I mentioned that my daughter (minor) is a patient and that we have the same insurance. I was told ok. I received a reminder call last week and it only asked that I not bring any Covid positive individuals with me. I arrived this morning at 8:47 for my 9am appointment and was instructed to go back downstairs for aCovid screening and get a new mask. I was confused because I'd gone through the area and saw a sign about getting a mask if needed and proceeded through with no issue. I returned downstairs and was informed that it's a THR policy and that they do the screening for all outpatient offices. I return upstairs, wait for 3 minutes at an unattended front desk and when the front desk person shows, I provide her with my insurance and driver's license. She makes copies and asks if they're in network. I tell her that I assume so. She tells me that I need to contact my insurance company to ensure that they're in network. This is at 8:55! My appointment is at 9 am. At this point, I'm over the inconvenience and lack of proper preparation and tell her to cancel the appointment. I've NEVER visited a doctor's office that has failed to provide basic information ( Please note that you will need to be screened for Covid downstairs prior to proceeding to the office) . I also couldn't understand why THEY couldn't verify that they were in network or again communicate that PRIOR to the appointment day/time.
