I was selling another property and just wasn't comfortable with the escrow company being suggested, especially after seeing their reviews on Yelp and Google. I was ready to fall back on one of the three escrow companies I have previously used, but was also surprised to find that their recent reviews were no longer impressing me, so I searched for a new escrow company and came across Lighthouse. There were lots of excellent real customer reviews, and they had a legitimate webpage that estimated my fees, a list of people working there with their bios, and the company felt very professional compared to the others. I was impressed that not only did somebody answer the phone, but they were also able to answer all my questions. After a few phone calls with Lighthouse, I requested them to be the new escrow company and the realtor and buyer both agreed. I can say without any doubts that my experiences with Danylle Hallahan at Lighthouse Escrow and her team were outstanding and exceeded anything I've experienced through several other escrow companies I've used. All the fees were clearly laid out before me, and there were no hidden fees. The best part was their communication. While my parents introduced me to a family friend who was a real estate agent, I had no idea how to go about finding a loan officer! After digging through Yelp/Google, I stumbled upon Meridox Mortgage that had stellar reviews and took a chance. I called Meridox and was put in touch with Trung Tran. I let him know that I didn't have any knowledge of how the house-buying process works, but he was incredibly supportive and assured me he would walk me through every step. Shortly after we finished talking on the phone, he sent me a list of items to provide for the pre-approval letter. Trung's turnaround was quick. I sent him my information in the evening and got the letter the next morning. My real estate agent used this letter to draft the offer...it was accepted! After my offer was accepted, the rest of the process was somewhat nebulous, but my real estate agent worked closely with Trung to help me through. Trung was with me every step of the way. He patiently explained how my monthly mortgage payment and closing costs were calculated and even helped me negotiate a home insurance offer. He even kept a close eye on the market and advised me when I should lock in the rate.
