When I finally arrived to my scheduled appointment they were very busy but I expected that since it was on a Monday. I had to wait but it wasn't that long. The staff here is very friendly and I have had nothing but a good experience here. I have been to Physical therapy in the past in "other" places and I have to say Brick-Run has been one of my best experiences. I feel that I have gotten a lot more attention here than I have in the other places I have been too. The physical therapist (Gurjeet) for me is amazing. He really is attentive and clear about what I need to do to feel better. He really spends time to stretch out my shoulder to loosen it up so that I can do some specific exercises. His staff sets me up for my specific sets of exercises. They make sure that I do them correctly. I am supervised until I understand what I am doing. I don't need someone to stare at me to do the exercises because I have to be able to do them on my own so that I can do them at home. I know that I have to put the work in to make my shoulder better but I feel that this office has really helped me with my problem.

He did a detailed workup (studied my MRI and other diagnostic reports, asked questions about my symptoms, and did his own tests of my movements) He thoroughly explained his conclusions, as well as how the exercises he prescribed would address my problem. He even got on the phone with a physical trainer I was seeing to advise about what sorts of movements I should and should not do. Berzisht was always patient, attentive, and willing to answer questions. He truly cares about his clients and is sensitive to their individual styles or needs. The 134th Street staff--Kariata (I hope I've spelled your name right!), Vanessa, and Brenda--were also very friendly and helpful. Other PT places I've succumbed to have been marked by tension in the air because the friendliness is superficial, the smiles glued on. Or the young PT staff gave me an exercise with a number of repetitions and then huddled in the corner to talk sports and their recent weekend frolics. Not so here: I feel an improvement and where I used to go home feeling depleted and pessimistic, I walk out of RSPT feeling stronger and hopeful. And aside from the congenial atmosphere, the exercises I've been asked (very sweetly) to do make sense. I don't see other patients given identical routines: the place is more like a cheerful gathering of neighbors (for a common purpose) than a factory. Tomorrow is my last visit of 2025, because Medicare will only cover 28 visits in a twelve-month period. My enthusiasm for this practice and the people in it has only increased. The atmosphere is friendly without artifice, not the professional friendliness of people who would really rather you go away so they can continue chatting about last night's sports event. You might not notice it if you knew me six months ago, but I feel stronger and more mobile. This is not, I assure you, because I religiously do the exercises at home. (Long pause here.) But it is because the people I work with, especially Francy, Melissa, now and again Alex, Hannah, and Annabelle, have understood what exercises might help me and have guided me through them. The pleasantness begins at the front desk: Arlinda, Madeline, Michael -- all genuinely solicitous and humane. I think they understand that people come to PT with a certain amount of pain, impairment, and the accompanying embarrassment. Because of the gentle-spirited, light-hearted owner, Alex Sherman, the feeling of uncritical welcoming acceptance is felt all through the practice.
