Customer service was okay. However, their locations are so far away, it's nearly impossible to get ahold of them to be able to possibly request a return label for their equipment. This company baited me with a promotional deal: $60 for 1GB internet, then mobile lines with a BOGO $45 plan, totaling $85/month. After signing up, none of that pricing showed up on my bill. I reached out immediately and was told it could take "up to two billing cycles" for the promo to apply -- but they were already billing me the wrong amount. This company has the absolute worst customer service ever. I am speaking about on the phone. The in-person reps at the brick and mortar store are pleasant to deal with, but extremely limited on their ability to take care of problems. I am seriously considering changing internet and tv providers. I've had it with being told ten different stories, and getting unpleasantly surprised with billing. It's ridiculous. A horrible company. They are not even BBB accredited so that says all you should need to know about them. They refuse to credit you for the days you have no service which are quite often. When I recently cancelled them I was charged a full month's fee for only four days of service. Do NOT hire them. The one star review is one too many. read more

My 1 star review is quite different than the others in that I actually have no complaints on the rate I got, nor did I have any complaints on my connection. I signed up in Jan of 2023, and to make things easier for myself, and optimum, I paid $490 in advance. 6 months later, I am moving to a different apartment. Same complex, same building, just a different apartment. All I needed to get done, is SIMPLY transfer my service from one apartment to another in the same building. In order for me to accomplish this request, it took 5 bound phone calls in 3 days, multiple call backs from Optimum as they said they would call me, they did, however when they called me and I would say "hello", no one one would respond. This happened multiple times, so I would have to keep calling back and talk to someone who would not put me through the same 'call back' process again. I am not being sarcastic, I can and am happy to take screenshots of my phone showing proof that I literally spent 5+ hours on the phone with optimum......just to transfer service on my paid, never late account. Talked to roughly 13 employees, but one conversation in particular with Stephani, holy moses! Stephani advised me that they cannot schedule service in my new apartment because their is active service their already. (I live there, and can confirm I, the resident, do not have any active service there). She then advised me that the technician they already have schedule to come out Monday to "disconnect", will have to "disconnect" the service that is non existent, and then Wednesday is the soonest I can have a technician schedule me for connection. I asked Stephani, if they have to send a technician out to disconnect, and they knock on apartment 306, what is going to happen when it's me who answers the door? Are they doing to realize there's no internet to disconnect, that technician waste his time and leaves, I go 2 more days without internet and then you schedule another technician to do the same thing the first technician was capable of doing? She was a robot. Incapable of thinking outside the box. Incapable of realizing a solution. On top of all of this, an erroneous re-occurring $10 charge was added to my account after the first month. Being that I had paid in full and was never sent a bill, I assumed they never sent me a bill b/c I was paid. However I then find out, that optimum had my address wrong. I found that out because a different lady advised me she could not talk to me about specifics on "my" account because when I was asked to verify my address, and I gave her my address, she said it didn't match up. I told her I was already a customer, paid in full 6 months ago, and that I have an account so whatever account they took my money from, that's the account I need assistance with in finding out why my bill went up. That phone call, like 12 others with optimum, was a complete waste of my time. Turns out, a representive admitted to me that they had the incorrect address, someone had put a request in to change it to the correct address, but for some reason, it was not corrected. Therefor, if optimum did not change my address as requested, if optimum raised my bill, how was I supposed to know this? Online? Well I tried to sign up online but they require an account #. The account # was not being given to me on the phone, you know, because optimum had my address wrong. So when I try to find my account so I can do my own research on my account, optimum refused to give me my account #. Refused to transfer service. I was going to pay in full again. I literally had zero issues with optimum, until I had to call them for what should have been a S-I-M-P-L-E service address change. You guys cannot even change a wrong address, you can't transfer service, but you can hire incompetent employees and pay them however much you pay them an hour, and whatever that hourly rate is, multiply it by FIVE, and that's how much money optimum pays their employees to change someone's address and transfer service. I am the 6th review of this company. I am the 6th 1 star review. It's not the service, it's not the pricing, it is the UTTER INCOMPETENCE of the employees. I attached screenshots showing proof that Optimum internet took up 5+ hours of my time being on the phone with them. They take advantage of older people. A veteran we are close to has had issues with them since he started service. The past 2 months they have said he owes over 400 and around that time we found out someone had used his account to open service in a totally different state. So they started "investigating" and last week sent a notice saying he owed 190 and now today they decided he owes over 700 dollars!!!! DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE!!!!!!!!!! They take advantage, are money hungry, and are of no help. Hopefully we are able to resolve this issue and get his money back to him and drop optimum. They should not be allowed to operate after doing this! read more

If I could give a Negative stars I would My father was ill and had to move out of service area. They would not allow us to close his account. You can not cancel service in person, you cannot cancel service online, you can only cancel the service with this number they give you. After being on hold for 97 Mins they hung up on me, On hold for additional 58 mins and hung up on, then on hold for 46 mins and hung up on. They told me I could not close the account because I wasn't on it. A couple days go by and my Father was hospitalized and placed in hospice care. They still say no that he will have to keep service. When I finally get someone to help me close the account I had to pay another months service fees because it crossed over a day to the next cycle, and he hadn't used cable in a month! read more

If they had a minus star would have used it. the internet goes out at least 10 times a day. Had 2 repairmen out, replaced the modem, Still goes out 10 to 12 times a day. Plan to move soon so not going to have the service turned off. read more
