However, the billing department has serious issues! At the time of infusions, we paid our copay amounts. After a month we get an invoice with a balance for the first infusion. This was followed by another invoice after a week including both infusions. There was no mention of the copays that were already paid. I called the billing phone number on the invoice and was told we do not owe any money, as a matter of fact, we have a credit coming. She did not have any explanation of why the invoice did not reflect the actual transactions.

I have gastroparesis, POTS, autonomic neuropathy, and orthostatic hypotension and am to receive 2 hydration infusions of a bag and 1/2 twice a week. I DEPEND on these to prevent dehydration, which is one of the main reasons people with gastroparesis end up dying. Well, last week fire to the call and scheduling center's neglegence, they apparently only scheduled me for Friday. Not only that, when we showed up Friday at Florence Palmetto Infusion Center, they had been expecting us earlier. We showed them the card and I was already in tears because of the hell I had been through that week (witnessed by my boyfriend and my parents, who I have to live with because my health issues are so severe. My mom had already spoken with someone named Britney at Palmetto Health Call Center (number (803-771-7740, who said she had everything straight for the next two weeks-we found out from Florence Palmetto Infusion Center that this, also, was not true). Let me tell you what I have been through the last week because of this company. I have been through severe dehydration, rapidly fluctuating glucose levels, waking up during the night due to high blood sugar,, having to have my parents and boyfriend help me walk I have been so weak and wobbly, not able to see and focus on things, feeling like I am on drugs and out of my mind, not understand things and extreme confusion, not having any physical control over my body, and praying fir God to please take me home because looking at the world that way and not even being able to control any aspect of your body is so scary. That is the result of this company's negligence and how little their scheduling and call center cares about their clients, most of who are very sick. People need to be fired & it needs investigation and reorganization from the top down.

The DON and ADON were both unprofessional with how they communicated to me (a guest), as well as the employee. Not only were the attitudes of the management unprofessional and unpleasant, as was the attire being worn throughout the building. The apparel being worn is indistinguishable unprofessional and unacceptable. If the other workers have to come in with a uniform on, and still looking professional, then that example should be being set by upper man. The lack of care is becoming visible more and more as I visit. This place needs to be investigated by the state. Ever since I started visiting, i've noticed that its nothing but a liability to the city. Patiently waiting on mom to finish her therapy so I can rescue her from this place of hell!

We were pleased with his level of care & the attentiveness of the care staff. I was pleased with their level of communication - they ensured I was in the loop regarding what was going on with my father. He adjusted well and we felt confident his needs were being met. He moved to the Memory Care unit (MC) a few weeks ago and seems to be thriving in this new area. The level of care is different, but still great! I have no doubt my dad is in the best place for his needs. I would definitely recommend the Presbyterian Community. The only less than positive thing I can say is the facility is quite dated and is in need of being updated. But, the facility is safe, clean and appropriate.

I started on 9/30 25. Orientation with KJ and Ms. Marlette was great! My official start date for…read moretraining on the floor was 10/04/25 and 10/05/25 7am-3pm., and 10/05/25 and 10/06/25 from 7pm-3am. On those days on the floor I was trained by a CNA lead who was great! I thank her for showing me what to do. On 10/17/25, I had a group to myself. That's when I knew I was not staying. I called later that day and resigned and let them know why, it's a stressful job and I was not putting all that wear and tear on my body. No one should! The work there is very stressful and puts a strain on your body. I have been a CNA for 16 years. The patients there are two person assisted, they are very short staffed and the nurses are lazy. Example, I was assisting a patient with a bath, after the patient got dress, she was taken deep breaths, I asked, "are you ok" the patient replied she was experiencing SOB, I went to the nurse station to let one of the two nurses sitting there know what the patient was experiencing, the nurse turns around and asked if I knew where her nurse was at, I replied, "No" then she got up to come into the patient room and replied, "Oh, she just needs to put her oxygen back on and put the tube in the patient nose and walked out the room. My thing is every patient on the unit is everyone's responsibility, why should I go look for the assigned to the patient when you were sitting there. Another example, a co-worker and I teamed up to help each other with rounds, changing our patients and giving them a bath or shower. She let the nurse know she was helping me. After we walked out of one patient room to enter another to change and check on them, the nurse comes up the hall and asked her if she had the patient in room (000 for example) she replied, "Yes" the nurse says, his call light is going off, but you are sitting up here doing nothing except being on your phone, my co-worker looked at her and said, "I told you I was helping with rounds and baths, and asked the nurse why she couldn't go see what the patient needed. The nurse turns around and walks off. My patients were two persons assisted so I needed help for safety precautions. There needs to be a total of six CNAs on the second floor for both shifts and five on the first floor. They also need to have a group that does showers or baths so when the new shifts come on, they can focus on vitals and rounding. I see why this facility is always advising for CNAs and short staff, no one stays because of the conditions. No, one needs to ever have 22 or the entire floor to themself. I always saw violations that need to be corrected because if OSHA OR DHEC ever came again, they would definitely fail. Example: when my co-worker was helping give one of my patients a shower there was dead dry skin on the shower floor, we had to clean the shower before we put the patient in there. What in the world is housekeeping doing, I have witnessed housekeeping come and clean the entrance of the patients rooms, not cleaning the entire room or cleaning their bathrooms. They do need to purchase up to date beds for all patients there because the beds are outdated. They also need to purchase up to date vital machines so when the CNAs complete getting the patient's vitals, they are automatically uploaded in the patient's chart so when the nurse assigned to that patient can see the vitals before giving them their medication. Also, they need to purchase six COW (computer on wheels) four upstairs and two downstairs for the CNAs to do their charting. This will make the job go smoother for the CNAs, as they do their rounds they will have their COW and walk out the room and chart instead of writing down what they have observed and waiting to chart on the KIOSK in the wall. I wish I could get a job with DHEC or OSHA and go to facilities to inspect to make sure that all standards are being met so family members will know their loved ones are in a great facility being well taken care.

Before I found Vertex, I was cynical about how well physical therapy worked. I had only been to one…read morePT practice where I was scheduled for an hour with a PT doctor along with 2 or 3 other patients. He would give me an ice bag for 20 minutes to put on my injury, then work with the other patients who had the same appointment time. When he returned to me, he needed a debriefing about why I was there again, because he couldn't keep his patients straight. I felt like I could have done the same things at home and saved myself a lot of time and money. I think I went twice, total, before I gave up. Vertex operates within a whole different model -- one that enlightened me and has influenced the entire PT industry in Columbia, as other practices are now trying to mirror Vertex's approach. Each PT doctor meets with just one patient the entire hour, and a lot of progress is made in that hour. I have been patients of Vertex's founders, Dr. Jim Floyd and Dr. Brandon Vaughn, and both are exceptional -- very bright, innovative, and caring, and their integrity and patient-centered approach is apparent in all they do and in the kind of people they hire. I have seen multiple PTs at their clinics, with Dr. Aimee Depelteau being the one I've seen the most, and all have been exceptional. As a patient in my early 50s who is trying to stay active and strong for a lifetime, I have had a range of injuries that Vertex has helped me get through. If I'm injured (again), I go to Vertex for a consult for a faster diagnosis and treatment plan than I would get via an MD (as SC does not require an MD referral for the first several PT visits), and I get the bonus of not having to pay for things like X-rays, MRIs, etc. unless I truly need them. I'll always be grateful to Dr. Floyd for saving me from having surgery for a herniated disc in my neck, thanks to his wisdom and treatment. This is a smart, well-trained team who is passionate about their work and good health. Dr. Josh Jeffery and Dr. Vaughn have a great podcast, Better Faster, and many of the PT team engage in fitness coaching on the side and train hard themselves. Highly recommend.

She had been in the hospital for a week and they felt she was ok enough to go to rehab. There was a plan put in place and a Hoyer lift was to be used for my mom to use the bathroom, etc. It was NOT used the entire weekend. NHC gave my mom a dementia medicine Friday night after I left and a depression medicine on Saturday morning before I arrived. My mom DID NOT have dementia or depression and was NEVER prescribed those medicines. A short time after I arrived, my mom complained that she couldn't breathe and she stated a few times that it felt like something heavy was on her chest. Those are the side effects of those medicines. The next day, Sunday, my mom informed me that she felt like she had no hope and that she was going to die. On Monday morning, she told me that she prayed to die and when the awful, uncaring in-house doctor came into my mom's room and asked if she wanted to be resuscitated if her heart stopped, she stated to let her die! I can't even tell you how awful that is to hear! What in the world happened after she got to NHC??!! At the hospital just 3 days earlier, she wanted to live and stated that she wanted to be resuscitated if her heart stopped!! Dr Greenhouse has got to be one of the most heartless doctors I've ever met! He never met my mom, didn't know anything about her but yet did not want me to tell him anything about MY mom, to whom I had been a caregiver for years! He obviously feels he knows everything and wants it all done his way. And even some of the CNA's feel he is uncaring. Later, OT came in to work with my mom and I stated that that the Hoyer was not used all weekend. He immediately went out to speak to the nurses and told me that the plan is put in place for safety reasons. After OT, PT and lunch, which was about 4 hours of my mom sitting in a wheelchair, she was in a lot of pain and wanted to lay back down. The nurse would NOT use the Hoyer lift and made my mom sit there in pain until the CNA came back from lunch. When the next shift CNA put my mom in the Hoyer, she looked like she was going to fall out of it! The CNA asked if it was too big for her and I said it was the same one used earlier in the day and it worked fine. My poor mom looked like she was in so much pain sliding through that opening. Later I spoke with the night nurse, Dorita, about my mom's roommate who arrived earlier. I had already witnessed an incident where the roommate was very agitated and was using profanity after wandering away from the room and being brought back. I expressed my concern to Dorita, stating that if the roommate were to get up and think my mom was in her bed, that she could potentially push my mom to the floor or worse. Dorita's response: "Well I cannot control what other people do, but we'll keep an eye on her"....WOW!! NO concern whatsoever!! I had already witnessed how much they "keep an eye" on patients! About an hour after I spoke with Dorita, the roommate got up and proceeded to urinate in a chair in front of me, as well as using my mom's stuff to wipe herself and then threw herself into my mom's wheelchair, while covered in urine and her pants were still down! I had already pushed the call button but had to go out to find Dorita who was standing at her cart right outside the door!!! Finally they moved my mom to another room but I had to tell them to move her in her bed instead of transporting her in the Hoyer, which would have added more pain. And these are the people we are trusting to take care of our loved ones!!! I left at 10pm, letting Dorita know I was leaving and my mom seemed fine. At 2am Dorita called and said my mom was going to the hospital because she had labored breathing. At 230am she passed away as they put her in the ambulance. When I asked how often my mom was checked on, Dorita couldn't answer me. Michael Manley and Susan Vanwey never responded to my certified letters. Unprofessional and uncaring people! I can't imagine if this is supposed to be a good nursing home, what a bad one is like! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!
