Our first here. Lunch today of various choices. Crunch Burger, rare, for me. Herb fries. Plane Jane burger also. Water drinks. Is a restored old downtown setting. The best. Wowzr food experience.

My friend and I were just traveling through Hastings and we were delighted to find this gem. The food was really great but my highlight was their " Lemon Meringue Pie Martini. OMG. Service was great and nice atmosphere.

My husband and I were in Hastings for one night recently and we chose this restaurant for a night out. It did not disappoint! The salad appetizer and steaks for perfectly cooked and the bar seating was just right for us. The staff was attentive and efficient and the whole restaurant had a nice energetic vibe. Love the historic building and the downtown location too.

This was our first visit to Odyssey and it was prompted by reviews from friends and also online reviews. They have a great dinner menu with a cosmopolitan selection - from udon to steaks to pasta. Decor is upscale, classy, in a restored downtown building. They promote the history of the space extensively on their website. Our server,Francisco was pleasant, fairly attentive, and helpful. His knowledge of cocktails and wine needs some improvement, but he knew the menu well. Cocktails were excellent. My Old Fashioned with heavy bitters was perfect. Muddled orange and Four Roses bourbon (their bar well selection). I also greatly enjoyed a Botonist Gin on the rocks with three blue cheese stuffed olives. Our wine was very reasonably priced - a 2019 Austin Hope Cabernet. This vintage was more fruit forward than I traditionally like, but was still quite satisfying. Their selection of wine glasses is very smart and they're crystal clear, adding to the enjoyment. We ordered two types of bruschetta, Traditional and Popper (Brie, jalapeño jam, and bacon). The Popper needed more punch to the flavor; at least I expected more. Salads were cold, crisp, and well sized. I've had better wedge salads elsewhere. Odyssey's lacked a really sharp blue cheese that I prefer. My 8 oz. Filet was tender, cooked exactly as ordered, and flavorful. Served with Brussels sprouts and sweet pea risotto, the two sides did not fare as well as the beef. The risotto was thick, sticky, and I'm guessing a bit overcooked. The sprouts were shaved and lacked the caramelization that makes this vegetable a star. Our guests reported that the pork chop was a bit dry. However, the salmon entree and the seared scallops were both excellent. Overall, I rate this as a good experience. In Hastings Nebraska, this establishment likely holds the top spot. When compared with the many experiences I've had, my first visit was just good, not great. But the Odyssey is worthy of a try and I'll try it again.

This is the place to be in Hastings! Almost always crowded. From my three visits here, I found the food to be good. Savory items I tried were the Peechy Keen sandwich, the chipotle burger, and the bruschetta board. The sandwich was the best of these. Crispy bread with nice flavor to sauce. As for the the burger and bruschetta board, I've enjoyed ones in Omaha more. I ended up liking the sides of soup and fries more than the entrees themselves. The savory plates were pretty satisfactory, but what blew me away were the desserts. They rotate these. I loved loved loved the Apple pie cheesecake and the peanut butter creme brûlée! So incredibly rich and well presented. The cheesecake came in a mason jar and was a perfect autumn dessert with its cinnamon flavors and chunks of pie crust. The peanut butter creme brûlée was such a unique idea. The top layer was perfectly caramelized. Lunch and dinner can get especially busy here so make reservations to ensure a table. Ambiance is luxurious, cozy, and welcoming. It's a mix of traditional and urban style. Service was perfect.

A must-try if you live here or are passing through as we were. The ambiance is beautiful in this older building with exposed brick. The restaurant has a great bar area with high-top tables, a lovely dining room, and a patio with plenty of seating. This place has a full bar, including many liquors to make many Italian favorites like Aperol spritz and Campari. My husband and I chose two seats at the bar and enjoyed talking with a few others and the bartender. All the food looked amazing, and everyone was satisfied with their selections. I had the beet salad with a crab cake, and my husband had the chicken fried steak. This has to be the best choice in this small town if you are looking for a more upscale option and selections.

Amazing customer service!!! Reservations are highly recommended if not required. They were able to fit us in at the bar. Great customer service and a wonderful atmosphere. We will make it a point and reservation to coming back again next time we are in town.

Clean, great service and good food! Yes, it's pricey but the quality of food is better than your chain restaurants.

The crabcakes are amazing - 90% crab meat, NO breadcrumbs, and a little bit of potato for texture so they are gluten-free.

My…read moreother half ordered a pickup meal that included a sandwich, an extra side of pickle chips for $10, another extra side of sweet potato fries for $8, and a kids order of popcorn shrimp for $10. They decided to omit the fries that come with the kids order and add exactly 13 pickle chips to it. Providing us not with what we paid for and a disappointment all around. The popcorn shrimp was consumed with disappointment for a lack of fries, my partner was disappointed that so little pickle chips were received instead of the proper side that was ordered. $20 charged for one item that was worth less than the two items ordered that were falsely combined. Then we unpacked the side of sweet potato fries to find exactly 10 fries, for $8, I remind you. It looks like maybe one potato was cut up to provide this side. To feed all of us when we expected a container full of them. The real kicker is that they were still hard and partially uncooked. The sandwich was the only item that was provided correctly. This is the second time they've failed to provide an order as we made it. We will never be returning. What a joke. The food doesn't even taste that good. It all tastes and looks cheap. Photos: Sweet potato fries, sandwich order. Not pictured: The joke of the combined kids meal/side that wasn't filled correctly. It was consumed before we decided to write the review.

Warm and friendly. They have a decent drink selection and that made me happy right away. I ordered a draft beer, an IPA that was local to Nebraska. The menu has something for everyone, I started with the deviled eggs and they were amazing, just like Ma used to make except better they had little pieces of crispy bacon on them. Brilliant. I chose the Ribeye, Rare. I also went with a loaded baked potato. My meal arrived pretty quick and I was glad to see a piece of garlic toast. The steak was perfectly prepared, the potato was indeed loaded. I would recommend the ribeye to everyone. Our server could not have been better, she knew the menu well. Like I mentioned, the drink selection was nice. Settled for the Blanton's and an Eagle Rare to top of the night. Then the server brought up desert, oh Brother. Just what I needed. LOL, I chose the Raspberry Lemon Drop Cake. WOW WOW WOW it was delicious. I look forward to visiting the Barrel Bar again.
