Like any other Oporto, you know what you get when you order here. Always pretty quiet which is nice. Also in terms of what is close by its is Oporto or KFC so not to much else in terms of fast food around. read more

We all have that favourite kebab shop that we swear has the best kebabs in all of Sydney. Well, I'm…read moresorry, but unless your favourite kebab shop is also Brothers Kebabs on Princes Highway, you are sadly mistaken. Playing homage to their Turkish origin the Brothers boys ensure all their kebabs are of genuine Turkish quality with only the best meats on offer including beef, lamb and chicken to mix and match with the fillings of your own choice - including tabouli, lettuce, onion, cheese, tomato and more - to create the ultimate kebab to suit your tastebuds. Prices are average starting from $8.50 for a kebab and extra for special fillings, which may seem steep but at the end of the day, how can you put a price on absolute satisfaction? And for just an extra $3.50 make sure you order hot chips as a side, their slightly lemony flavoured chicken-salted chips are a definite must. But to make things even better, the kebab shop is open til late for all those party goers looking for a late night feed after a big night out. They say alcohol makes your food taste better, but in this case, trust me, it doesn't need it.

I can barely count to 22. You know what's important in a good burger? Balance. You can have all kinds of crazy stuff and one giant patty and whatever, but for mine everything needs to be in proportion and work together, and the cunningly named Single Decker did just that - juicy thin patty, cheese, pickles, mustard, sauce and bun that all meld into a hand grenade of deliciousness. Just pull the pin and throw it at your face. Can't wait to try more. Full disclosure: a colleague bought this burger for me. Oh, and the results of the man vs food challenge? The nuggets made in Australia have it done right. The Big Brekkie Burger had a crispy hash brown sandwiched between two Aussie beef patties, ham, egg, cheese, and BBQ sauce. It was a filling breakfast before my flight home and hit the spot. Service was standard. They had plenty of seating near the window to watch planes take off and land. Took a few minutes to figure out how it works - you order at the counter, he gives you a bucket with a number, cutlery and sauces, then you can take a seat - which by the way the night we were there were at a premium. Beer and wine available - take a tip, have a beer, the wine is served in a tumbler and a bit ordinary. The menu is as the name suggests - ribs and burgers. Lip-smackingly-good sounding ribs and burgers. We were both on a ribs mission, so although the burgers looked and smelt fantastic, pork ribs it was. These babies are the premium price, with beef and lamb also on offer and sides of fries, salads and wings all available. The ribs came pretty quick and they tasted wonderful. Like all ribs, they looked big on the plate, but I have to say I could have had two. The serving size is about half of Hurricanes, but in reality it is adequate. The fries are unreal - buy a plate, you won't regret it. All the food is served on enamel tin plates, also pretty funky and of course pretty much bullet proof. I would have to say next time I will be sure to order some wings to start, cos they look great and I could use the extra. Watching the folks around devor their burgers they also look pretty schmick - a few to choose from so it might take a few visits to get the range! And the good news is, I will definitely be back.

I had a soy mocha and I was pleasantly surprised, so much so that I ordered one for the road when we left (a very rare occurrence). Strong and sweet, as a good mocha should be. The food was great. I ordered the smashed avo and my wife had the corn fritters. The smashed avo was $21 and it is from memory the most I've ever paid in Sydney for two pieces of bread, some avocado, seasoning, and one egg. I actually really battled with justifying ordering this dish at such an inflated price. However, I will say, this was the best smashed avo I've had in Syd and I would gladly order it again. The avo itself had an excellent taste, not overpowering at all. The toast had some sort of a sun dried tomato past/spread over it and I think this really set off the flavour of the avo. Quite nice. My wife reported the corn fritters to be good, not bad, but not nothing spectacular. Obviously not a signature dish. Anyway, definitely worth going out of your way to make the stop.

It's kind of half fast-food takeaway (and boy are they fast) and part sit-down, sizzling-plate-of-meaty-goodness joint. Stone Pepper Steak is situated just inside the East (?) wing of the Westfield complex in Chatswood, right opposite Nando's. Now, I'm a fairly huge fan of the Nando's chain, but this place wins out every time. It looks a bit like a cartoon fast-food outlet, and a bit cheap and tacky, but don't go judging this tasty little book of delights by it's neon plastic cover. There's a good selection of sizzling platters (mostly Wagu beef based) with various asian sauces and accompaniments. The food is clearly fresh and the meats are good quality every time. If you choose a sizzling stone steak, the food arrives raw (the meat) on a, well, sizzling hot stone. You're then instructed (intensely but comedically) to "stir quickly", so it doesn't stick to the stone. It's cooked in seconds, and ready to enjoy. No messing around turning and so on. Can't speak highly enough of this place. It's great quality food, done quickly, and cheaply, served with a smile. Go try it.
