I was told to bring my certified, court-ordered name-change paperwork. That is exactly what I did. A signed and certified court order for a legal name change is the same type of documentation required to update a Social Security card or obtain a new government-issued ID in the first place. Despite presenting that documentation along with my valid ID, I was still refused service for the exact issue I disclosed in advance. So while your response emphasizes that the paperwork needed to be "reviewed in person," that review ultimately concluded that official court-certified proof of my legal name change was somehow insufficient to establish that I was the same person -- which is difficult to take seriously. The problem was never that approval was not "guaranteed." The problem was that I followed the instructions your office gave me, arrived with the requested documentation, and still had my time wasted because you do not understand how to handle a straightforward legal name-change situation or were unwilling to exercise reasonable judgment.
