Waiting time is usually minimum 2 hours for a 5 min check of retina by ophthalmologist, have waited as long as 3 hours. Communication between staff re: care is deplorable. The retinologist may be knowledgeable but seems disinterested and rushed. read more

Be sure and check your bill carefully when you receive it! I was billed in error for a procedure I did not receive. They also charged me extra for seeing a medical doctor, which I did not request, for a routine yearly vision exam. The billing person apologized and canceled the two errors in billing. read more

I do not recommend Dr. mcham. you may be a good ophthalmologist, but her social skills are more than lacking. she should not be interacting with the public and certainly not elderly patients. she lacks patience and does not listen. read more

So. You must see the eye doctor you started with. Doctor is booked out 1 year. They will not let me switch to any other Md to try and get an apt sooner. Front desk could really care less. Customer service is laughable. read more

I've been an Eye Health patient for years but no longer. Since Eye Health was bought out by Ophthamic Associates, I've found the wait for an appointment to be unreasonable. Tried to move today's appointment and was told they couldn't fit me in until April '24. Also the call center they use now could care less if you leave the practice or not. The staff that took calls previously may have been a little slow but at least they cared. And the biggest insult to injury is they now charge you $65 just to print off your contact lens prescription. This is on top of whatever the insurance company reimbursement is. I've never experienced or heard of this before and I've been wearing contacts for years. Many of the doctors have left (good move) since they were bought out. What does that tell you? The only good thing was Dr Kristina's Micinoti. I'd bet she won't stick around long either. I'm not a fan of Pearle Vision or similar chain practices but suggest you consider them before this place. I wish I did. read more

This place needs a complete overhaul!!! Staff cancels and re-schedule's appointments without notifying you of the change. states they sent a letter by mail!!! who uses mail anymore!!! Then we have to wait again for an appointment because they put you on a waitlist. The staff is rude!!! read more

Not all optometrist visits are long, inefficient and impersonal, I promise: just here. I was a patient at Eye Health Services in Weymouth and Pembroke for 10+ years - moved and found a new doctor this month. Pro's? The receptionists are always sweet and helpful. Con's? Excruciating wait times. Arrive early, arrive late, expect to wait. They dilate your eyes and you return to the waiting room (mostly blind, if you wear contacts like me), which improves room turnover - but after dilation at my last visit another patent with the same first name took my "spot," and I was seen at her place 20 minutes later. Profuse apology, but no solution and our charts were mixed up for a minute. I've seen different optometrists (depending on availability - high patient-to-doctor ratios to blame?) and they doubt each others' choices and advice. One doc put plugs in my tear ducts; a year later the next doc told me that plugs are ineffective and suggested he take them out. Another doc prescribed a complicated eye drop regimen with a pricey Rx; a fourth doc contradicted him, saying a towel with warm water is the best treatment for the same condition. I left feeling like my 10-minute appointment was a burden to the clinic. My new eye doctor? Spent 30(!) minutes going over my medical history, lifestyle, etc. No wait at her office and I left feeling like a real, valued person. And the doctor seemed to love her job, she was not harried like the poor employees at Eye Health. Moral? You can do better! read more

Drove family member for an appt brought my laptop to work as it's a few hours. Asked the office staff for internet and password and they quickly replied it doesn't work. Really. We'll I got the password and ask what the net work was they didn't know. We'll I got a password and it was incorrect. I asked the staff about the password as I told them it was incorrect and they quickly replied yanit doesn't work and I can't get in. Just reset the password. People come for these appointments and need someone to drive them at least try to make an effort to change the password. Simple and good customer service which they were lacking. In this day and age get your WiFi working for your patrons. read more

I wish you could rate them a zero -- if you try the Pembroke Mass location, bring a book. They overbook appointments and you can easily wait an hour or more before being seen -- After waiting for months to get my appointment I went for my annual check up today, was ten minutes early for my appointment and after waiting for forty minutes and asking twice (to be told that they were with other patients), i left. i will find someone else the interesting thing is that i had an 8am appointment and the place opens at 8 :-/ choose someone else unless you like being treated like an inconvenience read more

Regrettably switching to a new provider in the area. Eye Health Services has been my provider of choice for years. In the past month I have called the office multiple times and left messages to schedule an appointment, as I am having difficulty with my eyesight. Never received a call back, even after leaving my number and listening to a message that promised my call would be returned by 5pm. Unfortunate that I have to change, but seriously, this is no way to run a business. Change your processes and train your staff to be responsive. Thank you. read more

I have been going there for a few years for my Glaucoma issue. I have been treated well by a Dr. McHam and staff. The only other place IMHO I might receive better care would be in Boston at the Main Campus of Mass. Eye & Ear. I went to Mass. Eye and Ear's Weymouth Office and wasn't impressed at all. My son had eye exam last October at the pembroke center and my son's appointment should be routine exam( which is covered by Insurance plan) but they billed as comprehensive exam because of one minute conversation between doctor and me ( doctor asked me " is your son have any problems? I answered back "he was diagnosed as allergic conjunctivitis few months ago") Now I had received $ 280 bill.!!! What a rip off!!! read more

For several years, I have brought an elderly friend to Eye Health Services for his appointments. On two occasions the doctor had someone else's chart and proceeded to continue with the appointment until the error was pointed out to him. But during one of the worst visits, my friend was made to wait three hours before seeing his doctor. At 90 years old, sitting in an uncomfortable, DMV like waiting area for hours on end is not ok. The excuse for the wait was that the dr had "an emergency" to attend to. How about rescheduling the appointments that were to be affected by said emergency? Going to the office and then finding out there's a need to reschedule is much better than sitting around for three hours, packed in a waiting room with about 75 other people, watching Bob Ross paint, on a tv that is placed so high, you actually have to break your neck to watch it. Don't get me wrong, I love me some happy little trees, but not three hours worth and certainly not with a 90 year old who was horribly uncomfortable and in pain due to the institutional chairs provided. With that many cattle, I mean, patients, you'd think Eye Health could afford to have a nicer, more comfortable, less sardine like waiting area, especially if patients are going to be waiting for hours on end. The real kicker: after a year of eye injections, my friend was told there was nothing that could be done for him, but he STILL needed to see the doctor 6 times a year. What?!? read more

I can always count on a long wait for my eye appointment. They have never and I mean never taken me on time. Every year the person at the desk says I have diabetes on my chart and I don't have diabetes. I think they also charge a copay when it is routine and shouldn't be charged. I have been waiting 30 minutes to see a doctor who recently examined my eyes only to write the WRONG prescription, went to optical shop had 800+ $ glasses made and I can't see! I have been a patient at EHS for years. I always preferred the Quincy location as I was living up that way. I transferred to Pembroke last year and have had nothing but problems. You can never get through to anyone on the phone, EVER. My one in-office visit was a nightmare. I wasn't seen for 75 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. No big deal, things happen, however the staff was incredibly rude. A couple months later I called to order contact lenses. The woman promptly took my payment and I confirmed that I should receive them in 2-3 days (I have always been impressed with how quickly they process these orders). Well, two weeks later, I still didn't have my contacts. Called the office for hours and was unable to get through, per usual. I left work early to make it to the office before they closed. I was only then informed that the lenses were on back-order and I should receive them in 3 weeks. So 5 weeks without contacts. Unacceptable. The thing that really got me was that no one thought to call me and let me know. Horrible customer service. I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere. read more
