First I just want to say I ordered this on a whim because my normal smoothie place was already closed. I ordered a smoothie and large froyo for delivery. It is really sad when I mostly just taste ice in my smoothie and my froyo is not even halfway filled with froyo. I dug into the toppings to see how full of froyo it is and marked a black line on my photo to show how ful this is. It has more toppings on it then froyo. I did not get my moneys worth when it comes to froyo from here And I cannot get anyone to answer the phone. I have now called 3 times to try and get in contact with them. I also got food poisoning which is slightly dusturbing. Will not ask for delivery again Update: Dealing with Grubhub is a gem. I have never had a problem with them and normally if something is wrong I just call the restaurant and I am good. But because I had food poisoning and wanted a refund the manager, who was not in the store, Alan Rudin was a condescending ass. He should not be a manager because he uses no customer service at all. The girls at orange leaf called him and let him know what was going and he told them to have me call him or I could come back tomorrow when he was actually there. I decided to call him and he then proceeded to ignore my call. It took 2 tries to get a hold of him and by then I was not happy. He proceeded to tell he would do nothing to help and it was not his fault. Well here this, Alan Rudin. Just MEH now. Before, it was cool. The service was not helpful or even welcoming when we first walk in. (They were just a couple of kids working a cash register) Orange leaf has changed how they charge (see my pic attached) Three cup sizes now. Not by per ounce anymore. My oldest kid picked the largest one and filled it up like he had gold in his pocket to pay for it. He didn't fill it to get the $7.xx worth though. The smaller cups were much smaller. The smallest one looked like it holds 4 oz. The middle size might hold 8oz. Which in reality if broken down per ounce, could range $0.56-$0.82/ounce. Pricey. Esp when the competitor is around $0.54 per ounce. The flavors are ok. My kids can only have the non dairy kind and those 2 specific dispensers were frozen to high heaven. We stood there for almost 6 minutes trying to dispense 1 flavor for 3 cups. Talk about holding up the line, lady! Spent $11.xx for three. It should have been almost $16 if I didn't have a coupon!!! I told the young girl behind the register I forgot the coupon from a specific ad, she was hesitant but said she will try to find one. She really didn't want to honor it but she was peer pressured by her co worker/friend to just "be nice". She was probably being nice because I looked exasperated from my yogurt dispensing deal and my kids climbing on me. That act of kindness earned the two stars. Probably won't recommend OL. I love Orange Leaf yogurt flavors, however the store on 86th is filthy. the floors are so sticky that you actually feel like you are glued to them. The condiment area is completely trashed with mystery ingredients in every scoop. I am so turned off by the situation at this store that I'm not going back. Staff does nothing to clean in between, just stand against back counter. Whatever happened to teaching when you have time to lean you have time to clean? This is now the third Orange Leaf location I have been to. All of them are very consistent in their decor, service and yogurt. The difference I noticed with this one is they had more unique toppings than the others I had been to. This was the least busy one I have been to as well. I actually liked it not being as busy because I did not feel rushed to make decisions like I have at other locations. Will be back! read more

So-so at best. The place was empty when I went in at a peak time, and I think I understand why now. No sample cups out...it seems they don't trust customers to get it themselves. I didn't read the sign thoroughly enough - I ended up paying over $7 for my yogurt because it was 'in the large cup - that's what's you're paying for' (as the employee said). Then, the employee wanted to argue about what locations in Des Moines have options for weigh your yogurt or to just buy it by the cup. By the way - the sign on the wall shows the 'large cup' to be about 5X bigger than what the actually 'large cup'. The yogurt tasted ok, but it seems like quite a bit of hassle. This is by far the most awesome Orangeleaf. They would've gotten a five-star if I would've been greeted upon entering instead the employee was in the back. Made it all the way to the bathroom and back out before she realize anyone was in the store. But she was super friendly. I was kind of sad because some of the flavors were out of order. But they did have red velvet and cheesecake that I was able to swirl together. It's a super delicious combo. They also had some toppings that I've never seen it a frozen yogurt place before. They had broken up Girl Scout caramel delight coconut cookies amazing. They also had little Debbie cosmic brownies. And something I've never seen before are the candy rocks. So fun and inventive. The location is right by the interstate but it kind of sucks getting in and out of. You basically have to go through the Walgreens parking lot to get here. But if you like frozen yogurt you need to come visit here. The inside is super bright and colorful and the place is very clean. read more

Seems like all of the Fro Yo joints follow a similar model. Bright neon colors, funky furniture and teenage servers. Came here after we had hit up the Ruby Tuesday's up the street looking for some yummy dessert. What I first noticed was the sample situation. If you are like me you like going to a fro yo joint to get sample cups and trying all the flavors to ensure that the concoction you make is as tasty as you want it to be. The weird thing is that while you can do that here, they actually have someone standing in front of the machines with sample cups and you have to ask them to give you a sample. Its more than a little awkward when there are a lot of people. The lady would have to hear your request, go to the machine, do the requisite one pump and return to the center of the room. She didn't seem to be enjoying it either. It definitely hampered the experience and I just ended up experimenting without sampling as I didn't want to deal with the drama. I also wasn't very happy about the fact that they had no dairy free options. Most fro yo joints have at least one sorbet but they didn't have any sorbet option. Additionally they didn't mention anything about calories and ingredients next to each yogurt dispenser like most places do. The best part about this orange leaf was the toppings, I think that their toppings bar was top notch and the even had salted whole almonds (which other fro yo joints don't carry because of the cost) as well as a variety of syrups. YUM. Cost was somewhat average to what you would expect from other fro you joints...so no big deviation there. I have just had better and the whole communist sampling procedure turned me off completely. Will avoid this place unless I have no other options.... read more

Location - totally within walking distance of HIE, Hampton, Microtel, and Fairfield hotels off I-80. Sidewalks the whole way, and cross walks at the one intersection. Food - we love orange leaf! At least 10 flavors of fro-yo and multiple topping choices. Orange leaf is always a favorite. read more

Perhaps it was due to the fact I went in 30 minutes prior to close, but the frozen yogurt that I selected (chocolate/vanilla twist) was soup and it melted quickly. The furniture seems to have some form of meta design going on, but its not good for anyone besides The Little Couple. Chairs sit about 18" off the ground and are not comfortable for grown adults to sit in. The other option were high tops that only appeared to seat two. To top it off, this place seemed higher in price than any other establishment similar to it with half the quality. They also seem stingy on samples, with the person manning the counter handling the cups and giving out a little less than a soupcon. I'll try it again during peak hours, but this was a disappointment compared to what was available in Phoenix. read more

Went to get chocolate and carmel sauce and they were out of both. The yogurt was not edible. It appeared to be frozen skim milk. I threw it away and left. Amazing. I have been to Orange Leaf before, so I knew the froyo was good. However, this place was the best one I've been to. I've been to all three in the Des Moines area. The Urbandale store was so clean and tidy. When I walked into the store, I was immediately greeted by a staff member. When I got to the froyo I was happy to see the variety of selection. Fruit favors. Cakes. Chocolates. As for samples, I didn't have to wait at all. An employee was there with gloves asking me if I would like to sample something. Not only that, she suggested flavors and pairings that she has had before. It was great service. The topping selection was very good and VERY clean. Rolos. Twix. And fresh cut strawberries and blueberries were all so good. I will certainly be back! The FROYO is always so good wherever you go, but this place is so clean. Very comfortable.
