When I called 2 weeks ago I hoped to solidify payment, insurance, I obtained all of my records. I did her part as well. I have elected not to return as I get into pain with Darlene's rudeness and antics of promised phone calls never returned and being at 73, told off over the phone. Its a shame as if its happening to me, its happening to others. A definately stressful environment. I was just bringing all of my records today? I do not feel anyone should be medically treated with a preexisting severe injury, before notes are read and x rays viewed. Yet I have been there twice and the6 had to ask me all of the body parts broken/injured. All happens for a reason.

This place is run with the low quality of care and the place is run by Patricia who is the only qualified physical therapist all all the rest of the employees are pt assistants or pt interns who just take orders. Sometimes she's not even there. I was diagnosed with tinnitus by my Primary Doctor Dr. Ojen Masour who reffered me to the place. I thought I was a good hands. I spent TWO YEARS GOING HERE! I and was there for an hour two days a week doing the work and paying out the nose. My Primary doctor diagnosed me with Tendonitus and I was doing everything I was supposed to, and I endured a huge amount of pain that very, very slowly decreased but I still had pain when I stopped going there. I didn't learn this until years later that I should have been out of there in 6 months. Not until I moved out of the area and went to a different physical therapy place. The new physical therapist was much more professional and through at taking measurments/modern tools, and medical notes with my first appointment and she quickly determined that I had Tennis Elbow. Once I started with the new physical therapist the treatment was far less gruleing and I was done in 6 months. I don't know the first thing about filing a grievance, and I can't go back in time to get my time or money back. Thought I wish I had listened to my inner voice and stopped going to them and gotten a second opinion. There was a several times I asked Patricia to provide me with my prescription so that I can go somewhere else. She got psycho angry and said no! There was a time I thought she might hit me! I was in so much pain I couldn't stop seeing them because if I just missed one day of physical therapy my pain would rapidly increase. Patricia was furious and she got close to my face and said no. SHE IS A BULLY and she was convinced she was giving me the right treatment when in fact she had two much pride and ego to even consider I could be misdiagnosed. Unfortunately I learned later until I spoke to more friends including my sister who is a Nurse she told me the Physical Therapist should have given me the diagnosis in the first place NOT my Primary Doctor. Its the Physical Therapists job to do the assessment at your first appointment and give the diagnosis.

Her first therapist was the founder of this establishment John Geary. She subsequently has had as a therapist Kathy and the very knowledgeable Debbie both exceptional therapists. She probably has a plaque there with her name on it with her own room. After a horrible accident a few years ago Diane and I were made whole again thanks to the terrific people working there. It's like a large group of people who are like family to us. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. They handle it all. Therapy on shoulders, knees, neck, arms etc are available to patients who will receive expert care. The office with luz, and Karen is knowledgeable and efficient, and along with the lovely Nicole they all make the therapy a wonderful experience. I would be remiss in not mentioning the terrific staff that puts you through the exercises lead by Patty and Sam. All in all they will expertly take care of you in this amiable environment . They are amazing in how they put up with me. I truly recommend anybody in need of therapy to find their way to this establishment that is perfectly named a community.

Although my MRI's and scans showed disc compression amongst other concerns, Rod and his team ASSURED me if I kept to my PT program and exercises, I'd be able to rehabilitate. I'm 55, I was really worried, I had tons of pain all the time. 3 months later, I'd completed my course of PT and have been continuing exercise and have returned to 100% activity level, pain free. I was in a great deal of pain and extremely anxious because what the doctors were calling a "sprain", wasn't behaving or healing like a sprain. Michael reassured me that even though we didn't have all the answers, treatment would focus on pain relief and restoring my strength and mobility. I'm happy to say, that's exactly what we accomplished. When I started working with Michael and Daniel, I was on crutches and my left leg was non-weight bearing. Over the next couple weeks I progressed to using a cane and by 4 weeks, I was walking completely unassisted. The personalized care Michael and Daniel provide is excellent. I can't thank them enough for giving me my life back!

On this particular day, I was introduced to a physical therapist named Alex, a first-time interaction, who said he would be applying heating patches as part of my treatment. I consented to that procedure. What followed was not that. Without warning or consent, Alex reached beneath my clothing, stretched my underwear away from my body, and inserted his fingers into my backside. I was in shock. I froze. And like so many women who have been conditioned to stay quiet, to not cause a scene, to not make things uncomfortable for the people who harm them, I walked out of that clinic in silence. That silence ends here. I called the clinic days later and spoke with the manager, Beatrice. She offered an apology that felt cold and dismissive. She then requested that I come in for a face-to-face meeting with Alex present. As a survivor of sexual violence who has spent years healing from the shame and guilt that was placed on me by others, I could not subject myself to that. That request alone speaks volumes about how this situation was handled. I am a rape survivor. I know what it costs to speak. I am speaking anyway. I am filing a formal complaint with the California Physical Therapy Board and working with my family's attorney. Alex should be held accountable. And anyone within this organization who chose to protect him over the patient he violated should be equally ashamed. No more hushing.
