Of course you can have a book shipped from any OC library to one close to you but I was curious about the Tustin library, never having been there. I walked in and my first impression - it's HUGE. An enormous lobby with a large children's section to the right and a larger adult area to the left. The library was neat and well organized - I found the book within a minute. So I browsed around a bit and ended up getting a couple others too. On my way to check out my books I passed a classroom full of computers, and it appeared as though some sort of class had just adjourned. Other reviews mention it is a bit noisy here but I honestly didn't experience that on a weekday afternoon. Since I did self-checkout, I didn't interact with any of the librarians so I was unable to impress them with riveting conversation about the Dewey Decimal System.

when the irvine libraries split from the ocpl system, i ended up switching over to tustin since…read moreit's the closest location to me now. the location itself is really nice. it's in the civic center, so you've got the community center and police department right there, and there are a bunch of food and drink spots across the street if you want to grab something before or after. there's plenty of parking outside, but even then on busy days it can get full really fast. there are also bathrooms available but you need to ask the library for the code to access, as i believe it changes daily. they also have a security guard who stands by the door. inside, the library is super spacious, but it's not the quietest. i wouldn't really recommend it as a study or focus spot if that's what you're looking for since it can get pretty loud, especially with kids. there is a separate quiet room, but it seems more geared toward teens. i do wish the books were organized a little better. sometimes it feels like a maze trying to find something, especially not knowing if it'll be in teen/young adult or general fiction. i'm also not the biggest fan of how the manga is set up since it's split into two different areas and i'm not really sure why. that said, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. i also love that they have a rotating table of themed recommendations. right now it's ren faire reads, but they've done things like blind date with a book for valentine's and other themed picks based on different time periods too. overall, it's a very nice facility with a wide selection of books, from new releases, manga, kids and teens books, etc.

Weekdays it is open from 9 AM to 9 PM, but closed on Sundays. Huge lot for parking. The library itself is beautiful. There's a large fountain in the center of the building that gives the space a unique, open feel, and it makes the library feel more like a community gathering place with an air of nostalgia and calmness that comes with a spa day. There are lots of tables and study areas spread throughout the library, so it's never difficult to find a place to sit. The collections are plentiful, with a wide selection of books across different genres, mixed media, and materials for everyone including a dedicated children's area. One feature that was new to me was the Makerspace. It's available by appointment for library card holders, and you'll need to bring your own design or project idea. An instructor is there to guide you through the process, which makes it less intimidating for anyone interested in learning something new. It lives next to a café located on the lower level, which is convenient if you plan on spending a few hours studying or working. Overall, this is an amazing library with great amenities, plenty of space, and resources that go beyond books. After some songs and stories there is free play for around 30 more minutes. Other than story time, the Children's part of the library is a fun place for kids to play puzzles, crawl under an orange, and find some books to take home.

Came here to figure out what was going on with my library card as I'm signed up for services on many apps like Kanopy, Hoopla and Mango.I forgot what my pin was and the staff here helped me out and let me know it's the last 4 digits of my phone number. They also issued me a new library card as the existing one I had was a joke! I got it in Fall of 2019 and it had a little animation of some books and the lamination was all janky. The library clerk was this older Asian woman and she upgraded my library card for me and I got to choose the one I wanted and went with one with the Civic Center in the background. The card came with a regular sized card and one for your key chain. Thanks to the Santa Ana library card, I'm able to get access to all of these free apps with books for e-loan, magazines for e-loan, films, t.v. shows similar to Netflix and a language app. (I deleted Duo Lingo and use Mango). The Santa Ana library card is the one that gets me the most access. Definitely recommend getting one. I no longer live in the city but they renewed the old one I had with my current address. I have a library card for the city of Anaheim, Fullerton and Santa Ana and Santa Ana's card is the best! Also the staff were all very helpful and kind. I ended up calling about my pin number on the new card and the guy that answered stayed with me on the phone to see if my pin would work and it did!

It's cozy but still hosts a TON of activities on their calendar with the really friendly staff and volunteers. I volunteered here for the Teen Tutoring program for high school credit for a civics class, but then I started enjoying just coming around and being part of the community, helping younger kids with their homework and playing the occasional board game or learning how to cook alongside the kids using their built-in electric stove. I miss those days and if those cooking or other teen-oriented programs come back, I think our younger generation is going to be in great shape! I came to the Mesa Verde Library to work on some applications today, and I think that though this…read morelibrary is quaint and small, it is also very peaceful and clean. Upon entering there are stairs that lead to a small upper and lower level for teens that has desks and chairs. I snagged a table with an outlet on the middle level rather easily, and was able to get to work. There was also several computer stations and a place where you can print documents, for a charge I believe. The staff is also very friendly, and I definitely enjoyed doing work here uninterrupted. One thing to note is that if you're expecting complete silence, this might not be the place that you want to, but if you can tolerate some noise and speech, I think that this is a fine enough place to study and do some work.
