Of course the sunglasses have a special frame which excludes many many places that could fill the prescription. I wasn't gonna be there long enough to get my glasses back at the nyc lens place so I came home and searched around and found Alexander Daas. The moment I walked in the manager, there immediately knew what pair of glasses I was wearing, and completely understood the challenge for other places to try to create prescription lenses for these glasses. But not to worry, we know how to work with these sunglass frames. they proceeded to take all the measurements fill out the paperwork, I paid for the prescription, and was told it would be 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before I got my sunglasses back. Up to this point the service has been exceptional, friendly, efficient, and most importantly knowledgeable. Fast forward two weeks and I went in to pick up my sunglasses. I tried them on and everything was spot on. Very happy with the end result. I highly recommend Alexander Daas. Even though it's a longer drive to get there from where I am it's worth it. After some research, I found the items for less on Amazon, so we called Hansens. My fiancé spoke with them, and they were willing to price match. Enter Patty, the awesome manager! Additionally, when it my glasses failed to come in on time, they had not followed up or noticed until we called (they said about a week, that was 2 weeks later). When I asked for a copy of my prescriptions they were really resistant to giving it to me at first- saying I didn't need it if they were ordering the contacts and glasses ( I DID NOT order contacts through them) I had to explain that I need it to have my flexible spending account reimburse me. It's my prescription- it shouldn't matter the reason, they should give me a copy if I want it regardless. They agreed to email it but by the end of the business day is was not there and I had to have my husband stop by to pick up the prescriptions. I'm not sure why they were unable to get it to me when I was there- I do think they were having some computer trouble (which might have been part of why they were resistant to giving my prescription in the first place, but even if it wasn't that part wasn't explained to me). felt pressured and they were trying to get me to buy a years worth of contacts initially- even when I said that I had still had some at home. However, when Dr. Swikard was out there with me it was a completely different story and everyone was fine with me not ordering any new contacts.
