I had a terrible experience with Opportunity Barks. The City School program keeps the dogs crated…read morefor 6 of the 7 hours they are there. The 1 hour of training includes potty breaks. When I picked up my 8 month old puppy she was so desperate to pee and poo, she went on the sidewalk in front of their building. She was so thirsty she was panting and needed water immediately. I sent food but she did not eat there. To compound the problem, Communication is awful. They don't let you into the space. You stand on the sidewalk - they crack open the door and pull her in or give you the leash to take her out. You get 1 email a week with some photos and videos. They don't appear to read the form you fill out and don't discuss goals. I told them that my puppy has had training since birth, but their first video was showing me how to hold a leash. The second video was of a different dog being trained - they said my dog was tethered watching. Throughout the entire video I could hear her crying. No one attempted to soothe her at all. I provided constructive input verbally and in writing by email. Despite my bad experience at the City School, I was still interested in the Farm School. I went to the open house and they were much more transparent about what a typical day looks like there. But before the evaluation day (which is separate from the City School evaluation), they called me to say that they were cancelling the evaluation because I am not a good fit for their program. They said it had nothing to do with my dog, who is a very sweet Labrador, it is because I am not "aligned" with them. They were not willing to even listen to why I thought the Farm School would be a better fit than the City School, saying that the decision had been made "by senior management" and it is not worth wasting time talking about it. The classes started on time, and were structured with different skills each class. We started warming up our dogs before jumping into new skills, which was nice. They did a great job at making sure there were no nose to nose interactions between the dogs and were very patient with the more reserved dogs. We would definitely consider taking another class with Unleashed because their instructors clearly know their stuff! Our dog has mastered "touch" and "place", and he has gotten a lot better at "stay". Emily even taught him a cute bonus trick "wave"! Thank you!!

I was a little dubious given the state of her house and yard, both of which were in a high state of neglect. But I was desperate for that weekend, so I dropped them off on Friday. The weekend turned rainy, so I let Sarah know on Saturday evening that I was returning early and the dogs would not be staying over on Sunday nite. I arrived home on Sunday at 11am and called to pick them up. Sarah informed me that she would be home at 3pm and I could get them then. Later, she asked for 3:15. When I arrived at 3:30 ish, she was just getting home. Obviously, she was not home most of the day Sunday to care for the dogs, which is what she was being paid for. She later sent me a bill for the whole 3 overnights amount, $300. When I called her to dispute this, she claimed that I hadn't given 24 hour notice, which I had. But she also became very argumentative. I told her she could have $300 with a review or $250 without one. She did not respond to this and a couple of weeks later, after not hearing from her, I tried to pay her through her website. The website was not working, so I sent her cash through PayPal. I added a note that I was paying this way because her website wasn't working. I still did not hear back from her so I eventually called PayPal to be sure she had received the money, which she had. A couple of weeks later, I received my AMEX bill and saw that she had already billed AMEX for the full amount. And she took the PayPay money as well. Responsible? NO. Flexible? NO Honest? NO I would never recommend this business nor this caretaker. I would worry about her house falling apart and no one being home with the dogs. And I had to block her from calling or texting me. Buyer beware.

How could I not give the rescue that our sweet little chihuahua came from five stars? All kidding…read moreaside, our experience with Street Tails was a great one. From seeing "Scampi" on their Instagram, to communicating about her and coming in to meet her, we had a great experience. No pressure was put on us to take her home, they let us spend time with her downstairs and let us get to know her, which made us more confident in our ability to make the right decision for her and for us. Clearly we elected to take the chance and make her a part of our family - and nearly five months later, she has become an integral member of our little pack. Despite her early story being unknown and having had babies before she was taken in by Street Tails (by way of ACCT), she's seemingly a happy and healthy little one who just didn't get to live her best life soon enough. We are happy to give her just that - but we have Street Tails to thank for allowing us to be her paw-rents. I would definitely adopt from them again when we are ready to add to our fur family.

Had a really great experience at Off Leash K9, Philadelphia. Our 8 month old golden retriever, Toby…read morecompleted the 2 week off leash program and his behavior and obedience improved greatly. Prior to training he pulled on the leash constantly while trying to walk him, jumped on people and sometimes chose to not listen to our commands. After his training with Rae, he always follows his commands that he was taught at the program and is now able to walk without a leash and does not pull which makes it so much more enjoyable to walk him. Rae was a great trainer, she loved Toby and gave us updates about his progress and several pictures of him each night which we loved. you could tell he really bonded and respected her throughout his time in the program. Would absolutely recommend Rae and the program!

This is a GREAT atmosphere to entrust the care of your beloved hound if you want your dog to be part of a lovely pack. Lisa D has three peace-loving medium sized mutts of her own already. They are SO used to new dogs, an introduction of a new dog never bothers them. Your dog will NOT get a hundred percent one-on-one attention because at Lisa's, your dog is just a part of a happy pack of dogs. I hope I won't sound like a dog whisperer or anything when I say, your dog would prefer this. The owner, Lisa, works for a daycare center. She's got lots of first aid qualifications (CPR, Ski Instructor, etc.) Lisa lives with her mom. When Lisa is at work, Lisa's mom is tending to your dogs. (Which mainly involves snuggling and giving treats) That means, in this situation, your dog will NEVER be left alone. He or she will always be surrounded by dogs under the loving care of AT LEAST one human. At Lisa D's, if you dog enjoys sleeping with a human, that is NO PROBLEMA! Your dog is welcome on all the furniture and whatever sleeping arrangement serves your pup best is what will be provided. Also, if you are on facebook or have text messaging capabilities, Lisa D. send you fun pix of your dog DAILY to show you that Rover is having a BLAST. Lisa D. has a big backyard and oftentimes when I go to pick up my dog, I have to wait a few minutes because she is out there playing with all the dogs, including mine. To sum it up: If you want your dog to be the one and only, find another situation. If you want your dog to have a vacation that involves being part of a non-aggressive pack of happy dogs, you know, old school style - you can't get much better than Lisa D's.
