When I called them every…read moreyear to ask them about this, Cablevision would give me consideration after I threatened to disconnect my service. However, this year was the straw that broke the camel's back. I received a written notice that my rates were going up for 2012. I called customer service and wound my way through to various departments. I explained to them I had been through this rodeo before and I'd like to work with them to lower my rate again. However, this time was different. I was told by the person on the phone that they could "do nothing" for me. So I called their bluff and switched to Verizon Fios (which had not been an option previously). Fast forward a week or two after I signed up for Fios and I started getting "Come back to us" calls from Cablevision. The best one? A call where a customer service representative berated me for a half hour for switching, threatening that I will "regret" my decision and telling straight out lies about Verizon (for instance, claiming they had no tech support after 7pm, which is untrue). She couldn't explain why I had not been given discount consideration when I initially called, and I told her that had that customer service rep given me the discount then and there, I would have stayed. After that conversation, I received a couple more phone calls from different representatives and several pieces of mail offering me a gangbusters deal to come back, but it was too little too late. Another note: the internet service became atrocious over the years. When I wrote my first review in 2009, it was fantastic, but by late 2010 and 2011 there were times I couldn't even get a google search done without walking away for a few minutes and coming back. Contacting their tech support never resulted in any success in resolving the issue and often it would just be because so many people in the area were taking up bandwidth that I was simply hitting a choke point. It's always sad when I have to give a negative review, but the fact is that having a customer service person berate you for making a decision with your own money is just bad business practice. Having them lie as well? Even worse. Poor show, Cablevision.

If you're looking for someone who gets the job done, goes out of his way to take care of the customer and responds quickly to a request, then definitely go with Harry for your TV/AV installation needs. A friend of ours found him on Google and recommended Harry to us. He was very quick to respond and provided us with a very reasonable quote, especially given the amount of work that was involved with our home. When he and his assistant arrived for the first appointment, he spent nearly 7 hours taking care of everything we needed. It was a lot of TVs so understandably it took a lot of time, but he was extremely thorough and wanted to make sure the work was done right regardless of how long it took. Unfortunately one of the TVs we had ended up having issues after it was mounted (which had nothing to do with Harry or his work). Harry was kind enough to remove the broken TV from the mount (so I could get a replacement asap) and offered to come back again to finish the job at a later date at a very reasonable rate. We were so satisfied with his work we ended up asking him to mount another TV for us in addition to the replacement TV. He does a great job of making sure wires are concealed and the proper cables and outlets are re-routed as needed. He does a great job of providing that "clean" look that people look for when it comes to mounting TVs. I would strongly recommend Harry to anyone who's looking for someone who can do the job right and knows how to take care of his customers.
