Okay, I'm not sure why the low ratings here. So I wanted to write a review to help them out because they deserve it! I'm a PNW newbie and my Hawaii car registration was up this month so I had to finally get Washington plates. Not knowing what the process is like here, I called them and had so many questions. The lady on the phone was so nice, patient and helpful. I learned that I didn't need to do an emissions test, I didn't need to do an additional car inspection, but I did need to bring in certain forms since we are military. She kindly said if I had more questions, to just call her back. Right when I walked through the door, I was greeted and was helped right away (I came at a good time because there was no one in line!). The process was so easy and effortless and the lady who helped me was very friendly. In Hawaii, getting your car registration is a nightmare. Don't get me started. So its a breath of fresh air to know that I will be having an easy time with car registrations while I'm here in Washington. The hours are convenient, a major plus that they are open on Saturdays. Parking is ample and there is a good sandwich place next door. Also, cash or check only. It's awesome that they put an ATM inside, super convenient! read more

I was trying to be patient as well as nice, however since there seems a Statewide Lack going on this needs to be addressed to the one in charge. Lack of is not my expertise, considering I paid a transfer fee of $171.00 and still do not have my paper registration just a receipt showing I came in and paid but I'll be damned if my registration was ever even processed considering I have nothing to trace. I contact state office on their Facebook page, and I should have known, the lack continues there. It's a damn shame tax payers dollars pay for crap like this. Unprofessional, uneducated, and no desire to do better. Have physical plates with a forever sticker but can't put them on my car, why? Cause nobody knows what the hell they are doing! Anytime one thinks about going to the dol we think about long lines and bad customer service. My experience with them was the complete opposite. Called in advance and was directed immediately to an associate (was not placed on hold) and was told exactly what I needed to do an out of state transfer. Came in to workers who worked with a sense of urgency valuing each customer's time. Much appreciated for such a pleasant experience. I was treated very poorly by two of the women in this location while listening to a male employee yelling from the back about something! I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was no one in line when I entered the location and the two females behind the counter were not interested in helping me at all just chatting on the phone! As stated above there was a male screaming from the back at one of the girls on the phone. Finally after a wait I was asked if I needed help as if it was a very big problem for them that I was there for assitance. I simply asked about renewing a tab that I was late on renewing and was talked to like an idiot, so poorly that I turned and left without another word because nothing I would have said would have been approapriate, something they do not seem to care about. Great management! I bet the worst one was the manager she seemed to have an attitude that none of the others seem to challange. Being from seattle where people are perpetually rude and passive aggressive, I like to think that I have a pretty high tolerance for people with bad attitudes. The woman I dealt with (not sure of her name) was excessively rude. I called ahead about a name change on my registration. I asked specifically what documents I needed to bring, and was told ID and my marriage certificate. Nothing else. I came prepared with extra documents including social security card, current registration, and some other just in case. What I didn't bring, the title to my car. Why? Because this chick never so much as brought it up. I packed my son up in the car, drove to the licensing place, and was "greeted" by an already grumpy woman with a scowl on her face. She told me I didn't have my title and that was required. I told her I specifically called to see what was needed so I didn't have to waste my time going back. Instead of apologizing for giving the wrong info, or lack there of, she told me I was wrong and I was told to bring it. Lol NOPE. Lady you were on speaker phone. My husband heard our convo, and confirmed you NEVER mentioned the title. If you hate dealing with other people so much, get a job that doesn't require it. This is some of the worst customer service I've had in awhile. Needless to say, I'll be driving the extra 15 minutes to go to another location. read more

BAD EXPERIENCE EVERYTIME! Granted they may be quick, but they're soooooo rude. I rather drive across town to the DOL in Parkland to be RESPECTED than to come here. And for whatever reason, they always require some EXTRA paperwork that another DOL doesn't give a crap about. I don't see why it matters when its all through the state?? WHY isn't it just consistent through ALL branches?? That's inconsistent, inconvenient, and just RIDICULOUS!!!! Now I could POSSIBLY get over this if y'all were not so RUDE.
