On the other side of the concession stand, to the left of the entrance is an open rink (could be used for basketball, hockey or the like), where some very close friends of mine and I played rounds of "pro" dodgeball (in the style of pro-dodgeball) until we got to the tournament round and the best team won! Yes, that was the team I played on, mind you, I had about 4 pretty tough guys playing with the two of us ladies that were on the team. I managed to "dodge,dip, duck, dive & dodge" the ball as the pre-training from the movie "Dodgeball" emphasizes. It was a fun time with a great group of people, if you're so brave as schedule yourselves in there and play dodgeball or anything in a team atmosphere, go for it, its an awesome place.

There's ample parking, a snack shack, and courts to the right and left. When I've attended, pretty much every court is in play -- soccer, hockey, and volleyball. You can register a team for a fee and they organize the match-ups for a season's worth of games (a few months). But be warned that some of their games can be scheduled as late as 11pm.

I recently went to a semipro boxing match there and the experience was ok. The arena wasn't to crowded so the temperature was just fine. The seating was ok (not the most comfortable) but bearable. The grand foyer is kinda small so its tough getting in and out of the arena. Its kinda old and outdated compared to other arenas in the area.

We came on a Monday night and had quick and easy access to everything - no lines for Santa & Wool E. Bull photos, letters to Santa, the inflatable slide, and s'mores stations. We easily spent a few hours walking around with our kids enjoying all the lights and activities. It was the perfect evening! The kids also did a scavenger hunt and turned the paper in for a prize. The staff member working gave them an extra special prize that my son had adored - a replica of the 2022 championship ring!

Through the years the University has done an adequate job adding, enclosing, building, and ultimately enhancing the fan experience. It only seats a modest 55k, but there is not a bad seat in the house, and it is raucous. It definitely was on this Saturday night, partially because they debuted a light show that was awesome. Concessions have come a long way too, with the addition of food trucks and alcohol service. One caveat, be prepared to pay with credit, no cash accepted. On a personal note, I attended with one of my BFF's who I had not seen since he attended the Demon Deacons game in November '18. Suffice it to say, this experience was so much better than the aforementioned. (A member of my party at '18 game who was sooo inebriated, insolent, and a total embarrassment. She has been summarily dispatched). Also, we won on Saturday, unlike in '18. If you get a chance to run with the wolves at the Carter check them out.

I love the vibe of the parking lot on game day! Everyone is ready to go! And there are plenty of porta potties so you don't have to walk into Lenovo Center each time you've gotta go. The stadium itself has plenty of bathrooms and several stations where you can buy food and drinks. The best is the brew through which has fast and convenient service! They keep ya going fast! Coach Dean Smith led the 1981 Tar Heel team to a national championship here, with the help of a few guys named Jordan, Worthy and Perkins. Before the team relocated to the Dean Dome in 1986, the venue was considered one of the loudest (and some say, hottest) in college basketball, and Coach Smith's legacy still looms large in the building today. Yes, the seats can be tight and uncomfortable, the concourses cramped and the concession stands undersized, but Carmichael remains a North Carolina treasure, as well a great place to enjoy a women's basketball game, a volleyball match or a gymnastics meet.

Food was $8-10 with decent quality. Lives can get long do plan in advance. They offered a spectacular fireworks show the evening I attended. Show lasted 15 minutes and was nicely done. Fun outing and recommended. Now virtually nobody wore a covid mask in the audience.
