from size xxxxxs - medium (yes, an actual piece had 5 x's). Now this really wasn't the problem since I got some jewelry and the owner even comped a broken pair of earrings! Now moving on to the customer service. I understand the owner has some concerns with shoplifters, but the way she now conducts the store is overkill. You have to call to get in, and she locks you in once you're inside and she is the only one "allowed" to let you out. She also was so intense towards me and other customers in the shop that it took away from the pleasant experience I was looking forward to. What I mean by this is: 1) Every item has a "DO NOT TOUCH" or "NO PHOTOS" or some other loud sign that makes it impossible to move throughout the store or explore items. 2) Any time I picked up an item, the owner immediately hovered over me and 'offered' to take it to the front before I was even done looking at it. This happened 3 separate times. 3) The owner actually SHOVED my mother to the side to race to the door and let some customers out since they're locked in and not allowed any autonomy to leave despite MULTIPLE cameras everywhere. Mind you, the owner had on thick platform boots and stepped on my mom's foot and didn't say 'excuse me' or anything of the sort. 4) The owner was extremely hypervigilant and would stare down customers while frowning at them (no joke, just like this: ) all while customers were just looking at pieces (because they were not allowed to be touched). 5) The breaking point was when I had just purchased my earrings and was moving to leave, but the owner genuinely started mumbling to herself and eventually got louder, saying, "No, no, no!! This guy's a bad guy!! NO NO!! HE'S BAD UGHH!!!" and started to duck behind the counter and pull at her hair. This freaked me out because now I'm locked in this shop with her as she's tweaking. I turned to my mom and, at that instant, decided we needed to leave at that very moment. The entire experience was bizarre and it's evident that the owner's experiences with previous shoplifters has translated into something that denies the customer a decent experience. The entire shop's atmosphere was paranoid, stifled, constricted, and anything but decent/relaxed. Good music though. I bid good luck to anyone that dares venture into that cutthroat space.

I started following them on insta and found myself in need of a period perfect desk for my home. I sent them a message on insta and was replied to almost immediately- which is rare! I asked what they had for my needs, again, instant reply with several options. I found what I thought may be perfect, they offered to send video and dimensions without asking. Awesome. We talked price, I knew what I wanted could be out of $$ range, they gave me a great deal that I just couldn't pass up. I will also mention, I needed delivery- they provided it at a very fair price. The delivery was quick, smooth and very nice guys. In short- I will continue to always do my vintage/antique shopping here. I find them to very knowledgable of LA and the design aesthetics you need for period home. Also, just VERY nice people to deal with, which I think is worth not

She's been really condescending on other visits too, like asking me to leave when I'd have my phone out sometimes when I'd come by, not even when I'm on the phone. I don't know what her problem is but definitely won't be back anytime soon. Really disappointing cause there's a lot of cool stuff in there but her attitude really ruins the experience. If you're looking for a good thrift store experience in the area the Out of the Closet a few blocks up is a lot better.

Raggedy Threads is my favorite vintage store in L.A. - no contest. Don't let this tiny little store…read more- located in a tiny little corner of Little Tokyo - fool you: It's like a treasure trove of rare finds. I've been on a huge vintage kick lately, so this store has been my go-to source for old tees. My reasons for going vintage are primarily environmental since the carbon footprint and resources needed to make new clothes are substantial - and incredibly wasteful when there's so much awesome used clothing out there. Another reason: Your friends can't copy your style. Most recently, I picked up a few tees from the 1970s and 80s. Being in L.A. they get a lot of local and California vintage shirts with logos, designs, and jokes that only true Californians would get. I couldn't resist buying a Castroville "Giant Artichoke" tee they had over the summer. Personally, I tend to gravitate towards regional finds like these because they bring back such great memories of my youth and of family road trips up and down my home state. They also carry old college (Go Bears!), high school, and everyone's favorite - summer camp tees. Plus, you cannot beat the vintage fit from the 70s/80s. Caveat: Today's "S" is equivalent to an "M" or bigger because people were presumably thinner back then. So do your part for the environment and look effortlessly stylish doing it by shopping used and vintage! And there's no better place in L.A. for this than Raggedy Threads.
