I'm a level 14-16 O2 patient whose also in hospice. I understand changes because of COVID, however compassion, empathy & kindness shouldn't suffer change. I was parked in handicap & because it was raining I figured I could make it to the lobby to sit down, otherwise I would had to unload my wheelchair. Once I got to the lobby heavily breathing & carrying my tank, I was immediately told we had to wait in the car or like 1 family in the rain. I was livid! the lobby was empty granted someone walked in behind me, it would've been nice to have been allowed to sit down . I left the lobby made it back to the car my phone rang & I was told I'm next I can come in. I said, I just left the office, hung up & I walked back in at the same time my wheelchair was being rolled in. I explained to the desk how upset I was that they didn't have any compassion for someone on O2 only for me to come right back. I saw the dentist & as I was being examined heard laughter & a loud lobby. I thought oh, so now it's ok to have people wait in the lobby. I was so upset I couldn't concentrate on what was going on with the nurse, thankfully she excused herself I assume to have a word with the desk. She came back apologizing. I wish I remembered her name. Time for me to leave & the lobby has people in it. I assumed there where patients in the lobby when I heard the giggles so I said. It's ok for them to be in the lobby but a oxygen patient has to walk back & forth. No one said anything & I made sure I told them I was going to complain. I hope my next visit is handled better. I was told that they didn't do oral surgery. Yet online it says they do oral surgery. My oldest needs work done. They know this. He has autism though so I guess that's why they won't do it. They told me I had to go all the way to Chicago to get it done. Yeah you try traveling with a nonverbal child that has special needs. read more

My daughter is 5 years old. My daughter had an appointment on 02/25/2020 to have cavities filled. The dentist was negligence and lacked communication skills. The dentist walked into the exam room with no dental assistant, no instruction regarding what he was doing. He used a qtip swap to administer oral gel, he allowed NO time for the oral gel to numb her gums, and grabbed the needle (still no instruction) and proceeded poked her several times after she YELLED and SCREAMED for him to stop. I stood up and asked him to please STOP. The dentist walked out the room with no dialect or instructions into what he was doing. No apology. Three dental hygienist rushed into room, stating that the dentist had not inquired about assistance from them, that they typically administer nitrous oxide before administering a local anesthetic to a 5 year old child but my daughter and I were not given that option. He could have possibly hit a nerve, my daughter has been sharing that her gums are in pain. During my daughters dentist appointment, Dr Srinivas Durshanapallis (owner) failed to properly instruct my daughter and I of anesthesia being administered, he did not acquire about her tolerance of pain, failed to withdraw needle after possibly hitting a nerve with a 5yr old (I had to stand and ask for him to stop), he failed to monitor my daughter after causing emotional distress and shock, and he failed to recognize complications. He should not be licensed allowed to treat children in this manner. My daughter and I are traumatized from this experience. My daughter and I cried for 30 mins after this incident. read more

I have been to Optim Dental before and was very pleased. This time (both appts) were Horrible. The dent ist there is HORRIBLE! I can not stress this enough! I waited in the chair for an exam for 45 mins. Once in the room, he was in such a hurry he did not even speak to me, just said extraction and pa upper right to whoever might be listening. Apparently no one heard as I had to tell the assistants what he wanted done. Went back for the extraction that I feel could have been delayed or saved by perio therapy. He numbed me with the most painful infiltration injection I have ever felt. Once again, he let me sit after that for 45 min again before extracting the tooth. So, by the time I got home the numbness wore off before I could get Motrin in my system. Very painful. The assistants are still great! I feel sorry they have to work with him. I am in search of another office and won't return to this one until they get a new dentist. The current dent ist clearly is not interested in patient comfort! read more

They were very slow in pace , unsanitary , & the women & men were unprofessional & rude .The Dr. did not properly clean my teeth & it was a very painful experience . I was spitting out excessive blood & the assistant was spraying my face with the water she was supposed to be using to clean my mouth with . They did not care of my discomfort & he assured me the pain & irritation I have been having in my mouth for months now was nothing . The whole practice was improper . Got me in quick which is great but I was in excruciating pain for days since the procedure. Unless I went in on the Drs hours, it wouldn't be addressed. I have two kids, husband is out of town and no help so I'm not sure how that's supposed to work. I actually have missed 3 other appts this week and have barely slept or eaten I've been in so much pain. I've had two other root canals and I believe the pain after the procedure is normal, but the treatment I've gotten for it is not. The place is filthy and most of the staff is also. Not all of them but it's just unprofessional all around. Plus, you get to hear the doctors tv show of choice (not yours like most places) blaring while he's working on you in between listening to him go on and on about how great and wonderful he is at his job and how much happier you'll be when he's done. Also, I don't know who is responding to the google reviews, but they tell people who have had a bad experience to call the office and they'll see what they can do to "resolve the issue". How does that work after someone's already had a traumatic experience? Will they go back in time with you and do everything differently? Give you a full refund? I highly doubt it. This is the kind of mentality you are dealing with when you enter this place. Just be cautious when dealing with them. They may be able to get you right in, but there's probably a reason for that... read more

My Dental horror story with Optim Dental in Peoria IL. I started by needing a dental implant in June of 2019. After receiving my initial appointment and discussing the options for doing this, I agreed to do one of the 3 implants that I require because my insurance will only cover up to $1500 per year. They said they would get preapproval from my insurance before they could schedule me. The office in Peoria decided to submit for doing all 3 implants and was declined by my insurance due to the expense exceeding the service amount allowed for the year. I called a month later to find this out because after it was declined they failed to let me know and failed to schedule me an appointment. I had to call the insurance company myself to find out why one tooth was declined and they told me about them submitting for all three. I was upset but it was a mistake. I called the dental office to have them resubmit the correct order for the one tooth and it took another month because even though they could have faxed or emailed the request directly, they decided to send it in USPS mail (snail mail). This took another month to finally get my appointment. They then charged me upfront about $950 dollars to ensure they would be paid for their service prior to doing anything. I paid this and they then told me the dentist was out of the country for a family emergency and would not be back for another month or more. 2 months later (it is now November) I finally got into the office for a bone graft. I told them it was very important that they finish this procedure before the end of the year in order for this claim to be in this year and my benefits could renew to do my next tooth the following year. I was assured it would happen. On Dec 18th I was in for the implant with no issues and they took the cast for the crown and told me they would let me know when it came in. I just called today (Jan 9th) almost 4 weeks later to find out how much longer it would be before the crown came in. Well the office manager was not in during my Dec 18th appointment so I was not told of an additional $540 payment required so they never sent the order off to the lab and failed to even let me know again that they made ANOTHER mistake and did not tell me so now the service will have to be charged for this years insurance and will leave me with not enough money available to do my next tooth for ANOTHER YEAR!!! This is the absolutely most poorly run office I have ever seen in my life. They do not follow up with their patients, they mess up orders and they cause so many delays it is ridiculous. It should not take 7 months to do one single implant. Please do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but here. read more

Please do not use this Dental Service. They extracted the wrong teeth in my mouth intentionally to boost up the bill. They removed the back teeth when it was the middle teeth that were infected and causing me pain. They also did not numb me very well and I felt everything. When I called out, "stop, you are hurting me", and screamed, they told me to stop it immediately that there were children in the building. They refused to inject more novacane. They were rude and when I tried to speak with the Dentist all afternoon they told me she was at lunch. I don't drive and couldn't get back there. Then they were closed all weekend. I have been forced to go to another dentist and pay another amount to fix what they didn't do. It's a mess. I am going to the Department of Regulations, who oversees them. This is on the advice from an attorney I notified. Small claims would cost me more than I could re-coop. Please, please save yourself this agony. read more

I always recieve great care here at Optim Dental. The staff is all friendly. My concern however is how they fill the waiting room with toxic air fresheners (both time release spray, and wall plug-ins). It gives me, and I'm sure others, a headache the minute I walk in the door. I feel like I cant even breathe in here. I literally try to breathe into my coat or whatever so I don't have to deal so much with the overbearing scent of toxic chemicals. I really wish you guys would remove these. read more

Changed location months ago yet the address still say S 6th street. Had my mom standing outside in the cold trying to figure out why the doors were locked. Didn't seem to care when we called. Let me start off by saying that I have been going to the dentist every six months for a cleaning since I was a small child. I've never had a cavity and I brush/floss twice per day. That being said, my visit to Optim Dental for a routine cleaning was the absolute worst and most painful experience I've had at a dentist in my life. At the beginning of my visit the assistant took X-rays, which was a typical experience, she was also very friendly. The dentist, while friendly, was awful at doing my cleaning (that being said, why is the dentist doing the cleaning anyway?). He scaled my teeth with such force that I vocalized in pain (something I have never done during a dental cleaning before). The doctor did not respond to my indications of obvious discomfort and instead trudged on with the cleaning. After the scaling, that's was it. No polish, no flossing, not even one of those little goodie bags containing a toothbrush and some floss you normally get. All I left with was a sore mouth, bloody gums, and a desire to brush my teeth...Brushing my teeth that night was an uncomfortable task, as my teeth were very sensitive and my gums were sore. It has been 24 hours since my visit and my gums are still sore and eating food that has any sort of rough texture painfully scrapes against the sores left after the cleaning. I will not be returning to Optim Dental and caution anybody considering making an appointment there. I have already booked my next cleaning 6 months from now with a different dental clinic. read more

I paid for a cleaning and exam. He refused to do the cleaning, tried to make me feel bad for not having insurance and not being able to afford going to the dentist before now. I informed him that I was traveling with my boyfriend for work, that we'd be moving to the. Ext job within a week or two, and if Ike to get a cleaning and exam so that I'd know where I'm at and what it would cost to get the repairs I need. He wouldn't touch the cleaning (and wouldn't discount the cost despite the lack of service). Was going to charge an extra 600 for a cleaning, 3000 for all the work he says I need, and told me it would be at least three months of work. I won't be here in 3 months. Or 3 weeks. He got mad at me, explained how he has student loans and I need to pay him for all these services so he can pay off student loans. From California. I took my X-rays and left. They were crappy X-rays. And not worth what I paid. I suggest ANY other dentist. read more

TERRIBLE!! I received a bill for a procedure that I was assured I had already paid my entire patient responsibility. I contacted the office every day for over a week to clarify. Each time I was given an excuse why there wasn't anyone that could help me and although I left my contact information, I never received a call back. I continued to call and was finally connected with a woman who could supposedly help me. This woman barely allowed me to speak. At one point the woman told me the incorrect date for the procedure and when I tried to verify, she told me she was not going to argue semantics with me. The woman told me she did not care about my concerns, that I was a liar, to write a complaint if I wanted, but assured me it would not matter, that I better pay my bill or she would send me to collections, and that I was never to contact their office again. Then she hung up on me. This office has unbelievably terrible customer service and business ethic. I'll also mention the place is filthy and the staff have no concern for confidentiality or HIIPPA violation as they openly discuss personal patient details and insurance information from their desk across the patient lobby. Please don't make the same mistake I did and subject yourself to the treatment Optim Dental provides. read more

went here for emergency procedure during Easter weekend which told me had deal for exam and XRay for $29.00 which I paid. Told didn't want to bill insurance because only have limited amount a year and was going follow up with my regular Dentist. The dentist there said I had cracked tooth under my crown which turned out to not be that but infection on my gum. Then 6 months later send a bill with nothing showing I had paid anything and called there NEW office manager who said there was law that had to bill my dental Insurance. Which I could not find this to be true. Now they have turned over to Collection the bill already paid. In an emergency DON"T ever go here because you will spend alot of time dealing with legal issues and FRAUD which this certainly is. Run Never stop Here. read more

Completely terrible, I would not waste your time or money at this establishment. If Walmart was a dental office, this would be it. They completely rushed people in and out without any care. I waited for over one hour and thirty minutes because there are only two dentists, who do all of the work, that were too busy helping other people. They seemed completely understaffed and crammed with customers, I would almost say they overbook the office daily. I saw three customers in the waiting room get angry and leave because they waited over thirty to forty minutes for their appointment. The dentist who did my work did not even give me his name, I had to do that research on my own after the appointment. Both the dentists and the assistants just rushed you in and out, I would really avoid it at all costs if possible. read more

I think this is fraud you decide. They tried to double dip fees. They said they could do a root canal through a cap but when I showed up for the procedure they backed out and denied they could do it or ever could do it. They lied to me about different things through the course of my visits and phone calls. They lied to my Insurance Company devastating myself and my Insurance Company.
