This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They have gone up in price , the service is terrible and you can't get people to help you. They held onto our phone number until the next billing cycle before they would release it and are saying that we have to pay the full bill even though we only used the service for 4 days. back in August 2025 when cable got unattached from the main pole, and was laying across the road, cars were driving over it I have try to call Optimum only to get answer from robot, I had to call 911, firemen cut the cable off, finally my husband got to talk to someone. They promised to come fix it, nobody came for three day, had to keep calling and after three days without internet ( kids had to do homework in the library) it did get fixed. If I could put zero stars I would. I work an hour away from my apartment and I cut out half my day to sit and wait for a tech to come, only for him to walk back and forth for an hour and a half, mumbling constantly, than tell us he doesn't feel safe putting in a cable AND LEFT! Called customer service and was told the next available time is 5 days from now (after waiting a week) but they would transfer me to someone else. Once transferred, I was told another tech would come out and help and nobody showed up (shocker.) Meanwhile there's no service at our apartment. Had a wire down. Called on Friday when I first noticed it (barely noticable sage, had high winds the previous day). Got told someone would be out by noon on Sunday to fix it. Sunday comes and goes, wire is still there when I get home from work (5:00 pm). It's now 5 feet off the ground and I nearly walk into it. Call on Monday, get told someone will be out by Tuesday between 10:00 and 10:45 am. Wire is about 4 feet off the ground now. Come home on Tuesday, 4:00 pm. Wire is torn near the pole, one side laying in the road, the other is in my neighbor's yard and tangled in the bush. My gutter is torn from my house. Call optimum, get told the appointment is now 4:00 or 4:45 pm. Only saving grace is that the wire has no power because we don't have their services anymore specifically due to this reason. The worst service at premium pricing. Our internet & TV channels are spotty at best. We scheduled a visit to replace our cable boxes and internet router on Monday. They never showed all though the appointment confirmation came in. Who ever the Tech was, noted we weren't home. I was here all day, with my family & dog who would have alerted us of their arrival. We rescheduled for today & again the same exact thing happened. I lost 2 full day's waiting for them. Conveniently they claim there is not a supervisor for me to speak to. I'm supposed to get that call back, which hasn't happened yet. Again, our TVs are down. We pay $320 a month for their unreliable bundle. read more

Do you hate watching something on Netflix without stopping to reset your router?! Is working from home during a pandemic with spotty internet your idea of relieving stress?! Do you wish FaceTiming with your loved ones because you can't see them in person wasn't always an option?! Then try OPTIMUM! I've had this service for three weeks and it's trash. Customer service often takes 3+ days to respond. I've kind of just had to accept that 8-12 times a week I'll have to get behind my couch, exactly where we asked the tech not to install our service, and reset the router. Optimum is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The lack of service unbelievable. I went to the Optimum Store in Greenwood Lake NY on Tuesday to swap out a box that was not working. I went home and tried to hook up new one and it was faulty. I had to go back to the store a second time. While I was there, their system was down so of course had to wait. While i am waiting the market manager Justin was in store and trying to sell me Optimum mobile. When I refused saying I wasn't happy with the service I currently have with them and that the only reason I am with them is because they have the monopoly in my area, he continued to try to sell me. When they were finally able to provide with another box after about 25 minutes, I asked Justin for his phone number in case I experienced any issues. He did give me his number, however he did not return my call when I indeed had issues. It is now Friday December 13th, and I am still having issues. I spent 35 minutes on the Optimum chat where I repeatedly asked for the regional vice presidents contact information to be completely ignored. I lost 3 days of work, still have issues with the service and to top it off my bill went up over $24 this month. What am I paying for??? I am honestly at the end of my rope with this company!! read more

Didn't understand the equipment they install nor how to use it. The one guy didn't know the difference between modem and router and tried replacing my cable modem with a router. Dont need a router. The Optimum location in Matamoras, PA is not open on Saturday. We drove a 60 mile round trip to Greenwood Lake, NY to get a replacement modem. When we got it home, we were unable to get it to work. This is because the replacement we received did not have the information on it wiped off and neiither was our customer information entered. This meant over 20 minutes on our dying cell phone to get this corrected by a phone rep. Train your store personnel properly! Wasted so much time today. read more

Hold your modem folks...i have been waiting 4 MONTHS FOR INSTALLATION. No joke. In my rural NY town (but literally 1-1/2 hours north of NYC, not that far from division!!) Optimum is the ONLY high speed internet available. Requested service on 1/31/2019. Absolutely no customer service whatsoever. Got responses from the only contact info I was given, salesnewbuild@altice.com , that were one sentence long, like : "this needs a survey which will take 5-6 weeks. The survey is attached." What??? Makes no sense. The email I was given promises to respond next business day, LIES!!!! Then I was given info that it needs "pole licensing. Will take 4 to 5 months". What??? When I asked "what is pole licensing and why does it take so long?" I got absolutely no response. By early April I filed a complaint with the FCC and was contacted by Corinna at Cablevision Corporate Executive Customer Relations in Bethpage, NY. WHAT A JOKE. She repeated back to me what I already knew, and that was it!! Fancy name for an office full of reps who do NOTHING to resolve a problem. They just repeat what you already know!! What is the purpose? I called again and asked for a different rep. The new rep, Michael, was more sympathetic. But he blamed bad interoffice communication, and did nothing to resolve the problem. I then complained to the Public Service Commission, and got another call from the same office at Cablevision!! Pam left a message that she saw I had been speaking to many people and would "investigate" ( I.e. nothing). When I did speak to her I was PISSED. And she turned apathetic and rude. If I had a choice for internet I would have NOT dealt with this crappy company. Their executive level customer service is nothing more than a phone call back to let you know what you already know. I would rather had given them 0 stars. I returned our equipment on 5/22 when we moved out of state. Due to the billing cycle started on 5/21, I was told we may have to pay for the entire billing cycle of 5/21 to 6/21. The customer service rep at the Greenwood Lake Store gave me a phone # for a supervisor and said they could change the disconnect date to 5/20. My wife spoke to this supervisor and she said she would indeed update that info.. Month later, we get the bill for 5/21 to 6/21... called customer service, was transferred to a supervisor and was told that we are responsible for the bill, and they didn't know why the customer service rep or other supervisor would state otherwise, even though we didn't even have any equipment to use the service! read more
