Thursday night chicken fried steak special
    Tanner R.

A friend had been raving to me about the Thursday night chicken fried steak special...so I had to go try it. For $8 you get a tasty and filling meal. Also add a beer because their brewing is great. I will definitely come back here to try other menu items if I'm back in this neck of the woods!

At $11 for the growler and $4 for the fill, this is a great deal!

A visit here is a given when we're out on the farm. Awesome prime rib. The salad bar is lacking, though, to say the least.

My husband loves their pizza and I appreciate that they have a salad bar as a healthy option.

The salmon was very large. I had the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Salad which was amazing. Our service was top notch. Sammi was very attentive and great to chat with. Can't wait for next trip through Kearny.

Visually, it's a great spot--beautiful inside and out, an amazing patio, lots of TVs, and an impressive bar with 48 beers on tap plus beer flights. Unfortunately, during our visit, both the food and service fell short. We started with the pork belly bites. They were okay, but the texture wasn't what we're used to--we typically prefer them cooked a bit more. We also ordered the crab cakes, which came as three large pieces on a bed of lettuce (basically a big house salad). After a few bites, we realized they were ice cold. We let the bartender know and they were sent back, but they came out ice cold again. To their credit, they removed the item from our bill, which we appreciated. We then ordered a burger. The patty was very thick and had potential, but the fries were ice cold. Service slowed at this point--it took a long time to get ketchup or any follow-up. We noticed staff eating in a booth behind us while two employees behind the bar appeared busy, which was disappointing. The beer selection is excellent, but my Dirty Shirley tasted off. I switched to a Tito's and Sprite, but it still didn't taste right--likely flat soda that hadn't been changed. Overall, the patio and beer selection are highlights, but the execution on food and service missed the mark on this visit. Based on this experience, I'd give it 2 stars. Glad I didn't order the steak, as I think I would have been disappointed. -- Foodie99

Taylor was amazing, our bartender made perfect martinis and the food was off the charts! The shrimp cocktail was six of the biggest shrimp ever, the Chicken Dianne was rich and delicious and hubby's Wagyu Ribeye was spectacular! The show stealer was the pork belly, it was rendered to the perfect melt point with a flavor all it's own, no sweet sauce, just pork! It's in the middle of nowhere but oh so worth the trip!

The salads were nice, good homemade dressing and they serve lovely bread and butter-I'd give those a Nebraska 4-4.5. The truffle potatoes were super dry, tasted nothing like truffle and almost impossible to swallow without a swig of water in your mouth. The prime rib was smoked so long there was almost no flavor except smoke. Perhaps some people like that but I just felt like I was getting colon cancer with every bite, plus they were full of fat too. I'd say at least 1/3 of the meat was fat in everybody's and you saw lots of picking and spitting. That makes a meal really annoying and a bit embarrassing. The baked potatoes were ok. Nothing to write home to mom about. The cocktails were ok, standard and a very light pour. Nothing fancy, no big ice cubes (lots of little melting ones making it hard to drink the cocktail) or higher quality garnish which one might expect for the price. Decent wine list. The environment is fine. It appeared clean in the restaurant, the bathroom and outside. Love the lower level lighting and tablecloths. Be careful walking in the second front door, there's a pretty big slope down. Fun history and very genuine, friendly, informative wait staff. Small town feel and quite busy. You can tell folks in the area love it.
