We came in to our appointment and we were greeted and services very quickly. I came in for a eye exam for contacts. I was not satisfied with my prescription on my left eye (astigmatism). I came back and Dr. Ragsdale was dismissive and said my prescription was correct, when I am the one wearing them with blurry vision. He gave me a different brand, which did nothing. I came back with Dr. Clayton, who was MUCH nicer and took the time to actually try and correct my prescription. I left with blurry vision in my left eye again. I asked for a refund because I didn't want to keep coming back and wanted to get a prescription somewhere else, but they wouldn't give me one. I have gotten contacts multiple times from multiple places, and this is the first time I actually had a problem with the prescription. I strongly do not recommend this overly priced place. The wait times are also insane. You wait 5-10 mins after your schedule, then wait another 10-15 before you meet one of the doctors. read more

I was told Dr. Ragsdale does not mask. "Are you comfortable with that" I was asked. I replied "no" I asked why he is not masking (thinking he had a medical issue, but no... ) the receptionist stated and I quote "that is his preference." Yikes! I said to myself. I just can't believe it! I compare this scenario to someone smoking... yes, that is someone's choice, but when the smoke is in your face and it affects YOUR health is that really a good and responsible choice? Very disappointed with Ragsdale and his staff. They said my first visit would be more (with my insurance) but when I ordered contacts again, they would be a lot cheaper. It wasn't what they promised when I went to get contacts. I was lied too and would be very careful. It was double the amount. After checking with my insurance (months later)they never billed them for my glasses and contacts. read more

I found Ragsdale Optometry in Riverside during a search on Yelp and made an appointment for an eye exam, glasses and contacts. As expected from the other Yelp reviews, I was delighted with Dr. Clayton, the staff and the selection of glasses frames available. Of course they accept vision insurance. This particular office does not accept Care Credit at this time however, their Moreno Valley office does - notable since I am currently not working and self-funded the cost for the visit. I was pleased that they offered a discount because I paid out of pocket for their services! I do recommend this office to anyone searching for an optometrist. I really loved this place but they really had messed up my whole order and insurance in December. I came to get daily's in December of last year, 2021. I had brought in my new prescription. I paid and thought all was done, but they mistakenly ordered me monthly contacts instead off of my old prescription. At first they didn't want to correct it saying It's what was on the prescription but I had my prescription so they agreed to correct it. They said a manager would call me back to discuss the pricing options which they never did. Also mentioned it was the holidays so it wouldn't come till January more than likely. When they called me to pick up my order, I was then told it would be about $500 which I just wasn't expecting, especially since this is a new prescription for me and spending that much on a new contact I wasn't familiar with wasn't a good idea to me. Well here we are 2022 and I tried to purchase some glasses today elsewhere, and I can't use my insurance because Ragsdale decided to use my 2022 insurance in January instead of correcting the insurance billing for December 2021. So now my 2021 insurance went to waste and they used my 2022 incentives. I don't recommend this place read more

It is decorated super cute and comfortable and they have a really good selection of glasses. I assumed they would be super pricey but not at all! My wife and I were searching for a place to get an eye exam. Since we moved to Moreno Valley 6 months ago, we have been trying to find locations closer to home. We found Ragsdale Optometry and set up an appointment with Dr. Clayton. Upon arriving, the staff member who greeted us was very nice. Then everyone else there who greeted us was very nice as well. When we were led to the back part of the office for the exam, Dr. Clayton entered the room and greeted us both. When speaking to us, he was very upbeat and very knowledgeable about our eyes. He made us feel very welcome and was very patient as we tried to focus on whether we saw better or worst. I have been to many different eye doctors, and none of them ever made it feel like they were truely focused on my eyes and if I was really comfortable with how I was seeing. I am so happy with the care I have received for over 4 years now. A friend of mine from work has suggested I go to The Optometric Center of Moreno Valley. She had suggested Dr, Ragsdale. At the time I made my appointment he was on vacation so I scheduled instead with Dr, Clayton. He is wonderful easy to talk to and he really puts you at ease while getting the eye exam.
