I recently went to a semipro boxing match there and the experience was ok. The arena wasn't to crowded so the temperature was just fine. The seating was ok (not the most comfortable) but bearable. The grand foyer is kinda small so its tough getting in and out of the arena. Its kinda old and outdated compared to other arenas in the area.

Most of the seats are individual seats as opposed to backless metal bleachers. They have lots of concession stands and while I'm not a Duke fan it was pretty cool they had an area where Duke fans could ring the victory bell to celebrate their win over UNC. They also have a ton of restrooms so there's not much of a wait. The stadium is mostly outside so it works well on a clear day but I imagine it could be a mess in a heavy rain. I didn't sit there but for an extra charge you can sit on the party deck where I think you get some free food and a cash bar and a side of an awful DJ. Be prepared to wait for an Uber after the game. There's not really a designated place as far as I could tell so we just walked a ways away on campus and ordered from there. They should think about fixing that. The stadium works for what is, a smaller ACC venue and I'd come back here if FSU plays here again sometime.

The electronic scoring and automatic bumper bowling are convenient features and staff is always at the ready when a slow-pitched ball from a little one doesn't quiiite make it all the way. Little Mister is a fan of the French toast and you have the option of ordering it with either cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar. Well, I suppose you could order it without any sugar at all since you can dip it right into the glorious liquid sugar called maple syrup. Or maybe it is high fructose corn syrup that tastes enough like maple syrup to pass with flying colors. The nachos are sufficiently okay. They get soggy under the cheese, and the chicken is flavorful but nothing to write home about. The potato skins are great dipped in sour cream and you can order them without bacon if you prefer. There is also an arcade that can swiftly devour your funds. Many of the games offer points that can be redeemed for treasures in the arcade store. Ultimately, you can spend a bundle of cash to win enough points for a tootsie roll. I'm exaggerating. But not too much. There are games like Wicked Tuna where you can test your virtual fishing finesse, or Jurassic park where you can blow virtual raptors into oblivion. There's even a good ole hoop-shooting game that tests your basketball skills and gives you points for your athletic prowess. Overall, BLS is a great place to unwind and have fun. Call ahead to see if they have open bowling. They usually do but if not, there's always the arcade if you want to lighten the burden of carrying all that cash in your wallet.

The Deets: I was made aware through Yelp actually that there was a practice arena for the Carolina Hurricanes in our lil ol' town of Morrisville (complete with its own cafe, another review to come) so I ventured out to see it. The Wake Competition Center is a big sports campus including the Invisalign Arena that houses the ice rinks and cafe, as well as other centers for gymnastics and volleyball that I saw and large fields for outside sports (see their webpage for details on all aspects of this multi-sport complex). Those outside sports fields were packed with people when I went in, as it is mid soccer season. The sports fields were very well kept from what I saw, very nice. I ventured inside Invisalign Arena and saw the ice rinks (one Red and one Black, for the Hurricane team colors). There was a bit of rink action going on while I was there, and not only can you sit in the stands to watch but also there are seats with tables lining the rink like a work area (see pic). This place is a pretty impressive ice sports rink facility and the arena was as packed inside here as the outside fields were, this is a bustling place! There appears to be ample parking but again it was near capacity when I visited on the weekend. I think this sports complex is pretty nice and has a lot to offer for an active sports area like the NC Triangle, I dig it!

Situated amongst the academic halls, the stadium is a bit of a walk from nearby parking. The arena essentially has been the same since its construction and has a capacity for 9314 spectators, making it one of the smallest venues for NCAA basketball. That makes it a tough and expensive ticket to get. I was there last Saturday for their game against the SMU Mustangs who are / were ranked in the top twenty five, so of course the crowd was extra lively. Also, they honored the '01 championship team and Coach K was in attendance. It was a great experience. This arena is "hallowed ground" amongst the fandom of college basketball. The history and tradition of Duke University and their basketball program is unmatched in my honest opinion. I'm lucky enough to have attended two games here, the last one being in '18 against my Alma Mater St John's University who got blown out that day. The amenities here are enough to keep you happy. They have the usual arena fare. Smithfield's has a sandwich cart and there are a few Mexican themed carts for nachos and tacos. I think Alpaca Peruvian Chicken has a cart as well. The concessions offer candy, popcorn, burgers, hot dogs etc.. Nothing extraordinary. You can purchase beer and wine. You are here to watch great basketball and not necessarily for the A+ concession offerings that people expect these days.

With less than 10,00 seats here, to watch one of the best programs in the country play, this place gets insane! The Cameron Crazies and all the fans get very loud in here. The energy is unmatched. Make sure to come and check out the campus prior to the game, it's absolutely beautiful. Also go check out the campus stores for all your Duke gear/memorabilia needs.
