I went to this Pain Doctor for over 10 months and had many steroid injections and also ablation…read morebecause of sciatica and lower back pain. Dr Berlin always seemed pleasant and competent but after your initial visit you never see him except at the surgical center for a couple minutes before your procedure. However his PA is ALWAYS the one you see routinely. First of all, nomatter how severe your pain is they NEVER prescribe anything stronger than Tramadol which gave me very little or no relief. After months of asking this PA for something stronger or nothing at all, she said "OK then, there's no need for you to provide a urine sample". In other words, she was going to give me NOTHING!What kind of Pain Facility doesn't provide you with a Pain medication that treats your pain? That's why you go there. But this wasn't even the worst experience I had there. When I first went there the PA was trying to explain the Stimulator and the Pain Pump as future possibilities. When I asked her how long the battery lasts on the Pain Pump she clearly said, "Ten years. Probably LONGER THAN YOU"! I was so shocked at how unprofessional she was and could not believe what she had said, I was speechless. Of course since I never see Dr Berlin I waited until I was in the surgical center and told him what she said. He was shocked and defended her and said she had worked for him for 16 years and she was always professional, and that he would speak with her. I said, "I know what I heard". I stayed with them a few more months until the PA handed me a brochure basically titled, "Don't worry if injections haven't worked for you, we have another procedure that has good success." Basically this procedure was to cut into your spinal cord area and do some manipulation or something. Immediately I thought to myself I am not going to let these people cut into my spine, and I made an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon who followed up. I should have left that facility immediately after the PA refused to provide medication that helped my pain. And I certainly should have walked out when she said the RUDE statement about the battery lasting longer than me. If you want a Pain Clinic that does not provide Pain Relief, this is your place to go. And if you're lucky, maybe you won't be Degraded by the PA.

I went to local ER (live 45 miles from Ft. Worth), and the dr. there got hold of Dr. Hajovsky who agreed to meet me at his office even though they were closed. Without any nurses, he spent 2 hours with procedures to stop further damage and help start to mend. Wednesday was the surgery, and a follow up the next day. I've never had any type of cosmetic surgery, so I was extremely nervous. Dr. Rumalla and his team quickly put my fears to rest. Every visit he was patient, attentive, and answered all of my "off the wall" questions. Lol I never felt rushed or disregarded, ever. The day of surgery (for my mommy makeover) the team at Harris Methodist all told me how blessed I was and that in Dr. Rumalla's care I could expect nothing less than greatness! Doc came in the morning of surgery, we chopped it up and I was instantly calm when he walked in the room. He came to see me when I woke up, and came BACK to the hospital that evening because he wanted to walk with me on my first post-op stroll...wow! I have many SX sisters and friends, none have reported having a surgeon like mine. A few already have plans to use him for their future procedures. I'm 4 weeks post-op, and my results still make me ask "is this my body"?! The world of cosmetic surgery can be scary, and it's still a very taboo topic in the African-American community. I did tons of research and finally stumbled apon Dr.Rumalla and noticed he had hundreds of amazing reviews so I called and they told me he works with people who are on blood thinners. His staff are organized, friendly and make you feel very comfortable! When I met with him he was very professional and upfront about the risk but he said with my cardiologist he felt 100% confident doing the procedure. He was so confident it put my mind at a ease. I also had a friend who used him as well and she said he is a miracle worker! After the procedure Dr.Rumalla went out of his way to contact me several times to see how I was doing. I see a lot of doctors and he is definitely one of a kind. Month later after my procedure I'm 100% happy with my results and beyond thrilled he covered my scar from my heart surgery which I was pretty insecure about. They sent me pre registration documents to fill out digitally about 24 hours prior to the appt. I was not aware about their blood product consent until the pre registration. If you do not agree to accepting blood transfusions or blood products then you cannot be seen at this establishment. I'm assuming it's all of the locations, not just Fort Worth, but that part was not verified. However, I think this is discrimination and unethical. There are tons of procedures that can be given in place of blood, but they obviously don't care enough to figure those alternatives out. I am upset with this whole process and just wasted months of my life waiting for something that should have been given upon the initial scheduling! Not accepting patients who don't accept other people's blood is a type of discrimination to a whole group of people and I do not agree with it. It's even more frustrating that they waited until the last minute to let me know about this!
