It's all about supporting local talent & believe me, the 'Burgh has plenty. Intimate theater and truly not a bad seat in the house. Show tickets are very affordable. They have performances for everyone from improv & standup to sketch and more. It's crazy how much I've laughed at shows. Best way to spend a day or evening. Staff are super rad. It's never stuffy or boring, and many of the concerts feature folk music from the 16th and 17 centuries. The ticket prices are very reasonable, and the seating is much more intimate than the symphony or even the chamber music series. Definitely well worth hearing, this is a nationally recognized group with some exceptionally talented musicians. Each concert features virtuoso guest artists from around the world.

Come and check it out. Just know if you prefer space you need end seats and seats in the wings.

I experienced the Grey Box Theater as a venue for the Dress for Success fundraiser. it is a fun…read morespace in Lawrenceville that can be rented to host special events, parties, fundraisers, concerts, etc. It was a neat space that can easily be used for a variety of things (as is evidenced by the fact that it apparently previously hosted a cat circus...). Even though it is a "theater" there is no stage which makes it a versatile space. We were able to set up seating for a panel discussion and guests along with cocktail tables. There was also a great deal of lighting options which can really add ambiance to your event. They also allow you to bring your own food and drinks which is a plus since a lot of venues lock you in to a certain caterer or don't allow outside items. The down side is that if the event is during the day, you need to find on street parking which can be a challenge in Lawrenceville. Overall a great space for a smaller special event.

Maybe a lot considering it was a nice, intimate place to view cats doing amazing things!! I was sitting in the second row on the left side and I still saw everything pretty clearly. As my very smart friend Aja J states, it would have been a bit better of they would have staggered the seats per row, but I still saw just fine. Maybe if I was in the back it would have been worse, considering the last two rows were standing the entire time. I can't blame them. It was exciting and I'd wanna see every second of it from the last row as well as the second. If you're coming here to see any type of show, I'd imagine it would be just as intimate. Would it be as amazing as a cat circus? Probably not. Not until the next time they come into town anyway!

They not only inspire and entertain, but reveal a world of culture that would otherwise be remote to us. Most times the groups perform at Synod Hall, but there are other venues around the city. Synod Hall is a very live space that closely approximates the kind of places this music was originally performed. The groups are always engaging and the performances lively and fun.

They keep it up really well and make sure that it is clean for every show. They also keep the chandeliers clean and the paint updated. The ushers are always helpful and the staff at the concessions are nice too. We have seen so many wonderful Broadway Shows and concerts there with so many talented performers. We're so lucky to have such amazing talent and so many amazing shows come to Pittsburgh every year. We're also starting to get some of the most popular and current shows from Broadway. The concerts are so much better there since it's a small venue and most seats are good seats. They have artists from all different genres which is nice too. We have also seen some good comedians there too. If you want to see a good show then you should see it at the Benedum.

Currently, they are IPA and DIPA heavy, but within the next month or two we can expect some other options. I love the decor, the pastel colors, the exposed brick, and the casual and comfy seating areas. They offer rental spaces with very reasonable pricing. Parking is out front on Butler, but isn't nearly as chaotic as trying to park on the other end of Lawrenceville.

They have are great big space including taproom seating, a lounge, and two larger areas in the back. They have some limited outside seating. Lolev usually has rotating food trucks and hosts fun events/comedians/music. There are cans available to grab in the taproom. There is street parking available. They are also Pittsburgh Brewers Guild members so you can get a stamp and prizes here.

There are seating options in booths, tables and a raised platform in the back. you can really see/hear well from anywhere in the venue, but the side booths you might lose some perspective. i don't particularly like the new QR code ordering because it can make it hard to actually ask questions about anything (and the servers are so busy it is hard to catch them to ask).. there are a variety of food and drink choices (apps and entrees) and they are on the more pricey side, but that is to be expected at this type of venue.
