I noted on my intake that I have controlled Sjogrens Syndrome and allergies, which is why I use a certain brand over the other. No big deal. The exam went fine, everything went well. Until the end. I was told after paying that I wouldn't be given the contacts prescription I paid for and was just given the glasses prescription. Why? Because I have an autoimmune disorder and the optometrist wanted to "know I followed up." I have a PCP, I have a specialist, I have my own health under control. If she didn't see any issues with my eyes and I had no complaints, charging me for a service and then not providing the prescription is theft. I called in later to see what information they needed from my doctor for the prescription and I was told they actually WILL give it to me.....over fax. Still hasn't been faxed. I'm very confused as to why I entered a chain optometrist and still have not received what I paid for and then dealt with bad service through and through. This wasn't inexpensive, was completely out of pocket and I still need new contacts. Waste of time and money. Do not go here. Edit: So after calling them dozens of times, emailing Walmart Corporate, sending a medical release, calling them again, calling Walmart Contacts, calling Walmart.com and speaking to the optometrist herself, they sent........my eyeglasses prescription. Though I was charged for and PAID FOR a contacts prescription on the first day of December. Definitely forwarding a complaint to the higher ups about this store. Wow.

It's big and the walk down is easy. Savage Mill is a former mill that's been converted and has various small businesses, restaurants, hands on activities, offices, a large booth style antique store, and various other options. There's even a fencing club. The interior of Savage Mill is lovely with the shops portion being two floors and it has a modern wood grain look. As you get further into the mill buildings, they have more offices and it can get confusing due to the number of floors and hallways with nothing but doors. The booth style antique store named Antique Center at Historic Savage Mill was a pleasant surprise in the basement. It has a good mix of high- and low-end booths with things from comic books to vintage plates. Is Savage Mill with coming out of your way to visit? Absolutely. This was one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises during my visit to the area, and I'd recommend it to others. Just make sure to budget enough time for a visit.

Office is clean and well organized. Twice I needed an eye exam for an acute issue and they were able to fit me in. When there was an issue with the lenses in my new sunglasses, they worked with me to get them fixed. (The lab made the mistake, not their fault.) There haven't been any other issues with the other glasses my husband and I have purchased.

I have been very satisfied with my all of my examinations. They have a very wide selection of stylish frames. Depending on what you're looking for. I will continue to have my yearly exams here. I just wish they were open on Saturdays. I'm sure the employees can appreciate being off on the weekends. That's a Sweet deal for them being an optical shop and all.
