Had the opportunity to eat here twice during our visit to Chanute. First was during the busiest time of the year- the Artist Alley and the service was 5 stars and the food (pizza) was fresh and delicious. And the place was kept tidy. Our second opportunity came later that evening at our class reunion when the caterer we had scheduled messed up and didn't show up (their review to come next). Their broasted chicken is tasty. There's one buffet line and half of it is salads. There are generally 3 or 4 pizza types to choose from, cinnamon-sugar dough, and then another entree special. Thursday is enchilada night. Not a huge selection, but it's family-friendly and affordable. read more

The salad bar looked well stock and fresh looking, compared to the pizza bar which looked old and in need of refreshing Food The garlic cheese bread was served with piping hot marinara sauce. Stopped traveling between TULSA and Kansas City on 169. There aren't s whole lot of options available to feed the family on the road. We tried this place out of desperation because my two partners in crime were getting "hunger headaches". We were quite pleased. They had a buffet of full of salad fixings, comfort food, and pizza that was both economical and filling. The homemade fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and brown gravy were authentic and excellent. I liked the hush puppies. Our teenager liked the pizza; so there was something for everyone. I really liked the price. We will remember this place for next time. read more

Stopped by while traveling and from start to finish it was not great. The food lacked actual flavor, the salad bar was stocked but that was the best tasting thing. The pizza was underwhelming and bland; the fried chicken was fine but very flavorful. While this business is advertised as a buffet it probably only has about 10 feet of actual buffet and maybe 3 pizzas out at anytime. This being said it had a feel small town ambience and the server did check on us a few times. If you are traveling just leave this one to the locals, way better food is out available. read more

I had an amazing experience at Opie's tonight. I came in with my mother and my five kids for supper. Initially, we tried cramming into a booth, but our server came up and offered a larger table in their other room that allowed us to spread out and be comfortable. We were the only ones in that room so I didn't have so much stress about disturbing other customers with my kids being loud. It had an up-close view of their fish tank, which the kids got excited about seeing. Our server was very attentive. We never ran dry on our drinks. She was super-friendly and good with the kids. The waitress that was serving us was rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. The buffet was very small and had more options for a salad than for actual dinner. We stayed in Chanute 5 days while our RV was being worked on. We ate here 2 times. They have a small buffet for around $7.00. You can't eat at a fast food place for that. The buffet usually has fried chicken, which is really good, different types of pizzas, mashed potatoes, veggies a salad bar etc. just a great value for the price. This place gets worse every time I go. I've spoken to the manager, now it's time to go to YELP! I guess the staff thinks they work at a high class restaurant and don't need to write the orders down; trust me, they do! My order has been wrong every single time for the past eight visits! Once my waitress ran across the street to buy makeup. My pizza was wrong. They remade it but we had to wait an additional 25 minutes. Another time while waiting for our food, our male waiter picked up our plates before our food arrived at our table!!! Despite the fact he took our order 5 minutes prior and there was another wait staff there and a total of 4 tables occupied; he forgot we didn't want the buffet! When the food arrived we didn't get meat sauce on the pasta! Fridays is usually catfish day. The last two Fridays there was no fish. I'm done! I then decided to get a taco pizza and bring it home. It was cold when I picked it up and was not the thin crust I ordered! Had a meeting to attend so didn't have time to have it remade! Won't be back! read more

i stopped into this place to get lunch and several co workers recommended it. first the girl who waited on me was less than friendly...seemed like she wished she was somewhere else. there was only 2 other people eating in the whole place, which I found strange since it was lunch time. when i got my food, I was less than enthusiastic about it's look and taste..the only good thing was the price.
