1st eye prescription from Sawyer Eye Center did not work for me, so I took my new glasses back to Sawyer Eye Care Center to have them verified. I was told the glasses did not reflect the prescription I was given. So, I went back to eyebuydirect.com were I purchased & passed on that information. Eyebuydirect provided me with another pair which felt the same to me as the 1st, so I took them to the Sawyer to verify, along with the 1st pair. I was told they both did indeed match my prescription! To say the least, I was not pleased to hear that. I was given no explanation as to why I was told the 1st pair did not reflect my prescription. I was told not to worry & I was given an appointment to have another eye exam, for a new prescription. I sent used my re-issued prescription to get new glasses from eyebuydirect.com The 3rd pair did not work either, so another appointment at the eye center to find out why! I was told I should have cataract surgery. I said the Dr told me I did not need surgery, @ my 1st screening appointment. Then I was told since I was satisfied with my current eye glasses I purchased over 2 years ago, they would just re-issue it again, as a revised prescription. I mentioned that I was concerned the vendor will not provide a free replacement since they already did 3 times! The response I received was, don't worry they will, they do for a re-issued prescription. Well, No they don't, not after they did for re-issued 2 times already. My experience with Sawyer Eye Center of Weatherford couldn't be more frustrating & I am paying the price for it, Not Sawyer. I will not be going back ever & I do not recommend Sawyer Eye Center. read more

Dr sawyer is one of the few caring doctors in Texas. He actual listens to his patients, helps get us to other doctors needed, and is just so kind. I recently injured my eye and had to have it looked at. I went to sawyer eye center. My first visit was 2 1/2 hours long , alot of sitting around waiting for me to be seen. I understand that payment was due no problem. It was when i went back for a follow up to make sure it was ok i was charged another fee about 2/3 of what i was charged before...follow up was always part of original treatment...look to make sure it good and you can go...makes you not want to go anywhere if you get charged for everything. read more

They are nice enough I guess. They are always finding ways to pad the charges. One reason is because they won't sign up for programs like VSP - which in our case covers these types of procedures. So basically these providers decided to only take regular medical insurance and this definitely makes sure they get the highest payment from patients pocket. A good respectable provider would not only accept traditional insurance but also accept vision plans to offer patients the least amount out of their pocket. Money hungry providers if they accepted both would understand not only do they get reimbursed by the insurance companies and also the small out of pocket from the patients. But these brothers and staff have proven they are about putting their patients out of the most cash possible to line their business and personal pockets. We also offered to pay up front not once but twice and they want to wait until the end once again - to add extra charges onto the patient. We only came twice because they would clean the cloudiness off 1 eye at a time - which most have done and can do both at one time. They do this to get the most billing reimbursement from your insurance and the most money from you the patient. My personal advice is to contact before going to a provider like this to make sure they not only accept your health insurance but also your vision insurance-otherwise they are just billing it as a medical / surgical procedure only and if you have a large deductible get ready to pay. Also make sure they don't try and repeat the same test at each visit because they will - and be firm with them on the charges - I understand most people aren't familiar with medical billing-call your insurance both medical and vision to confirm Who is covered and what is covered , you can learn a lot not only from your EOB but also by going to your insurance companies online and read. And last but not least their big HIPPA Violators - glass window open to the lobby in Granbury and Weatherford- not only do you hear patients names, dob, insurance ID, why they are coming,etc. read more

Went in to get a new prescription for glasses and after waiting a month to get in filled out all the paperwork but did not sign the dilation paperwork release. The receptionist told me they would not see me without dilating my eyes. This is absurd. She is not a doctor, and knows nothing of me or my circumstances or history but gets to make that decision for me? I wanted to see a Dr and was blocked by a receptionist. I will never go there again nor would I recommend anyone else to do so. Receptionists should not be in charge of my healthcare decisions. read more

I needed my annual Type 2 Diabetes eye exam. They were prompt, professional, and I was pleased with their level of care. I've been having trouble reading and using a computer. Everything gets blurry and I have to stop what I'm doing. Doc said I definitely have cataracts and can get them removed any time I'm irritated enough with my eyesight. He also said there was only a slight change in my eye prescription. I'm getting close to the cataract removal and would got to them for this procedure! I would highly recommend Sawyer Eye Center for any eye concerns, exams or procedures. Dr. William Sawyer performed cataract surgery on both my eyes with lens replacement and my vision has never been better. Vision is sharp and the colors are amazing. I'm 68 and a golfer and I have never had vision this crisp. This comes from a guy who has been wearing glasses since junior high school. Dr. Sawyer spent a lot of time with me discussing the procedure and his recommendations. The staff is very professional, friendly and very accommodating. The follow-up appointments were convenient and very thorough.
