I would recommend to come early since parking fills up due to paid parking in Old Town Orange down the street. We love all songs that all the kids end up loving to memorize and dancing to! After some songs and stories there is free play for around 30 more minutes. The YBL Library is seriously one of the most user-friendly libraries around. I found out that they have hold feature alone is a game changer--super easy to place holds online and pick them up when they're ready. This service does saves some time but ruins the experience of browsing in the library. This library have two floors. The 2nd floor have a Help Desk, which an extremely nice librarian, that's so nice and easy to talk to. There's lots of computer available for use which is great for studying or working. There are tons of tables, so you're not fighting for a seat, and the conference rooms you can book are perfect for group projects. They also have a printing station, which is incredibly helpful when you need to print something last minute. Overall, it's clean, well-organized, and clearly designed with students and the community in mind. Highly recommend!

Many people praise the kids' area and family-friendly programming, and there's also a great used-book nook run by Friends of Yorba Linda Public Library Book Corner that's perfect for finding cheap finds and supporting local programs. There are also useful services like passport processing, study rooms, public computers, and events for all ages, which go beyond what some smaller libraries offer and make it a hub for different members of the community. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that, like many popular libraries, it can get crowded during peak hours, and I've heard a few rare comments from other visitors saying staff interactions upstairs haven't always been great though most experiences I've seen are positive overall. He is very loud as he holds Zoom business calls at high decibels. When I asked why they allow it because it was incredibly loud and disruptive, the Librarian (middle aged tall white dude with a condescending, sardonic attitude) said it was fine and that he allows him to use the City of Orange Library study space as his office on a daily basis. He said its not against the rules (see the attached picture of the actual rules enacted by the Board of Trustees) and that he has worked at the library for 17 years and can change the rules if he wants to. when the irvine libraries split from the ocpl system, i ended up switching over to tustin since…read moreit's the closest location to me now. the location itself is really nice. it's in the civic center, so you've got the community center and police department right there, and there are a bunch of food and drink spots across the street if you want to grab something before or after. there's plenty of parking outside, but even then on busy days it can get full really fast. there are also bathrooms available but you need to ask the library for the code to access, as i believe it changes daily. they also have a security guard who stands by the door. inside, the library is super spacious, but it's not the quietest. i wouldn't really recommend it as a study or focus spot if that's what you're looking for since it can get pretty loud, especially with kids. there is a separate quiet room, but it seems more geared toward teens. i do wish the books were organized a little better. sometimes it feels like a maze trying to find something, especially not knowing if it'll be in teen/young adult or general fiction. i'm also not the biggest fan of how the manga is set up since it's split into two different areas and i'm not really sure why. that said, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. i also love that they have a rotating table of themed recommendations. right now it's ren faire reads, but they've done things like blind date with a book for valentine's and other themed picks based on different time periods too. overall, it's a very nice facility with a wide selection of books, from new releases, manga, kids and teens books, etc.

They do everything in their power to make the visit special for the little ones. They have ongoing games, crafts, fun backpacks and games to check out, coloring sheets, stickers, and story time. My little one always looks forward to coming here. They also have a curb side pickup which is so handy when you got littles passed out on the car. The library may be small but you can put items on hold online and they'll have it ready to pick up. They also have an inter library loan system where they get to borrow books from any library in the US. They recently brought a few items into their library of things including magnet tiles, and a steel tongue drum. This little library feels like a world of possibility at our finger tips and we're so grateful!
