Ed is our best kept secret!!! We recently moved into a new home in Ladera, and have a million things that keep popping up we need help with. My fiance is handy, but some things, he just can't do by himself, and we need a discerning and expert eye. Ed arrives with his truck, decked out to the brim with every single possible tool you could ever need for ANYTHING. It's amazing. He helped me initially hang a large framed piece of artwork (56"x74") on our LR wall, which is made of slatted boards and I did not want to get ruined. He did it with precision and expertise. Then he came again today to help my fiance hang a VERY heavy ceiling mount (to hold a boxing bag and TRX) in the garage. Trust me, this was NO SMALL FEAT! It took over 2 hours alone! WOW! I needed help for installing 2 garage ceiling mounted 3x6' racks. Ed came over on time and was very sensitive to covid safety measures (wearing mask, keeping the distance as much as possible). After his initial inspection he told me that the racks cannot be installed because of close proximity of the sprinklers to where I wanted the racks mounted, due to CA's fire/hazard regulations. He was honest and very informative, taking the time to explain the details. He also followed up with me a day later with the right racks that can be installed (out of his pure desire to just help me after noticing I was upset). This was the best handyman experience my family has ever had. Scheduling was simple via their online form, and Ed was incredibly responsive in the days leading up to his arrival. He did a variety of odd jobs around the house, and the work was extremely high quality. He also went beyond the call of duty by sending us links to products we could buy on our own (e.g. different light bulbs) that would save us money in the future. I had a great experience with Ed. He came to my house to change some lightbulbs on my cathedral ceilings and clean out my dryer vent. My ceiling were too high so he could not change the lightbulb although he had the tallest A frame ladder on the market. ( Poor planning on the builder's part...not Ed's fault) He proceeded to fill the two hours with various things around the house...fixing the ceiling fan, hanging two pictures, fixing the garage door opener, and changing the a/c filters. Its true you never seem to have little problems to you own the place. We have had a few little things pile up since we bought our first place. I found Ed on Yelp, and aside from the ratings I appreciated he took the time to write back positive and negative reviews and he was very receptive to criticisms folks may have had. To me, thats a sign of a good businessman. Ed was great. Promptly emailed back and had me setup with an appointment within a few days and was on time. We had him fix our bedroom closet, which the previous owner thought a dry wall screw could hold and support the rod (ripped out of the wall), installed a retractable screen door, a new fixture for our shower and a few issues with our toilets. What amazed me is he was done with all that in an hour. Rather than check out, he fixed one of my doors that wouldn't stay open, and asked me if there was anything else he could look at or fix for me. Im not the most handy person, but i appreciated him explaining to me what he did, and things around the house that I might want to change in the future, and what costs might be. We had Ed come by a couple weeks ago to help with a number of things I have no business attempting. He is efficient, professional, and I feel like an all around good human being. He wasn't bothered by me asking questions, curiously watching some tasks, or pretending to help! He did the following: - installed our doorbell (nest) - mounted 20 linear feet of thick chunky floating shelves (four 5 ft pieces) through a kitchen tile backsplash. This was the biggest reason we needed a handyman and he was very upfront about potentially not being able to find a stud through the tile, but he did! - mounted a heavy duty TV mount for a 65' - mounted additional light fixtures, curtains, etc 5/5, we'll be looking up Ed again in the future! read more
