As a student who has been to too many schools to count - this by far is the best place i've been. I've been exceeding because of the laid back rules. Some people think being more laid back can be bad, but it's truly a family. Students aren't uncomfortable to ask questions or be different whereas that's an issue in most schools. The small classrooms are a huge perk! It offers way more one on one time between the student and the teacher for more learning opportunities. The staff makes sure you have work completed and if you have missing work, they come to you and make sure that you'll get it done, making it both easy to catch up and hard to fall too far behind. Definitely recommend for kids with issues learning or communicating. read more

The Options Charter Schools provide a caring community to students seeking an alternative to the traditional high school program. Utilizing a variety of innovative approaches, we focus on the educational success as well as the health and wellness of each student. Our purpose is to develop responsible individuals who are skilled problem solvers and caring, productive citizens.

History

Established in 2002.

Options' educational approach is based upon the 40 Developmental Assets that have been identified by the Search Institute as the building blocks for healthy development in young adults. Students and parents become familiar with the connections between The Developmental Assets and academic success as they begin to see the students learn to set and obtain appropriate and measurable goals in the areas of academics, behaviors, and social emotional growth. Asset building becomes the foundation for the continued personal growth and development of each student.

Meet the Business Owner: Michelle W.

President/Chief Executive Officer. Outside of options I love to cook and experiment with different foods and recipes. I also love to lift weights and feel strong. I have competed and qualified as a national competitor in power lifting. Most of my time away from Options is spent with my three children and my husband. We love all kinds of sports, camping, and just having fun together as a family.
